For everyone saying "she once used these herself", she did also mention that she hasn't been using them and hence finds them unnecessary. Also about certain products she mentioned that some people may find necessary indeed, she does mention why she does mention them in the list and the skin types for which they might be necessary. People seem to be in a hurry to comment somehow, so much so that they dont even follow what she is saying.
Face primers are important for someone like me who have large open pores..if I put foundation without primer then I get breakouts.
Without a primer, My makeup melts and my face resembles a frying pan after a couple of hours.

I never use highlighter! Because i have oily skin and i don't set my entire face with powder..just the 'T' zone..I only highlight the inner corner of my eye...yes Jovi it's unnecessary because one will look like a walking oil can in real life.. in photos highlights are good!!! Finally I found someone who doesn't use highlighter because of same reasons. Oily skin squad here and just not into highlighting or dewy finish base!
I have only contoured and highlighted once during my cousin's wedding dinner. I completely hate it. My daily makeup consists of pressed powder, eyeliner, lipbalm
Same girl same. I've got oily skin and look greasy AF. And there's only so much you can use. These days highlighters also come in huge pans, you'll never finish one as well.
@@trishalahansdah2976 exactly. I have just one highlighter, the mega glo one from wet n wild and it's enough. I just use it for big events where's it's gonna air conditioned otherwise my face does the job of highlighting for me after a few hours!
One makeup trend was so viral I almost have seen it everywhere that one person is applying a sheet mask then two or three kind of serum then so many products before applying a foundation made me so anxious and I tried once use a face pack just before my base also I used moisturizer and serum and guess what at the end of the day my skin look like an oil mine 😫 so I do what I do every time and honestly this kind of trends are so extra 😑 LOVED THIS VIDEO ... Learnt a lot of things from this ♥️

I don't understand why people waste a whole lot of money on sheet masks...I mean they cost 100rs each and it's only for one time use...and after using it i doesn't feel any kind of difference in my skin it's just hydrating nothing extra... such a waste of money...
@@barbiesingh6547 so fucking true nd i thought it only happenns to me that i dont feel any difference rather than hydrating skin for 10 to 15 min. even though serums are also not useful just 2,3 oils are mixed and one some kinda fragrance
People like to do crazy things on IG makeup tutorials just to get the WTF factor and get people to watch their videos. What they don't realize is, they are influencing a lot of people to try these insane suggestions too..

I agree and have practically experienced the highlighter being un necessary. No matter how subtly I apply it, it ends up exaggerating my pores and looks artificial in pictures. My super oily skin gives that sheen in pictures anyway🤷♀️
Sometimes i feel that when i need to know what not to do, what not to buy, what not to waste my money on...just go to jovita's and shweta's channel...you two are my holy grails when i actually want to know what's worth buying/doing and what's not. Thank you for such videos 💖

You are so correct.. Everything you mentioned on this video is so damn true, especially the primer part.
Primer is nothing but silicone, and there is nothing hydrating about silicone.. it’s just another marketing gimmick to make sales and that’s it.
Silicone does make skin smooth for a while when you apply it, but honestly guys it’s just suffocating your pores and this leads to breakout.
Also as Jovita mentioned, it can further enlarge your pores as silicone being hydrophobic is difficult to wash out completely and remain inside pores for long time.
Also baking, and putting layers of corrector, concealer and foundation on daily basis is doing more harm than good.
Just be yourself, don’t fall for trends, light foundation or concealer (if you want ) and sunscreen is all you need..🙂

Things I do even if said unnecessary:
💐 I love highlighter because I end up feeling dry all the time...
💐 I have deeeep dark circles... I use orange/peach colour corrector... Where I can just go with just foundation and not even concealer.
*But* you said it!!! Not everyone needs everything 💯
And here is a perfect example of really understanding what works on yourself. You do you boo!
@Talks Infinite - does the under-eye area look grey after doing the color correction also? Mine does :( and I use a concealer that is the same shade as my skin tone.
@@elinam31 no dear.. after colour correction it doesn't look grey.. try to correct and set it with compact or wait for few min before applying concealer..

@@TalksInfinite Same here, even after using correct shade and undertone my under-eyes tends to get greyish afterwards. Also I always set it with the loose powder . Don't know why?

I use my eyeshadow pallette for my highlighter and brow filler..i did not buy them seperately..nd i got this idea from one of your stories where you were saying of not buying every product and be creative and getting the job done by what you have.You really helped me saving a lot of money.
And this video so damn helpfull specially the primer one. I have one but hardly use it..best is to moisturise and prep your skin really good to get that beautiful finish.
Me too! Same goes with blush but lately I've been loving using lipsticks as blush.
Hey Pavlusha, even I have seen that I felt like it was a lovely tip and totally related to it. There are many products in the market that can be substituted instead of buying a whole new individual product. For eg, pink shade from an eye shadow palette can be used as a blush.
Yess..even i do that..i have lakme 9 to 5 lip nd cheek colour..plum feather &rose touch..they are immensely pigmented..they serve the purpose of blush.👍

I use dark brown lip liner for my brows.... being a lazy af I use the same liner as kajal n eye liner....in I want li'l smoky effect I smudge it ....n I'm done......😂 quick glam

Amazing video. All credit for these honest thoughts. I actually stopped doing all these steps long before as none worked for me and my skin thanked me for that. Instead of wasting my money on every new highlighter and primer now i spend it on skincare and that really has worked and nothing else. Thanks for telling that i am not losing on anything by giving up these steps. My goto makeup for everyday is a concealer, occasional color corrector when i have panda eyes, benetint and a lipstick. Lipstick is one makeup product which I don’t think one can have enough. 👍👍

Was wondering why is there so much hype about this and was confused whether to just go for a foundation or if I should get a colour corrector . OMG thank you so so much Jovi! I have just moved to wearing contacts instead of specs and I so badly need my undereye concealer. Having watched all the youtube tutorials, I always bake and ended up looking so caked up and dry and cracked i cant even explain! I didn't know what was wrong and i thought i didn't have the right loose powder. Today just after the video I tried very little dusting of loose powder and it looks like my natural skin and so beautiful 😭😭😭😭 thank you!!! ❤️

I believe using beauty blender is also not necessary to use. Liquid foundations also went good with your own fingers. Specially daily use and easy to build.
Always knew this about primers and baking powders ... I swirl around a little bit of compact powder around with after applying concealer and I'm sorted .. nor have I ever owned a primer , rather jus apply good amount of moisturisers and voila !

Finally someone made this video!! I don't use a highlighter on a regular basis, and sometimes when I do for trivial outings, I get so oily!! Actually stopped highlighting after that. Same with baking - I do but just for special occasion. And I couldn't agree more with the colour correcting bit, woman! Me n my sister - partner in crime - tried colour correcting once a couple of years back after watching RUclips videos, and it was a nightmare. Thankfully we were just trying it out and weren't doing for some event!! Didn't touch that orange corrector ever - sheer wastage of money!
Another trend that I absolutely detest is applying serum using the dropper right on the face!!
I used to bake a lot but it ripped out all the moisture and my under eyes used to die.I do not bake now and my under eyes look so good. Loved the video❤️

I do color correct my under eyes... Just to make my ashy dark circles look a little bit better than they are.. Cause I wear spectacles everyday and it lifts up my eyes.. Other than that the other trends are just useless for me.. I don't own a highlighter either.. I just made my DIY one for special occasions ❤

Baking! For me I have even stopped using powder for setting under eyes after I got the PAC spotlight concealer AND IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER that way.

I don't use make-up on a daily basis but when I do if color correction is not done my makeup looks ashy..stark contour and blinding highlights definitely don't work for daily looks though..I love how my oily face highlights itself to give a natural glow..
