Hello Dentalelle! I'm a new subbie and I've been watching all your videos for about 2 months now! I'm an inspiring dental hygienist and this past week was my first week on my externship as a dental assistant. I've been extremely stressed and fustrated because I'm brand new in the field and it doesn't seem like I'm getting up to speed at all! I was always top of my class with my grades so this is very discouraging and I was wondering if you think I should look to another career or try to stick it out on my externship? In not used to being this bad as a new employee (although I'm not technically employed yet!).
Stick it out for sure! It could be that the office is expecting too much or not helpful? Stick it out and wait until you start working somewhere else, OR your speed just may take another few weeks.
