The fact that they have to weaken their rotation to strengthen their lineup is pathetic. The team CAN afford to keep Castillo AND sign a bat or two. But they have a pathetic ownership group.
@@drzalejandro7Casas? Maybe. Big roll of the dice when you know Castillo is going to post a sub-4.00 era every year and eat a ton of innings. This has way more to do with the M’s ownership not spending in a clear window of opportunity. The real answer is keep Castillo and sign Christian Walker. If Boston wants Emerson Hancock for Casas, fine.
@@stevenshore5126dont underestimate the stupidity of the current Sox front office. That being said the Sox are looking for a diamond worth a bag of peanuts so it probably won’t happen
I wouldn't be surprised if Castillo is traded and brings in a major Bat, i bet the mariners next target would be Arenado as he only has three years left on his contract and Seattle does have the prospects to get the Cardinals to eat some of his salary.
You don't need to give up Castillo to get arenado, at the respective positions arenado is older and on the decline, Castillo is younger and when right one of the best pitchers in the game. I give up either woo or Gilbert and maybe a top prospect for arenado. But that's just me.
I’m just not convinced dealing Castillo improves the Ms if they’re not willing to spend. Who is replacing him in the rotation? Emerson Hancock is not that guy, and just a decent #3/#4 costs money. So if you go out and get a bat and a #5 with Castillo, your offense improves a little and your pitching worsens. What’s the point? This is what is so frustrating about Ms ownership. The real answer is going out and getting Christian Walker. They have 2 or 3 more years of all this young pitching being cheap and controllable…Astros are looking vulnerable…go for it. Get this rotation on the playoffs and it’s a pretty scary team to face.
Roki Sasaki would change things a bit, but I don't even think the low end of the budget projections for this team are where ownership set it. The IF is a mess and they are gonna sell us that the trade for Randy at the deadline was a move for this season and they are confident in the lineup.
Again?! Wth ehy would you trade him? On top of Gilbert being a free agent and potentially gone? Trade woo or gilbert maybe miller keep castillo and kirby! Hell of a one-two punch at the top! God wth are the mariners doing!
ALL they need at 3b and 2b is a player that can hit and contribute some production. LIke: .260+/12-15hr/65rbi's. Decent bb/k and oba .325+. Keep Castillo, protect the SP stable of studs.
Don't trade Castillo unless they fleece a team. If not, turn all attention to a team like Tampa for Lowe or/and Diaz where they don't need to trade Castillo.

With that being said, Boston has what they need.

Boston would want one of the young starters for Casas. You do not give up a potential 40 HR bat for a 31yp pitcher under .500 at $23 million/year

The Padres got rid of Snell and Soto, and got better.

tbh tough to hit a topic like this. Mariners are so f'ing frustrating to follow. Brilliant built SP and they're just shitting on this prime window
I really want the Mets to get castillo
I think we give Paul Blackburn and Jesus Baez I don’t know

Sasaki won’t be a Mariner. Dodgers or Padres….bet on it.
agreed
Who’s that knocking at the door? Oh, it’s the Dodgers again.
Baty and McNeil/ Marte....
Y'all think Yanks can get him for any good prospects minus Spencer Jones and Dominguez?
47 yrs of failure.. nothing is going to change..fans are just lemmings
Brett Baty and ryan clifford?
Meys need an ace
