    Great video Ryan, you put in some effort explaining how to retract the piston, and fitting the sensor cabe back on, etc, exactly what viewers need to see. Very well put together. Keep it up!

    I'd have been lost without this help. My A7 has these exact same brakes. All other videos have different callipers for A7 videos😅

    Thanks Ryan, This was very helpful as its the only video I could find which had the same calipers as my car, I also changed the discs while I was at it and for general information this requires loosening / removing the caliper mounting frame bolts which I re-torqued at 110 Nm according to internet info I found. Great video thanks.

    Thank you for this video it was very helpful. Actually, I used OBDeleven Diagnostic car scan Tool to retracted piston. But I replaced the brake pads for the first time so all the other tips came in handy.

    Nicely done. Best video I've come across hand's down! And the fact you're doing it at night! Fair play 👏 certainly giving me the confidence for Saturday when I do my pads. Any idea if the brake pad warning light dissappears when the new sensor is installed or is it a case of having the code wiped? Thanks

    • @RyansWorkshop
      @RyansWorkshop  3 года назад +3

      Thank you very much, and the brake pad warning light will disappear automatically when the new pad sensor is installed correctly and providing there are no faults in the sensor circuit.

    It may be that the only thing i ever appreciatet with this car was that it was riding quietly. I watched your awesome vid, took on the Mission an changed both brakes and now i have a really weird noise. It starts at around 40 km/h and just gets louder. Like a helicopter noise. Friend who help me said it will eventually go away but hasn't after 2000 km drive 😭

    • @RyansWorkshop
      @RyansWorkshop  3 года назад

      You should maybe check the brake disc guard that sits just behind the disc to protect it, make sure it hasn't been damaged and is rubbing on the disc.

    I changed my brakes with help from this video, but i mounted that spring wrong and it fel of after one day. Should i be worried? Seems like i can live without it

    • @RyansWorkshop
      @RyansWorkshop  3 года назад

      Hello, the springs main purpose is to prevent noise and vibration, so not having one could result in noisy brakes and vibration which over time could potentially cause premature wear of the brakes, although it's not urgent I would advice replacing it at some point, they are relatively inexpensive from various online suppliers.

    Does the dashboard warning light go away after the whole operation? or do you have to reset it through a computer

      The brake pad warning light will disappear automatically when the new pad sensor is installed correctly and providing there are no faults in the sensor circuit. hope this helps.

    I've just replaced my front pads but the warning light has stayed on - is it supposed to go off straight away or after a few miles of driving? Any ideas how to reset?

    • @RyansWorkshop
      @RyansWorkshop  2 года назад

      The warning light should go off as soon as the new pad sensor is plugged in, I would suggest checking all the wiring for any damage and that the sensor is securely plugged in

    The brake light came on for me… so I went for the pads they didn’t come with new sensors so I taught what the hell I will use the old ones…. So the passenger side sensor was cut with the wires joined…… replaced the pads didn’t go near sensors…. Brake light still on the dash…. So I got new rear pads and sensors I’m hoping this will solve the light on dash 🤞🏻

    The calliper carrier should have been cleaned and greased where the pads contact it as they can stick if you don’t .
