- Here it is an updated version including the ones I missed in the last video (Not sure i have them all) also adding the recent games like Kiwami 2 and Hokuto ga Gotoku. I also did Kurohyou series, may not be dynamic but its their boss intros.

Especially when you or if you have played the other Yakuza games know who that “ massive man “ is makes that intro more fitting.
I think western devs could learn a thing or two from the Yakuza games. Whenever I see a yakuza villain dynamic intro, it makes me feel intimidated and pumped up to fight the guy. Seeing the name across the screen as the music kicks in while they pose just gives a natural feel that you're not fighting a common enemy, you're fighting someone much stronger and more powerful. With other games with bosses, it's just cutscene and fight. With dynamic intros, it just gives the boss more of an impact
I could argue that Borderlands kinda does that. Granted, it isn't a dynamic intro and then you are already in the fight, but they still do that.
Who knows, maybe on Borders 4 we get the boss intro ingame, so that when it ends the fight is on.
Yeah I couldn't agree more. These get me super pumped up for the fight. Like this person you're fighting isnt some punk off the street that you can toy with. This is somebody that's a big threat

That whole sequence was masterfully crafted with the handcuffs, my favourite one tbh
I think that fight and interaction in general is really underrated. Tanimura and Sugiuchi's conflict is one of the best in the series.

@@TUCell-ps5mi at this point, Daigo, Kido and Arai are fighting for their ideals. They could just leave and run away, but instead they prove their strength one last time. My favourite one has to be Kido, who kept getting up to fight Saejima, despite being a lot weaker than him. I also like Akiyama and Arai then Kiryu and Daigo mirroring their attacks during their QTEs
Just in general, Yakuza 4 bossfights are one of the best in the series if not the best

I love the Nishiki one so much cause the way Kiryu has his eyes closed before the fight starts it's like hes saying Goddammit I dont want to do this but I have to. I'm not sure if he would have turned out that way but maybe he was thinking about what nishiki became while he was in prison and how nishiki saved him from killing Shibusawa in 0. Who knows if kiryu would have lost control after that like nishiki did. After being together for so long and watching each others backs one mistake by Nishiki basically sealed his fate. While kiryu was gone he wasn't able to be there for his brother and that was probably tearing him apart during that fight. Once a brother, now an enemy. The Dragon and the Koi. The significance of nishiki's tattoo comes full circle. Everybody in kiwami 1 was always comparing him to kiryu. He was a koi that wanted to become a dragon and failed
Well considering that everyone lraised Kiryu, I doubt he would have had a reason to lose control.
Also the fact that it's Kiryu's fault Nishiki had morphed into such a vile person in order to survive once he stole his fate by taking his place and going into prison. He fell apart as a Yakuza with the expectation of being as good as Kiryu put onto him now that he had to be the one to lead a family in his stead and he couldn't take all the pressure. Kiryu interfered with Nishiki's decision to do what he did and it lead to a much worse fate for him in the end.
Finally somebody listed yakuza chronologically good man.

At first I was getting annoyed with Kuze cause it was like oh this guy again but hes just one of those guys that you can't help but like cause I think kiryu points out that hes the embodiment of what a true yakuza should be. It was almost as if kiryu admired that aspect that kuze had

Late to the show but indeed and Kiryu actually calls him Aniki from his heart not from societal obligations at the last fight

My favourite thing is: they have no reason to do this yet. There's barely any emotional connection between them at this point and Someya is like a random thug for Kiryu at this point of story

This is old and sorry for the ping, but if you look really closely before the pipe hits, there's (metal?) buttons on the sleeve of his suit around where kiryu's wrist is

I watched 1:55 part in 0.25x and realised the muscle strength of Lao Gui.

When I started playing Yakuza 0, I fell in love with the series, I am playing as of today the finale of Kiwami 1, Can't wait when all the Yakuza games come to Game pass :)

In Judgment/Judge Eyes, you can play Kamurocho of the Dead and it appears as an easter egg for Yakuza: Dead Souls but in Rail Shooter style and it is on my top spot on my most played arcade in Club Sega 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I like how for every game in the series they always made villains stronger than the previous ones, though in my opinion goda (dragon of kansai) is the strongest boss in the whole yakuza franchise. But yeah love the series.

I don't get why people overrate Ryuji so often. The only thing he's got going for him is his sheer strength and defense, however his fighting is really goddamn sloppy, he loses his balance really often and is really slow, Kiryu had problems with him because he was injured. The strongest of all Kiryu's villains was Yoshitaka Mine. He had the strength, the speed and the technique. Kiryu was also in his prime in Yakuza 3 and they were pretty much equals, yet Kiryu was still badly bruised and really exhausted after the fight.

Man my first game was yakuza kiwami the last fight was so painful for me cause nishiki was just really stressed out and also these game series made the hero villain fight intro perfect

Ngl this video was my first interaction with kurohyou, in the start i was like "why the mc looks like Genji from Crows zero?" Then after that i expended 3 months playing the two games trying to get 100% of both

Given the Dragon of Dojima's legacy anything short of an AC130 is a fair fight for Kiryu.
Sometimes, I'm kind of almost curious about having these PSP games remade/reimagined on modern hardware. Either that, or given the HD collection treatment like with Yakuza's 3, 4 and 5.

Its always strange seeing original tanimura instead of remastered.
The gritty look of yakuza 0 and kiwami are so much better than the smooth boi versions after it. Bit disappointed they changed the visual style. It was perfect imo
0 and Kiwami came out after those games
@@Unknown-zn8cg im talking about yakuza 6 and yakuza kiwami 2 when I say smooth boi engine. I think yakuza 0 was the peak visual of yakuza games. Kiwami was purposely visually darker because the game is so sad and I respect that but the visuals and the style in 0 was the best.

I think kiryu looked perfect in 5, and to a lesser extent 6. In 0 and kiwami he looked very plasticy and his eyes didn’t feel alive, in 3 and 4 he looked good but I can see why people don’t like that look, in kiwami 2 and 7 he looks way too young it doesn’t make sense.
My favorite in the whole series is still Mine, but there are some GOOD ones
For the Ryu ga Gotoku/Yakuza 4 Dynamic Story Boss Intros, Shun Akiyama's should be 1st since the order for said game (not counting the final boss battles) is: Shun Akiyama--> Taiga Saejima--> Masayoshi Tanimura--> Kazuma Kiryu. Awesome videos nonetheless. Still wish that the JPN specific games arrived stateside...
Hehe, Yeah I knew the original order but I couldn't reedit the whole sub-title of the game on the Saejima V Kiryu part so that was why I had the Akiyama one second my bad.
Fun Fact: Majima is serious when he's fighting someone, only makes him Smile is that he's fighting with Kiryu
