  • 2021 G3 National Conference - Session 5
In this session, Steven Lawson preaches on the conference theme, the doctrine of Christ. He preaches from John 19:16-30:
So he delivered him over to them to be crucified.
So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”
When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom, so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” This was to fulfill the Scripture which says,
“They divided my garments among them,
and for my clothing they cast lots.”
So the soldiers did these things, but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.
After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

      Lawson teaches a false gospel
The true gospel is the good news of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, it is concerning who Christ is and what He did to save His elect only. The gospel includes the how and why, which can only be seen by faith.
It is a message that declares how the eternal Son of God came down, took on a body of sinless flesh (John 1:14) as He was born of a virgin (Mat 1:23). He was both God and man in one Person.
He was born under the Law to keep and fulfill it (Mat 5:18, Gal 4:4). He did that, not for Himself, but for all those He represented because they could not keep it themselves. The word of God calls these people the elect or His sheep, among several other names.
His obedient life also included the part of dying. He took on the sin of His people as both a Substitute and Representative of those people. The Bible said He was "made to be sin" (II Cor 5:21) and the way that was done is by God imputing (legally reckoned or charged to the account of) sin to Christ. That means all the sin of all those people God chose was "laid on Him" (Isaiah 53:6). This sin was legally transferred to His account and He then owned it in such a way to be guilty of it all.
God the Father poured out His wrath and hatred toward sin on His Son and had pleasure (Isaiah 53:10) in doing so, in that, He was completely satisfied in Christ as a Sacrifice that met all the demands of His strict Law and inflexible justice. Christ finished the work of paying the penalty of the Law and then said " It is finished" (John 19:30). He secured salvation for all God’s chosen people that would even be born. His resurrection is evidence of the acceptance of His sacrifice to the Father.
The combined work of His obedience to the Law and His obedience unto death on the cross was considered establishing righteousness. This is what one of the Old Testament prophets prophesied as "bringing in an everlasting righteousness" (Daniel 9:24) as Christ died effectually and exclusively for those chosen of God before the world began (Eph 1:4).
This righteousness is what God imputes to His people in the context of giving the life to believe in Christ. This puts them in a state called "Justification" and as a result they are eternally secure, in Christ. This is the gospel (Rom 1:16-17).
All this takes place in such a way to show God as both a God of justice and a Savior. This is how grace reigns through righteousness (Rom 5:21)

Set your mind on Jesus Christ with a repentant heart and leave Him, to decide what you'll leave behind.
The reason I say this, is because it is by grace through faith, that we are saved and that is not of ourself. So it isn't by works or anything we do, or don't do, but by faith alone, having believed that Jesus died for our sins once for all, and that God raised Him from the dead.
The bible says we are to believe this in our heart and confess it with our mouth, unto salvation.
So, does doing this, make it a works based salvation? Not at all, it is an act of obedience to God, the Holy Spirit, Whom, has indwelt the believer, causing regeneration of our spirit that was dead in Adam. Just like He did in the one thief on the cross next to Jesus.
We have been given a new spirit and a new heart that is not hardened toward righteousness and a renewing of the mind, which completely changes our volition. This is why a sinner would be willing to walk away from sin and follow Jesus as Lord of their life. Just like you are thinking, you may wanna do.
Judging by the comments, it sounds to me as though you are doing exactly what you said in your heart, you would be willing to do. The Lord is the One that will see the work He has begun in you, through unto completion. Which of course, will be when we meet Him face to face in our new glorified digs. Our new glorified body, I was just trying to sound cool by saying, "digs". Lol..
I purposely said it that way, to show you that we Christians are just like everyone else, in that we like to have fun, still wanna come across as cool, unique and individual or whatever our thing is, just not prideful or immoral, or anything sinful.
We live a new more abundant life inside these vessels, that is pleasing to God and brings glory to Him. This is the fruit of the Spirit. His Spirit, the Paraclete, Who is working in us, doing all of the heavy lifting and comforting us, and rooting us onward to the finish line, by encouraging and enabling us. He is also sanctifying us, which of course is setting us apart from the world around us. Making us a peculiar people, something like God's chosen people, the Jews. Only for them it was in the physical sense as they were commanded to live in a way that was so different than anyone else, that they remained separate from everyone, thus ensuring a pure bloodline to the throne of David, and our Lord and King, the long awaited Messiah or Christ Jesus, Who will reign on David's throne forever.
But, in us the elect, it is spiritual, and yes we too, are a peculiar people, in the sense that we are merely sojournors in a land that is not our own, as we are just passing through, to reach the destination that God has placed the desire for, in our hearts.
Here is the tough part, and I can tell you this without concern of you turning and running the other way, because if indeed you are elect, then you, like myself and all of the brethren will be cast, in the furnace of affliction. Notice that I didn't say "cast into", like Daniel's three buddies, who were cast into a furnace in an effort to destroy them. Rather, I said "cast in" and the reason for this, is because for us, it is not for punishment and destruction, but discipline and admonishment and through affliction, we are being perfected in Christ or you could say, being made into the image or likeness of Christ. This is achieved by our suffering, as He did. This I believe is only one of the reasons behind what Paul meant when he said, to take up our cross and follow Him, and also, work out your salvation with fear an trembling.
When we are following Christ, we are the light of Christ, to the world around us. I am not saying we are Christ. But, when people see and hear a true blue born of God Christian soldier, there is such a vast difference between them and us, that those that remain rebellious against the Lord become uncomfortable because they love darkness and all the sinfulness that goes with it. They hate the light and shun it because it reveals the truth about their wickedness and the dark sinful condition of their heart,
We need to be on our guard from attacks by the evil one, who works his craft in and through those that remain spiritually dead in Adam, as they are lost and deceived. We will be persecuted for Christ's name sake. That is one of the marks of a godly man. Just look at all that our Lord allowed, for Paul to suffer for Christ's name sake. Also let us not forget that there is a spiritual battle for the mind, taking place, and the reading of the word and prayer are where we will find some of our best defense against any accusations from the evil one, not to mention, both the word and prayer can be a quiet place of refuge, to shelter us from any of the storms we must go through in our trials.
I am confident, that the Lord has already begun a great work in you. Tonight when I head down to the lake, to spend time with the Lord. I will include all of you in my prayer.
Anyhow brothers and sisters, I love you, as do all of the brethren, as does our gracious Lord

This is the kind of thing that makes truth and god harder for people to find. God is logic, not incoherent ramblings about 1 human sacrifice being enough for all creation...it was one small part and it’s important to remember that God is not Christian or a member of any other cult. God is reason and truth. For those who say resurrection makes Jesus the messiah (the chosen one would not claim to be chosen and that is what Judaism, in my opinion correctly taught) it’s important to remember that Jesus wasn’t even the only person in the story of Jesus that was allegedly resurrected. If that makes Jesus the one and only son of god (we are all concepts within possibility and just as a particular equation is one part of math but fundamentally one with the field of math overall, so too is it with all conscious and embodied life. We are all consciousness and to exalt yourself over others and have followers is not the way of the truth bearer. To have religion and dogma rather than truth reason and love is and never was gods goal. It’s time to drop the cult bs and study logic and apply reason to scripture as to do anything else is a way of saying you existence and god are illogical and unreasonable. God is Logos, and consciousness is fundamentally the ability/existence of Meta-reflective logical reasoning. It’s one thing for the ancients to have been unaware of logical reasoning and it’s divinity, it’s ability to order systems and work seeming miracles, but anyone with a computer should understand logic a little better and what the implications of it are.
Looking at the comments I see irrational attempts to express the most belief in Jesus but this obviously is getting in the way of knowledge of god. To worship god is to reason and think through all possibilities, as God does and as God have us free will and logos to do (do you have a computer for no reason? No, it’s to help you know shit quicker. Same thing with multiplicity of free willed consciousness.) and to help god think. Worship and prayer, if those terms are even still appropriate after all the misinformation and confusion spread by cults with that terminology, is about mental focus not mindless faith. Knowledge of God beats faith in God 100% of the time. Those who have faith without reason are illogical and the sum of the illogical what religion calls Satan. The illogical is what destroys not only humanity but creation!

None of your philosophers hung on a Cross to pay OUR penalty for lies, blasphemy, idol worship, fornication…the list is endless. …and… It was prophesied hundreds of years before Christ was born that He would come and do exactly what he did..read Isaiah 52 and 53.. God Bless you ! I will not engage in an argument with you so don’t even bother to respond …unless you want to be saved yourself… Do Not reject Him…prayers for you..

“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.”

Where in The Scriptures does Yehovah give Adam freewill? 🧐
      Your reasoning is scripturally illogical
      Yehovah created Adam
He put him in the garden ~ Eden
He gave him work ~ look after the garden
He commanded him Not to eat from 1 tree in the middle of the Garden The Tree of knowledge of Good&Evil.
      Eating it wasn’t freewill
      But
      Rebellion ~ Sin ~ Disobedience
      Not
      Freewill.
Jesus Christ THE ETERNAL SON OF GOD CAME
FROM HEAVEN ~ THE WORD OF GOD
      HE TOOK OFF HIS DIVINITY
      HE BECAME A MAN
HE WAS PERFECTLY OBEDIENT TO YEHOVAH
      EVEN
      UNTO THE DEATH ON
      THE CROSS ✝️
The trouble with this world is Sin ~ Rebellion ~ Disobedience to YEHOVAH.
      Jesus said
YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE
      SPIRITUAL BIRTH ♥️
      Because
      YEHOVAH IS SPIRIT 🔥

      @@P.H.888 yeah...logic is illogical...right...
Logic is best but even just study Judaism, with experienced rabbi’s, where they’re translating and interpretation straight from the Torah in Hebrew and according to its proper interpretation (like Jesus did...he never said to stop being Jewish did he?) before you pretend to know Gods word or what God is.
The answers that are contained in the Bible cannot be understood without logic and if you truly believe that nothing can be understood without God then God=Logic
The proper, and actually to my understanding after listening to Rabbi’s as well as Christians, and applying my own reason to the allegory, the original moral of the story is that telling Adam not to eat the apple, not to become conscious and self aware (know his nakedness) but that Adam doing it was actually what God wanted in a secret sort of way. God does not want to be alone, even with total power (why he said it’s not good for Adam to be alone...it was empathy...god knows from experience that you want other free willed minds to keep you company otherwise even a “perfect life” isn’t perfect.) but if you tell one of your creations to eat the fruit and they do how can you tell if they did it from choice rather than following Gods order, and if you give something the truth without them understanding why it’s the truth (eehhhmmm....) then it is worthless to them. It is downloading the content of the internet into a toad. It is leading a horse to water. It is like talking to someone who cannot prove God (Know God rather than believe in God) about Jesus and the concept of messiah when they clearly haven’t even read the Torah in Hebrew as a man of God, a man of reason with an open mind, would before they argue with people about it.
      Logic=God
We must study logic (and rid ourselves of that demonic possession called dogma and falsehood so we may know truth and nothing but truth...) and practice reason to reveal the full knowledge and nature of God to ourselves.
I have given you what you need to know, whether you are open to it and eat the apple of knowledge, or sit there like an unconscious rock that could never be a true family to God, is 100% up to you!
I love you and may reason and truth guide you to tautological knowledge and a true relationship with our creator. Jesus is getting in the way of that for you and clearly did not bring knowledge (aka proof) of God but simply even more conflicting branches of uncertain beliefs and irrational cults.
God is truth, God is reason, God is Logos aka Logic and the ability to reason, according to much more than the Bible, according to logic itself, but also according to John 1...one of the most commonly recited and least understood parts of your own bible you claim to be an expert on.
If John had known computer science he would have compared Jah to the computers and artificial intelligence we have now. It’s simply natural intelligence (like our own minds) and not artificial or created by anything other that the forms of logic God consists of (in that sense it is self creating because even unconscious forms of order that were needed to create the first conscious mind aka hashem, are still a fundamental part of Hashem not separate from him at all) and this is the most logical explanation.
I’m imperfect and my explanation may be imperfect but to say god is something other than the concept of logic itself, the concept of order itself, and all the domino effect of its implications is pretty ridiculous and would mean that god is not logic, not logical, not eternal (stable), not reasonable, etc...
To say that just to keep some nonsense belief in Christ who was a man like the rest of us, a soul like the rest of us, one piece of the math like the rest of us, is why Christianity has not known God but only believed and done horrible things in a reasonable Gods name. The time for that is over, we know too much to not synthesize the information into the full picture I’m describing. The time door knowledge has come and those who still say “we cannot know” will answer to reason, they will answer to our one true god, one way or another. That is not a threat or something evil, it is what has to happen for sanity and order (gods plan) to be manifest and tautological (paradise).
I can say this but I cannot make you hear it if upon worship your idols rather than reason itself.

@@P.H.888 if Logic is “scripturally illogical” then maybe you should try actually learning what logic is, particularly dichotomy and logical division, then apply that to your scripture...maybe the whole reason so many people’s mental programming is fucked is because they’re trying to apply belief to logic rather than logic to scripture...
Think about it, because I see a great need for this information in your comment, that I’m trying to give you as nicely as I know how to as a human.
I am not telling you, like others who argue with you faith that you’ve been ALL wrong, I’m saying we are all wrong (all in error and falseness aka believe lies) when we are illogical and we have all truly walked with god when we have been sane and walked with reason. Now gain knowledge of God and logic and make it a tautology so you don’t need belief anymore, not even in logic itself. You will know logic and you will know God, you will worship God all day by simply being sane and loving, and by spreading reason, truth and love. You will read John 1 and not see how you missed it when we are talking on devices that work seeming miracles with logic and logical reasoning of possibilities. It is only magic to the crowd, not the magician.

@@jacobyates4016 is that why an Uber driver and former heroin addict, that has admittedly delved deep into the chaos and irrationality, but pulled myself out of it, with Gods help and guidance of course, sought and was given revelation that God is equivalent to the concept that we call logic (and all its implications and all the forms of logic there are, all the combinations of logics there are, and all the order and concepts it can create) but and given the ability to work my way back to with logic prove rather than believe in him. I agree that he picks people as a test of others.
I don’t have a proper “then” symbol on this keyboard but if you’ll allow “>” to represent then and “|=“ to mean that concepts are entailed by the left side of the formula before it then you might see what I’m saying. Try to download a logic calculator app and mess around with this stuff yourself, to see that it’s not my opinion it’s truth.
      {P,P>Q,Q>R,R>P}|=(P&Q)&R
This means that those variables represent possible statements and that it’s all only valid if all the variables represent a true concept, or the truth about a concept (judgment of your soul anyone? God just wants to know your value so all existence can be fully ordered and tautological with things properly ordered and accounted for) but that if they are, and that means there’s ONE option (all true statements aka the narrow gate to heaven) for it to be tautological, then it is a valid argument and not a circular fallacy.
It’s actually a fallacy itself to say that all circular arguments are fallacies, there is always one way to make it, with truth.
If P, Q, & R all represent true statements then that overall formula and all that is entailed by it is true.
This concept of entailment of all concepts in the grand “existential formula” is the real source of resurrection, and it’s the only explanation for such a mass resurrection in the end times that doesn’t make logical jumps or involve some sort of irrational witchcraft....
Get close to logic and reason so you may be closer to God. Your own scripture tells you as much if you understand what it’s ACTUALLY saying.
I love you even though I don’t know you, because we are all part of this formula and things will be better for everyone if more of us can find sanity (be fully logical, pure and ordered) and not have to be judged as false, and added into the concept of chaos (infinity is never done so a certain, manageable amount of chaos will be represented by the concept of “the rest of infinity that is not valid” or something similar in Gods equation and might end up being part of the chaos in positive and nondestructive things, like the dice the rest of the family plays divine games with.
