I used to be a Lake diehard fan but wanted something lighter.. Had the Lake CX238 and CX241, this one fits just as comfortable for the width, and STIFFER and LIGHTER by farrrrrr (those using Lakes will know they are not the lightest).. The upper is a lot thinner, not real leather but feels like leather, very pliable and well ventilated for long rides (i do around 250-300kms a week).. And just so easy to put power down to the pedal on this, very recommended!!
Charles, thanks to you I discovered Bont shoes a couple of years ago. Love the Vaypor S and Vaypor G. Just last week received my first pair of Vaypor 23. I kid you not, the moment I put them on I was like “oohh wow, these are like comfy slippers. Nice.” They basically haven’t come off my feet since. My Vaypor S pair are giving me jealous looks. That all said, I have to echo everything you said in your review here, especially the bit about the locked in feeling being in no way compromised compared to the Vaypor S. They feel locked in every bit as much as the S and G models. And so light and buttery smooth feeling. Bont really knocked it out of the park with these. By the way, the garage is looking sick dude. Looove the red under cabinet LEDs. That reflection effect off your workbench is next level. Nice work man.
I've been running the Vaypor 2023 for a couple of months now against my Lake CX332. The Lakes are staying put a lot more lately and I'm grabbing the Bonts. For my foot (which is actually a bit narrow) I've never owned a shoe so light, so stiff, and so unbelievably comfortable - even after 3-4 hours on the bike. And I never thought I'd own a shoe that would make me think about selling my CX332s, but this Bont is that good. Honestly, it's almost perfect
The 23 isn’t available in double wide sizes, so I went with the Vaypor+, also doesn’t wrap the foot as much as the S and I got the kangaroo leather. Bont and Lake are the only companies that make a wide last for their wide sizes, my opinion is Lake for comfort and Bont for performance Check out all the options on Bont semi-custom too
I really like my Bonts, however it's a bit annoying that there aren't any dealer here in Montreal. I've had very bad issues with two pairs now, had the Vaypor+ where one of the BOA dial ripped off from the shoe and can't repair them and just now, with the Helix that replaced them, I can't thread the BOA cable through the eyelet in the channel that wraps arounds. Make it very hard to have some decent service :( Still, I got an other pair of used Vaypor S as a backup set if anything happens.
I don't post much anymore, that's why! :') Would love a strong comeback, but I'm a bit lost on where I'm taking my RUclips channel. Currently doing most of my effort on Instagram

Cool! I never tried Lake shoes, would love one day!
@@CharlesOuimetThey are really good, but their customer support is something that needs lots of improvement. It’s horrible to say the least.

I’m looking to buy new shoes for that ultimate performance!

Too bad they don’t have retail presence in Montreal. I’d definitely consider.
I think they have a great return/size exchange policy. Also they have a online size generator guide which is very accurate
Same. I did buy them using their online guide, and if you can check Marketplace to validate if the size fits with someone else's shoe.
Cool video! very good quality and great information on the shoes! would you recommend this to a somewhat beginner (I've only ridden about 1500 km)?
Thanks! That's a difficult question. But I live by the sentence : Buy cheap, buy twice. But understand they are quite expensive!
@@CharlesOuimet Alright! i will think of that when i buy shoes next time, and definitely keep the V23 in mind! thank you!
I had these Vapor 23. I found the upper to be too soft. Swapped them out for a pair of Vapor S.
Salut Charles!
Quel était ta taille dans les souliers Giro? Et en Bont?
Merci!
L'étiquette dans le talon sur ses Bont dit taille 42.
Would you say the new version allows you to get the cleats further back?
Yes they do I think!!!
Definitely. I have the Patrocleats cleat adapters on my Vaypor S shoes - no need for them on the 2023.
did you get shadowbanned or something? you never show up in my recommended anymore.
Same here!
