You noticed one of the Astro Bot dressed like Norse Kratos? A lot of the Astro Bots in game are references towards PlayStation Intellectual Properties! The Helldiver bot and Kratos bot were just two of the many PlayStation characters you can spot in game. There was even a Parappa The Rappa bot in early trailer there. Half the fun is spotting all the PS characters and references amongst all the puzzle platforming.
@@MarkITEXE I think they meant the he started in The Playroom VR, for the PS4. That was his first ever appearance in anything. The ninja minigame. He was still unnamed then
I don't know if you're interested. But this game, while being a PS exclusive, maintained a damn near 100% positive rating. 92% on metastatic for regular ratings. But the player reviews (what you should really look for) is a 9.2/10. It's a simple love letter to playstation fans and I'm happy it got GOTY
Long live the legacy of PlayStation! Astro Bot is a sci-fi platforming adventure game developed by Japanese studio Team Asobi and published by Sony. It is the most charming video game you'll ever have the pleasure of playing, and you should play it. Not only is it the best platformer since Super Mario Odyssey - in fact, it may be better - it evokes a level of whimsy, fun, and joy like no other game before it. It'll have you grinning from ear to ear every second because of how it exudes and directs the charm of its heritage. The absolute breadth of the PlayStation IP library on display in this game is staggering, deep, and profound on a scale hitherto undreamt of before in this medium. The closest any other game has come to this is Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series, but that anthology doesn't present itself in the same way that Astro Bot does. Astro Bot does it on a whole 'nother level. It is deliberate and evocative in its reverence of the past, while embracing the focus and designs of today in its production value across all fronts, including controls, which are tight as can be - and they need to be in the platformer genre - music, art direction, gameplay, and the most important, fun, which the game delivers in swathes that could cover a cityplex in dopamine. It is incredible and you owe it to yourself to enjoy it. We, the players, are all Astro Bots on a journey through the cosmos to rescue what we grew up loving; our favorite characters from our favorite games and revel in the never-ending charm of the most immersive form of entertainment out there. What better past time could there be? In closing, Astro Bot is a crowning achievement of video game excellence in every category. Nicholas Doucet, Team Asobi, and all those involved in making this game have made a once-in-a-generation kind of experience that should not be missed. It is my personal Game of the Year, and it left me absolutely stunned, filled with endless joy, and made me shed some tears with how emotionally impactful the game is at tugging on the heartstrings of my childhood. Growing up with the legendary PlayStation IP that this game so easily cameos and alludes to made it a complete treat from beginning to end, with an end credit sequence so beautiful and heartwarming that even typing this out in reference to it makes me tear up. I cannot express enough what a gem and masterpiece of a game Astro Bot is. It rivals some of the greatest platformers ever made and it stands on the laurels of those who came before it, not in spite of them, but in reverence; and yet, it wears a crown all its own. Astro Bot reminded me what it means to be a kid again; what it means to be joyful again; what it means to be a gamer; and ultimately, what it means to have fun. Play this game. Share it with your friends. It deserves it and so do you.
We gotta admit, Astro Bot was the most impressive platformer with cameos up the yin yang. Even I’m willing to buy it! So it’s a congratulations to PlayStation.
I highly recommend this game, it's just such a fun casual time ~! It's simple, but very effective with the gorgeous platform and unique levels, not to mention all the the different equipment like the dog jetpack, time stop, and mice mode to keep the game refreshing. Filled to the brim with 30 years of PlayStation history with hundreds of IPs joining in to make this game something special~! It's also not a long game if you want to play through it without trying to 100% it. A must buy game indeed if ya have a PS5
It was an absolute blast of a game. Great nostalgia, great way to pass down gaming to the younger generation, and me and my wife both had silly smiles on our faces most of the time
Back in the late 90s and early 2000s Sony PlayStation 1&2 was VERY well known for platformers. So seeing Sony making another platformer of amazing quality and charm meant the universe (pun intended) to gamers and especially PlayStation fans. Astro is also a PlayStation 30th anniversary celebration of sorts. 🎉🎉🎉
This game seems to started the whole crossover style of gaming with PS games into one from PS1 to PS5 games. As you can witness some iconic characters throughout the years of PS games and this game still be in updating new characters to shine in this game through DLC content. 😄 I hope you both give it a try to play and witness some interesting to outstanding gaming experience within playing as a Astro Bot.
Astro Bot in my brain is a combination of two things. The first thing is that it's a celebration of Sony's 30 year history in the gaming industry. There are 300+ bots to rescue across all the levels and more than half of them are dressed up like characters that have appeared on Sony consoles, my personal favorites being Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske from Guilty Gear, both sporting their classic designs from PS1/2. Tons of fan favorites and super deep cuts, seeing someone I knew always brought a smile to my face! The second thing, is that it's one of the best modern platformers on the market. Very heavily Nintendo inspired in that aspect, and the devs even hinted at that while giving out thanks at the Game Awards. The way I like to describe how it feels to play is, it feels like the developers ran through the game tens of dozens of times, and any time there WAS a dull moment, they found a way to make that moment one that would make you smile, it's impossible to drop your smile while playing the game, there's always something interesting going on whether it's related to the gameplay mechanics or just some cool graphicsl details or even your controller doing something with the vibration, which btw this game makes TONS of use of the PS5 controllers features, in fact there was an older game in this series that released with the Playstation 5 called Astro's Playroom and it was free and pretty much a tech demo to show how amazing the Dualsense is, and Astro *Bot* takes it even further. I'm hopeful Astro Bot has a bright future now, Sony honestly might've accidentally found the perfect mascot. Hell, he might even end up reviving a few other franchises too. Half of the discourse surrounding this game at launch was people lamenting about all the dead or hibernating series that pop up in the game, but Astro Bot hopefully can represent a change.
I really love you playthrough with DMC 5 but I would really love it if you guys react to all cutscenes of DMC devil may cry I Know it look bad but it's funny for most of us believe me playing it will make you wanna break your controller
*If you ever get back to Far cry, I really hope you check out Blood Dragon, although a spin off, it's incredibly hilarious, though my one gripe was that it's really short.*
Guys can react to the new Characters Climax of KOF XV? (This days the game introducing more characters) And same for the dialogue of all of they plssss 😅❤
Astro bots the game where it should be on all platforms but isn’t which is sad but it’s still fun And this game has a lot of references to other franchises like you saw with god of war,Uncharted and Helldivers theirs a lot more but if you want a relaxing game this is a go to

Started as just a little demo on PS4 back in 2013, becoming a great game on it's own, and won best game of the Year Award.
Actually on the PS5

Astrobot is a genuine joy to play and is 100% worth checking out if you have the chance.

After the game awards Playstation has ZERO excuses not to make Astrobot their mascot.
