Eyes are probably the most important facial feature. Artists tend to spend ungodly amounts of time on the eyes when they are drawing. In this video, we are gonna compare the 5 different levels of stylization in drawing eyes. With each progressing level, the stylizations will get crazier and crazier!

At level 4, the design was actually no longer based on a human, but a cat. Facial balance is based on cats, which is the norm for most post-90s styles. The addition of fangs and cat ears rounds out the look without looking weird as the anime has its own anatomical core without approaching the uncanny valley.

I love the stylized eyes of the Golden kamuy. The eyes aren't flashy or colorful, don't have exaggerated shapes but they are still unique in every character. You will easily recognize the eyes of Ogato from Usami or Asirpa.
Also they are still realistic compared to other anime

Good video, and analysis on each artist, im surprised there was no style similar to Clannad or Lucky Star talked about though, considering I feel that's what alot of people think of when they hear about big anime eyes lol

so I realized eyes is the hardest part to switch over , I practicing in art when league of legend and old anime movies still popular (big eyes) . If you tell me to draw a realistic eyes like human or stylize a bit I can mix some edgy style in lol in it and similar to anime too. But if you tell me to copy an eye from other artist which stylized theirs eye in crazy details like rainbow colorful and super ultra promax reflection I hardly done that. I can of course copy that but it required time and even after I finished it I don't feel like...I made that work. So in short eyes in art is relate to your style and when it comes to personal style it won't easy to change.
