My D-70 has the red glue. Have you made a video about repairing the issue.

      Hi @offthematrix5310
This Roland D-70 keyboard does not have the "Red Glue' issue. So I did not undertake this work as part of the restoration.
However, as I have been using this keyboard in a warm studio I have noticed that a number of the weights have come loose and dropped off the keys.
So I will be doing an extra video that will deal with replacing these weights. If you want to get on with this before that video is published then you will need some Caustic Soda to melt and remove the glue. Remember to undertake this in a well ventilated room or outside, where a face mask and rubber gloves. This stuff is nasty. Use white wine vinegar to wash the keys and weights once you have finished and then use lots of water to finish the cleaning.
      Hope this helps. Jon

I just found your D70 video, I'm very happy and thank you!
I bought the last new one from Roland Hungary back then.
I would like to ask for your advice. The small weights have "melted" off the bottom of the keys. It's terrible.
What do you think should be used to remove that "glue"-like adhesive that doesn't corrode the metal parts on the synthesizer. And what should be used to glue the weights back onto the bottom of the keys?
Thank you in advance for your answer!
    Greetings from Hungary!

      Hi @DVladtech
      And greetings to Hungary.
Please read the response I wrote against this video to @offthematrix5310 who asked basically the same question.
I will be making a video about this shortly, but based on publishing scheduled this will not go live for about 5 months.
      Hope this helps you. Jon

Hey John, did you change your D10/20 power to IEC C14 connection? I'd be interested in how you did this and replicate it on my D20.

      Hi @velonaut303
The Roland D-20 has actually been recovered from storage. But I haven't reminded myself what work needs to be undertaken on it. In the middle of a Roland R-8 restoration at the moment, which I though was going to be fairly simple, and has turned out to be a little more involved! Jon

      Hi @aadivasimusicalvlog
Sorry not sure I understand the query you have raised.
When you state 'Can I get a XP-30 keyboard?' do you mean will the Roland XP-30 key bed fit the Roland D-70?
If this is the case then the Roland XP-30 is a 61 note key bed and the Roland D-70 is a 76 note key bed. So the key bed is not transferable between the two keyboards. Although components like the physical black and white keys may fit both models. Jon
