I've been driving since 1948, having owned 45 cars over the years, Some were new, many were "previously-owned." My life expectancy was about 63 years when I was born. I have exceeded that by more than two decades. I will wager that my Lexus LS400, manufactured in 1997, will be my last car and it has been my best. I look forward to riding in the all-electric Lexus equivalent to my LS400, whatever it is to be called, but I doubt it will much quieter or more comfortable than my old veteran sedan with a little over 181,000 miles and no failures on the road. I considered buying an LS but ended up with a GS instead, because I wanted that slightly more sporting feel. Then 2JZ prices became so expensive that it made more financial sense to buy an Aristo instead, so I sold the LHD GS after buying the Aristo.
I wondered if you would cover the LS/Celsior given it's atypical nature for the channel, yet having such historical significance. We had two UCF10s, both so comfortable and smooth, and though not ours anymore, still on the road today. For a car not taken seriously when in development, that legacy demands respect.

Sweet! The theory about next wave JDM cars like these coming to U.S and Europe as really sought after cars is already in motion. I've noticed here in the North of EU that the JDM importers are generally bringing in more and more full size sedans compared to sports cars or even so called regular ones.
I have a 91 LS400, absolutely love it, mine has cloth interior as well, obviously not as good as wool but still extremely nice quality and much prefer it over leather
I go with it every week to Dubai it's beautiful
Proud owner of a 2000 LS400 with 159k miles and counting.
My Mother drives a 1993 LS as well. We cherish these Japanese automotive masterpieces every day.❤️
Thank you for this detailed review of such a beautiful Celsior.
1UZ for life.☝️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think the 2000 was the best of the LS series.
I would love to take a look at the 430 equivalent as I recently purchased a 430 here in the states with 218k miles. I am going to attempt to run it all the way to a million. $3,000 is all I paid with $2k of work into it now with trans fluid valve cover gaskets oil change brakes you know. Looking for more maintenance info and specs of engine compared to 1uz. Nice upload!
Heck yea! Channel your inner Matt Farah!
This is a awesome Channel!
Love the video. Would you consider reviewing a Toyota Crown Majesta of the same or similar era?
Fantastic film! Love my 1998 LS400
Very interesting
I just bought a low low mileage RWD ‘08 LS460 L.
- StarFire White
- Alabaster Interior
SUPER CAR !
I owned 1992 Lexus LS400 back in late 90’s and what a Beaty it was, definitely one of the greatest cars from that era.
My '98 will be 26yo next month. It is still my daily driver and a joy to own. After 20 yrs. with MB, I will never return to any inferior German product.
Seats look as if taken from my groundmother's living room! , on the other hand, the car still being superiour.
Your grandmother has good taste.
That one wheel was throwing me off. Other than that very cool video. Now I want an old LS
I blur my eyes every time I see the rear left wheel. Fantastic video and amazing example. Warm fuzzy feelings
You know I think leaving a mismatched wheel and not addressing it might be a good way to drive comments lol
I considered buying an LS but ended up with a GS instead, because I wanted that slightly more sporting feel. Then 2JZ prices became so expensive that it made more financial sense to buy an Aristo instead, so I sold the LHD GS after buying the Aristo.
Can't go wrong with either, good choice!
@@2jz4life35 the Aristo is definitely a best of both worlds scenario. Supra performance in a comfortable boring looking sedan
@@interstate366 A great sleeper 👍
I really like the intro, btw your guys' vids are awesome, you guys sparked my love for JDM cars!
I wondered if you would cover the LS/Celsior given it's atypical nature for the channel, yet having such historical significance.
We had two UCF10s, both so comfortable and smooth, and though not ours anymore, still on the road today.
For a car not taken seriously when in development, that legacy demands respect.
This car and Honda Legend KA9 are my favourites
