Nice but for Around 5k no way! You can get a used Garmin 430 (non WAAS) for Around 4k that allows you Nav/Comm./Non Precision GPS approach. For half the price you can get a Garmin 300xl (clunky interface and we'll see how long databases will remain available) that allows for Comm and Non Precision GPS approach. Ultimately, the higher end Trig should cost no more than 3k as like the guy says, it really is only going to be a secondary Nav Comm.
$3500 @ AS&S for the tx56a (10W vs 16W power version, non-Euro channel spacing). that's slightly more than a used 10-15yo SL30 is running on ebay right now.
I’m not a pilot, but AP IA. I didn’t know 2 comms were required for IFR, 91.205 states “suitable for route flown”. Unless there is another interpretation? Video said part 23, but those should be certification requirements not rules for what you need to fly outside of how it’s built
While I think NAV/COMM has a place, the price of the things have never been very budget friendly unless you go with something used or from MGL, which likely discourages a lot of customers.
I’m in agreement with others in the comments here. I can find a used G430 waas online for 3000$. I don’t think I would spend the money. It’s got it’s place and I’m all about traditional nav coms, just has to be priced better.
Yes, there are several advantages to AM in this application. For example, if two planes transmit at the same time, you can often still understand one of them.
Seems like a perfect replacement for everyone’s failing kx-155. Assuming it’s price is reasonable it will save people money by not needing at least a 430 or something…
I like their thinking on the reasons for this setup. I think its over priced but what isn't these days in aviation.
Awww snap, this will be a great replacement for an aging SL 30 and not everyone wants Garmin gnc 255,so glad to have other available options

5 grand. We need one big glass with everything in it. Not a pricey messy patchwork.
That would be the GTN 750Xi for 19 grand
Three years too late. I have been waiting for it forever and on every exhibition TRIG said: Soon! Working on it. Now I got a GNC255A 🤷🏻♂️

No way. Great idea and probably has a place in a lot of aircraft but WAY too pricey
Why, other than space, for that price just get a used garmin 430
Hokey Smokes, Batman. At $5k, that is a lot of 💰 What am I missing? Is it all plug and play, or do I need to buy more accessories to make it work?
Are Aviation radios AM? As opposed to marine radios which are FM.

The TX56A and other TRIG products are all very popular, extremely high quality, excellent engineering. Head over to CostAero for the deals on avionics
$4400 USD for a secondary COM/NAV? Wowzaaa
Is this slide in compatible with a Garmin SL 30?
5175..... Dollars? forget it.
But is it tray compatible with a KX155?
No way. 155 is a much taller unit.
What’s it cost? And what about vor heads?
Did you watch the video?

$4480 for the A model is kind of steep.
I really hope this was not the most interesting product announcement today... :/
