    Struggling with addiction doesn't make you a bad person, it doesn't make you 'deserve' anything and anyone who thinks that needs to get off their high horse and realize dealing with that your whole life is far from easy. Cory was an incredible positive inspiring person who touched many lives and in the end that's what truly matters and how he should be remembered. So much love and respect for Darren and what he said.

    It’s officially been 7 years since this interview and 7 years and 20 days since Cory Monteith’s anniversary of his death 😖 Which I recently started watching Glee after the tragic death of Naya. But, I realized there were 2 others, Mark/Puck & Cory/Finn. I cry over all of them and I guess it’s silly, but it’s sad. Some deaths are well-known, some are just known by intimate and close friends. Theirs’ happened to be well/known memorials spread out and everything. It’s sad, you can be sad over a death, but eventually acceptance towards the death has to make an entryway towards the person grieving. Uh, bye! 😇

      Same, when the news of Naya going missing arose I decided to watch glee to see her Iconic role. I started it July 11, and always wondered where Cory was at now. For some reason I wasn’t in urgency to find out and coincidentally when I did search up what was of him it was July 13, 7 years after his tragic death. It broke me into a million pieces. I cried endlessly still makes me sad to think of everything he could have accomplished if he was still here. Two weeks ago I watched his tribute episode on glee and I sobbed. Breaks my heart he’s gone. I pray he has found peace and continues to rest in heaven🥺🤍.

Like lea must've felt 30x worse.... I'm so sorry Lea that you had to go through that, and still have reminders everyday... I honestly want Cory back and I want him to do that dumb smile where he looks like a infant about to fart.. he was adorable, creative, nice, and just a Angel😇 I send my prayers to Lea even though she has recovered.. Even though Cory struggled with addiction, he had some light in spite of all of his mistakes and he overcame and reached out and inspired all of us to do the same thing. He taught us to overcome obstacles and be brave. Cory's a good role model, and some of you are looking at the bad parts of what he did. Can't you overlook that? He's a wonderful guy. Well, as far as I know, Cory never hurt anyone with his addiction. As Darren said, Cory touched millions of lives even as he was struggling with his own problems. Drug addiction isn't a good thing, and it is preventable, but your cousin is right- no one is perfect and everyone has their own demons... instead of focusing on the bad things someone does, if they're not hurting you you should really try to remember the good things they've done because everyone makes mistakes.

    Humans are so varied but we've got something in common: we all have bad habits, make bad mistakes. However, they shouldn't define us. If nothing else, Cory showed that a person can still have a big heart, can still give, and make millions smile and laugh despite his personal demons. That's why he's a role model to many. On that note, don't abuse drugs. Never a good idea. But it's important to remember that drug addicts are very very much human. More importantly, there's more to them than that.

He just happened to get addicted to drugs. To me, that's very different. Many have done it for the attention, the drama, the bad crowds, the stress, but the drugs was a problem before he became a celebrity. To me that's not like everyone else. He had a good heart. many kids have hard lives and overcome them. He isn't the messiah you know. He wasn't a bad person for sure, but he wasn't a hero either. Btw an addiction is both mental and physical. Metadone is given to drug addicts to prevent abstinence's crisis. Get in touch with addicts, there is more than black and white.

    It's one of the major religious points in Judaism. Yom Kippour is all about repenting your mistakes of the past year through fasting and then being written in the Book for the next year. Contrary to what a lot Christians think (I've had to explain this enough times to Christian friends), Judaism does not have a hell and neither does Paganism for that matter.

    "That is where you will find this worthless junkie." This part of the original comment especially is highly judgmental, so I both disagree with it and find it hurtful. That said, for those who believe in Heaven, there actually is a Hell (you really can't have one without the other.) But the person who made the original comment is not the Judge for someone like Cory Monteith (or anyone else for that matter) who obviously suffered from addiction, which like you said is no different than other sin.

    I feel like, when the next season of Glee begins, I feel they should have a funeral for Finn. And they should use his real-life story of heroin addiction. It would show the viewers that it could happen to anyone, and that they need to get help as early as possible because it is so easy to relapse, and the longer you wait, the harder it will be to stay clean. They should make it that Finn actually left to go to rehab and lied about going to the army. That he tried to get help. All I'm saying is

  • @keikustar
    @keikustar 11 лет назад

    Like I said, he had a hard teenage life and he looked for reassurance in the wrong ways. Once you get addicted to a substance, which can happen after the very first hit, your brain craves more and more of the drug and there is no cure for it. It makes you feel like it's the only option you have and is demanding about it. It is listed as a mental disorder. He made a mistake that he had to live with the rest of his life, and he was very vocal to steer others away from the same path he fell onto.

  • @keikustar
    @keikustar 11 лет назад

    He wasn't a messiah, but he was a hero in his own way. He touched many lives and from so, have saved some. Of course, all mental disorders have physical reasoning within the brain, but Methadone is no where near 100% effective to cure relapses or addiction itself. The point of my comment was to explain that it wasn't black and white, as I am in touch with addicts.

  • @keikustar
    @keikustar 11 лет назад

    With addiction, there comes a point where it's not a choice anymore. He made the choice twice to get help, but relapses can come out of nowhere. There is no cure for it. He had a hard teenage life and strayed down a few dark patches that affected the rest of his life, but that doesn't define who he is. Addiction is a mental disorder, and it's not a choice.

    -That they really should just tell his story and praise for trying to get help, but just write it so that it ties into the story well. It would be an amazing way to end Cory's character as Finn.

    I can't believe its been 7 years since Cory died than 2 years ago Mark died of suicide. And no body talk about last year the actress who played Sue's sister died. And on the 7th annverisyof Cory's death Nia Rivera died of a drowning. I truly believe there is a glee curse.

    sometimes I dislike religious people, you know why? they are the first to judge a person who doesn't even live anymore, I know not all religious people are like that, but most of them they judge and judge, seriously guys, make your god proud and don't fucking judge and criticize a guy who doesn't speaks for himself anymore, he touched a lot of hearts and that's what it matters, concentrate on the good things he did while he was alive, ignore the bad decisions he made, and learn from his mistakes

    You give no factual basis for any argument you make and you contradicted yourself to the point where it's laughable. Cory was not a "money stealing junkie" when he died, nor was he one when he lived. He made mistakes, yes, but we all do in our youth. Addiction is a serious illness that hides in plain sight, it's not easy to kick. Many people a predisposed to addiction and cannot ever go without being addicted to /something/ in their life (ranging from drugs, to food, to tv, to computers)

    He obviously didn't planned on dying but I'm pretty sure that nobody was shoving drugs down his throat. We all have a choice of doing drugs or not, yet you don't see half the country addicted to drugs, so don't justify his actions and try to make him a martyr because he is not. His death was a shame and a big lost to everyone but is not something to look up to. Don't justify his actions where it makes it seem ok for young people to die from drug abuse because it's not.

    You know what, I'm sorry what I said was totally uncalled for. Maybe you were just asking an honest question and I totally overreacted. My bad.
    He saved lives in more than one way. Through his career in glee, being an inspiration to most teens going through high school (you won't believe the amount of suicides here caused by bullying), and with his death, hopefully serving as a reminder to everyone that drugs, yeah they're not cool.

    After attending 16 schools, including alternative programs for troubled teens, he dropped out altogether at age 16. By that time, his drug and alcohol dependency had increased and Monteith turned to petty crimes, such as stealing money from friends and family, to fund his addictions...
    Before breaking into show business, Monteith worked various jobs, including Walmart people greeter, taxicab driver, school bus driver, and roofer - oh man,what a hero -.-

    I don't believe in the afterlife, and I do think he was ultimately a good person with his own demons to battle. But...in what way did he 'save so many lives?' I could understand saying he inspired many people as it's possible. But I don't think he was kicking down doors and pulling orphans out of burning buildings or even. And PSA's are all well and good, but I don't think anyone stopped harming someone else because Cory Monteith sang not to. Could even call him heroic. But a life saver?

    No, until you get to that mature point and, you know, grow feelings? Your comment will remain irrelevant to me. :) I don't really feel like continuing a "conversation" with you because you fail to realize the point or you realize the point and don't want to get off topic because you understand how insensitive it was? You seemed smart enough to at least comment back maturely, however you failed me there too. Good day!

  • @pirannahs
    @pirannahs 11 лет назад

    No, not necessarily. She is showing you how insensitive your comment was and wanted to show you the pain you can conflict on others. It is a shame to read what people like you say about others who died. Are you saying since I did not know the people who died in a recent car crash, I can't be upset over it. You ever heard of empathy? Once you start acting mature and not using cursing at me to get your point across, your comment is also irrelevant. :)

    Do you know how mean this comment is? You just said that he deserved his death, well, let me tell you this my friend; NO ONE deserves death especially a person of Cory's age. Yes, sure he was an addict but he WAS trying to get better, so cut him some slack! If that doesn't change your mind then, let me ask you this...how would you feel if someone close to you had died because of an overdose and you saw a comment saying that 'that person deserved his death'? Hmm, how would you feel?

    I don't think you comprehend how hard it is to overcome addiction. He got into it at a fairly young age, unfortunately. He'd been fighting it for years and checked himself into rehab. Addiction often gets to a point where it becomes an illness. Relapses are common. He fought very hard, and he lost his life to it. People close to him are trying to remember the positives he had in life, not what he lost it to. Please show a bit of respect for someone who is gone.

    Look. Anyone who takes drugs, takes them for a reason. Cory had a troubled past that he tried so hard to get through, but failed because God wanted him as an angel. Does it really matter what the cause of his death is? The world lost a wonderful, talented person and we should remember him as the strong and genuine man that he was. RIP Cory, keep rocking on that big drumkit in the sky.
