- HUGE THANK YOU TO @trigavionics Without you guys we couldn't have done this part of the build AND have a such tiny transponder with everything we need! Follow along as we run wires through our 1939 J3 Cub with the fabric still on. A lot of the ground work was done when we installed the radio, but we still had to make some custom brackets to mount the GPS and Transponder antennas. Lets just say, I'm happy with my work.

Loving the progress cant wait to see her get up in the air
Me too! I’m hoping to get done quickly after OSH.
👍☑ Keep pumping these out Carl, loving the content and video style.
Thank you! The last two weeks have been a huge undertaking of work a editing. I’m going to have to slow down after OSH, but still going to make some great progress.
@@flywiththeguys 👍☑ no problem, even superhumans deserve a break.
That's a sweet little unit Carl. Have a great time at Osh. Safe skies 🇺🇸🛩️
Thanks Kevin. I can’t wait to head to OSH. Just wish I was flying this there.
@@flywiththeguys I can imagine. Hopefully next year. I have never been, but am hoping to make it happen next year. I am currently working on my PPL, maybe I can actually fly there.
Nice work. A couple things though. Loctite on all those nuts and bolts, and trim those bolts above your head so they are flush. Wouldn't want you piercing your brain on some bad turbulence.
I’m getting new screws and nuts that are just right. I actually cut those down too! Thanks!!!
Quick question ☝
What is a good beginner's headset?
Any recommendations
We have a materials video that we make a good recommendation in. It'll get you through training and then you can get a nice set as a reward! I fly with the Zulu 3's personally.
Mornin Guys!
👍☑ Jesus man, no chance with you around LOL
Morning!
Hello. Thanks for your time. I am interested in buying the same kit. I would appreciate it if you could let me know where and how can I buy one. Thanks. Greetings
Sorry I cant be of more help. I worked directly with TRIG on the project. They were kind enough to provide it for the build. I can say though, I'm wildly impressed by it all, and how easy it is to install.
Have the trig in my glider
Nice! Wish we could share pictures on here.
@flywiththeguys a lot of gliders have trig equipment because it is small and low power. I have the trig radios too, the same size.
Squeak 1200
OMGoodness! I love that!!!
@@flywiththeguys Couldn’t help myself.
What did that setup cost.
I thought the Levil device could also control your radio and transponder?
They do not. I’ll have to check to see if the radios have an input for that, but I know the iLevel does not have con stuff built in… yet!
Is the J3 a certified aircraft now in Experimental? If so how did you accomplish that? EE?
Yea, it was converted to EE back in the 70's when they put the engine on it. I'm still learning about flying under EE rules.
Im working with a DAR about converting my Stinson 108 to EE after watching Kyle Bushman. I know you are covered, but a video on this subject would be very valuable to many of us out here considering that transition. As I understand it is NOT as limiting as many make it out to be.
thanks for all the good content.
I know ‘worlds smalllest’ is to get clicks, but frankly, these electronics need to get smaller/cheaper… personal aviation needs saving!
Probably a function consolidation eg radio+ transponder and just 1 head unit
It is the smallest right now, well at least for full functioning. There are some UAS transponders that are smaller, but not for GA use. It I agree with the pricing stuff. Rebuilding this plane has taught me that everything is in thousands.
