Another great video. I like your idea to do a comparison video of nail grinders. Maybe even share your suggestions for pet parents and groomers (if they would differ). Thank you for sharing your expertise. 😊

I’ve read that you can avoid the paw hair by using a nylon stocking, poking the nail through the stocking and use it as a barrier to the hair on the foot. Of course, you’d need to hold the stocking securely so that it does not wind around the nail while you work. I’ve not tried it, in fact, I’ve not dared clip the nails of my dog! Nothing scares me more than clipping or grinding dog’s nails. Your videos help but…it is so scary!

I’ve actually seen some of those nylon stockings videos as well! Totally a great hack for pet parents (if the dog doesn’t mind that is!) for groomers it would probably take too much time if we did it on every dog 😆 but definitely a handy hack for some. I totally understand being nervous, there’s a lot that can go wrong! It takes quite a bit of confidence and patience as well. I recognize it’s not the easiest task ❤️

I've been really enjoying your videos, you should make a video about trimming dewclaws :3

Just wondering if you have any feedback on the lucky tail nail clipper.(the one with the light on the end so the quick can be detected on black nails.) Thank you n
I love and enjoy watching all of your videos.

I’ve never personally used that brand! Love that it has lights as that is super helpful. When I looked up it’s RPM it has two speed settings of 8,000 and 10,000. The high speed is the recommended RPM to prevent the tool from heating up to an uncomfortable level for pets. It also comes with a diamond bit which is a nice touch! So this might be a good tool based on that. My cons for it would be that it doesn’t appear to have much grip, the product itself if a smooth plastic which for the price you would think it would be coated in a material better for gripping. I also believe it doesn’t come with a charger just the cord, although it’s a usb plug so it should fit into any one you might already have. But all in all it looks like a pretty good grinder for at home use!
Thank you so much for the kind words❤️ let me know if you end up purchasing it how you find it to be! I’d be interested to know firsthand how it performs 🙂

Do we need to change the grinder bits overtime?

Yes! No matter what kind you choose to go with, they all do need replacement eventually. How often will depend on what kind of bit you have and how often it’s being used. 😊

Should have watched this before I sat my 50lb dog beside me and put the grinder to his nail. 🤦‍♀️

Oh no! 😬 I do have a conditioning video as well specifically to help with positive associations to nail clippers and nail grinders, might help to try and build up a bit of confidence and trust with the plan from that video. I hope next time goes better!

@ thank you! I broke up some treat sticks to give to him as I held the Dremel next to his shaking body. I’ll look at some more of your videos as well. My poor pup. 😭
