Listening to this in 2019 is pretty funny. "Pepper is done he's a free man" "Natalie Portman is gone" "Do you think she would have been a good lady thor?"
If you want a topic for an upcoming show, how about an Ultimate Spaceship Showdown? Different scifi spaceships pitted against each other in combat, speed races, coolness factor, which ship you'd want to be part of the crew, etc
You mean you only found their channel now? You can go to weeklyplanetpod.libsyn.com if you want to listen the earliest. Its also the most convenient on mobile.
So it sounds like my dream of a Big Sandwich commentary track for all of the "Lord of the Rings" movies and "The Hobbit" movies will never happen. 37:00
My most disappointed movies, in my opinion, are Terminator Genisys, Batman V Superman, Iron Man 2, and Fant4stic (Trailers look promising and the cast and crew working on it were talented)
I loved the world building and the many design elements taken from classic sci-fi concept art, especially the space station itself. Also, you know the minute we get cheap bipedal robots that can do our bidding that this might be our world. :P
Thank you! Finally someone has said about Unbreakable, what I've thought for years. That it's a superhero film made by someone with no appreciation of superheroes. Thank you Maso, I thought I was going mad :D
I really liked kylo's theme in force awakens, it never gets played in its entirety but if you listen to the whole thing it works really well at establishing him as Vader's successor
Okay, I've listened to enough of these (so many!) that I'm still wondering what "grab that gem" means. Also, you hit a lot of my most disappointing movies, but I want to add (5 years later) "Days of Future Past." It's the LAST movie I allowed myself to get excited over. "XMen: First Class" was great and we were so excited to see the old cast and the new cast together at Comicon. Made my spine tingle and then all we got was a superhero SNUFF film and everyone involved lets Wolverine get dumped in a river where Stiffler finds him and they nobody ever follows up.
You guys need to make "Ring-a-ding-ding lets predict a thing" a regular part of the show. I know you did it before as a joke, but I laughed so hard. Please try to work it in where appropriate when speculating #mulletforsuperman
If you get curious about The Last Airbender, you should ABSOLUTELY watch it with RiffTrax commentary. One of the absolute funniest things I've ever seen.
They should have hinted at Brainiac in the first MoS. Jor-El could have said that the Kryptonians were forced to abandon their colonies and return to Krypton. When Zod visited that dead colony where he found the World Engine, they could have revealed that there were three giant circular craters on the planet. They could have had an end credit scene showing Brainiac receiving the signal from the Kryptonian scout ship that allowed Zod to find earth. Also, George Miller had 3 Oscar nominations and 1 Oscar win before Fury Road. He's a great director and writer.
If they actually end up replacing Lex Luthor for MOS 2, I hope they go with Clancy Brown. He's a tower of a man and he actually voiced him in the Justice League cartoon.
I read all of the LOTR books, and let me tell you, that Tolkien sure liked describing surroundings. Every leaf, flower, tree, grass, bug, bird, rock, stone...
Yall should do a Caravan of Garbage on the Grindhouse movies, Planet Terror is actually one of the best horror movies ever, although I agree that Death Proof is lacking (so was Hateful 8)
I actually got Hancock on DVD for Christmas when it came out. I watched it for about 20-30 minutes and loved the whole drunk, shitty superhero. Then I fell asleep and woke up during the storm ending thing and thought it was a different movie
Of the original (60s Batman) Catwomen, Lee Merriweather and Julie Newmar are both still alive (as of January 2021), though Eartha Kitt died in 2008. Obviously, both Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway are still alive, too. I realise this is a 5 year old episode, but felt it needed saying!
In GOTG they say that they have body mods and I guess thats what they use to breathe on all the different planets so they probably do the same with the avengers
It really annoys me they didn't mention Michael Giacchino when they were talking about composers. He did a great job on rogue one, he sounds like a modern John Williams, the perfect composer to take the mantle from John
I love the director's cut of Watchmen and 300.. The Snyder Cut was solid. BVS was one of the most disappointing movies ever. Will have to watch the director's cut one day.
unbreakable: sam Jackson did hav a cloaking device somewhat... in the sense that he managed to hide his identity til the end. he almost wanted to be caught but what i like about his take on superhero movies was so grounded
I'm usually super disappointed by movie I'm excited about, but, generally, on the second watching, I like them. The amount of disappointment is just a consequence of too high expectations - and it's getting harder not the be hyped for movies in the current age of marketing...
I found with the LOTR, The Two Towers is the best book and worst movie adventure and action wise, specially for the hobbits. Also, Guillermo del Toro worked on The Hobbit. 2022 update: they made a new Matrix and Amazon is releasing a LOTR series
While I admit that signs is dumb... I like the idea that the aliens are actually demons and that the water that burns the demon at the end is actually blessed. Blessed by the little girl. An unlikely thoery but would have made the movie so much better imo
Batman v Superman was my most anticipated movie EVER! I remember my hype level for that movie was so big and I wanted it since man of steel. It sucked and I hate zach Snyder now
I loved Prometheus And Crystal Skull wasn't great, but I think it gets too much hate. I didn't mind the alien thing because it makes sense for the time period, but it did get pretty cheesy at times.
Terminator Salvation is my FAVOURITE sequel to the original 2 for similar yet opposite reasons. I didn't watch it in the cinema or for a year or so after it came out, assuming it would be terrible. Wasn't till my mate said it wasn't bad that I gave it a shot and it wasn't as horrendous as I thought it would be. Because of my fear of it being so bad (as bad as genesys ended up being), it feels better than it probably than is. If You exclude the first 2 films, i can honestly say it is my favourite Terminator film ever made
Can we get Brainiac in mos 2? have supes computer corrupt or something and the manifestation is Russell Crowe. Idk something. I just wanna see Brainiac.
Apparently, Death Proof is a film that gets better and you can appreciate more over time because it actually tries to truly replicate what a grind house movie is, while Planet Terror is really a romanticized version of grind house films. Not saying that Planet Terror is bad, in fact it's quite ok, but it's a film that what you feel for it the first time you see it doesn't really get better or worse. Death Proof is pretty much a true replicant of them sleezy, low-budget, crap grind house, but it has a better quality to it.
First viewing I preferred Planet Terror. Now as I go and get older, I can enjoy Death Proof more and find the later parts of Planet Terror just a gross out fest that I have to be in the mood to watch (good to slip in a B-horror movie bit with a lot of campy Japanese horror films).
Sabrina Honestly, each film perfectly represents their director. Planet Terror is cheesy, cheap looking, romanticizing cheap 70s B-horror films, and over-the-top. Very Robert Rodriguez. Death Proof has a lot of talking, lots of homages, lots of effort to come off as legit, and a lot of unexpectedness that comes in when you watch Quentin Tarantino films.
Guypersonmanthing3 Agreed. Now I kinda want to go watch both. I wish it had played better that they'd attempt the gimmick again (other than Machete that kinda rolled off Grindhouse). I still want that "Don't" film that had a spoof trailer to be made. XD
I've been saying this for like a year to all my friends. It would be so perfect. And even if he doesn't play Nightwing, he'd be an awesome Tim Drake Robin.
Rorschach vs Batman? Rorschach is more creative and has less concerns about killing his opponent that might be limiting, but Batman is more skilled and has a vast array of gadgets.

It was strange, too here in 2021!
@@tamapajamas it’s pretty funny hearing them not know who zendaya was at the time too
@@ethanfranzen6145 I don’t even watch euphoria and it’s fan channels snuck into my RUclips algorithm somehow! She’s huge!
wow they correctly predicted Lady Thor and Justin Lin directing a DC film
It's funnier here in the future 2022
James called Jane foster lady Thor 3 years before it was announced
0907GC and they called another matrix movie being made
Yeah but like so did everyone else before Thor 2 even came out?
HOT SCOOP!!!

Does Mason have his own YT channel or something? I could listen to that man talk nonsense and random stuff all day long.
WyrusETS were you on that leafy video?
@@scoobysnacks1793 That's an odd name for Mason to give his channel.
The Hobbit wasn't very good but LOTR are all excellent, especially the extended versions.
Thank you guys for doing these. Love listening to them when I'm working!

I thought "Elysium" was awesome. Great story. Great message. Beautiful design. Great sci-fi.
I know I'm in the minority though....

I really liked kylo's theme in force awakens, it never gets played in its entirety but if you listen to the whole thing it works really well at establishing him as Vader's successor

Zac Efron would be a nice Nightwing...dont hate on me, the guy has chops
I've been saying this for like a year to all my friends. It would be so perfect. And even if he doesn't play Nightwing, he'd be an awesome Tim Drake Robin.

Ten months late on this comment. Well done guys. Ive enjoyed Mr. Sunday Movies for a bit and am enjoying this now as well.
Who would win in a fight at their peak? Jason Bourne or Bruce Wayne (each movie version with no Batman tech)
I'm a pretty big advocate for the Matrix sequels. The second is great until the architect and the third is okay. The direction and story and ideas and concepts were excellent, it just lacked in the film making department. It's like the star wars prequels. Good ideas, bad execution (with glimpses of excellence).

The Star Wars prequels failed because the ideas composing the story’s were BAD. Barely any glimpses of excellence.
