Regardless of what you think of Anguish the weapon, the method and the lore associated with getting it is insane! The 'dream world' that the Dran is in at the end is more of a collapsed simulation than anything. It feels very much like implying that Remnant 2's current existing worlds are in fact the copies of existing worlds long gone, and that the only real world left was Root Earth which has been isolated in the system like a malware virus on a computer. The Dran's ability to go between these varies worlds is stellar, and would imply he knows how to manipulate it because he's the only one truly awake (hence why he keeps telling you to wake up before he disappears).

I rerolled my campaign and I got ALL of these locations on my first roll, probably just good dumb luck. I had the Nightweaver on Losomn along with the Ethereal Manor (which I avoided), I had Tal'ratha's prison on N'Erud, I had the Red Throne on Yaesha, and of course the Ward, Labyrinth, and the Root Earth locations are a given. Once I cleared the trainyard on Root Earth, it took me about 10 minutes of teleporting between these zones without having to roll a single adventure run and I found him each time, before getting Anguish.

I am running a Nightmare Campaign and it just happened to be a perfect roll for this item. I got the Ethereal Mansion, the Red Empress, Morrow Parish, and Tal'Ratha's Refuge all in one run. I haven't gotten to Root Earth yet, but I am loving that I can do it all in this single campaign after I clear it. Would have never known it without this guide!
If you don't want to or can't because console use a save analyzer, I highly suggest using the awakened king to farm for the mansion as the first zone you go to after the default forlorn coast spawn can be a zone where the mansion can spawn so just keep re-rolling the awakened king until you find one with the second zone being what can spawn it, then explore it until you either find it or if its not there then reroll. its probably one of the fastest ways to find the mansion without using an analyzer

PS5 player here. It wasn’t bad. Most people aren’t realizing that you can use campaigns and adventures from your friends so long as everyone started the quest. I did it in a squad of three. We had everything queued up and bounced from one instance to the next.

@Blaze1990sp when it starts you can't die at all. So make sure you're on lowest difficulty and you have the campaign at least cleared out

I found the Dran at the red throne prison cell area but when I switched to campaign he wasn't at fractured ingress? Any ideas as to why?
going to be honest, getting this after learning how wasnt hard, it was harder to get the Tranquil Heart imo.
Unless you’re like me where you quickly got the exact role needed for tranquil heart while spending many hours upon hours just trying to get the manor event to spawn….

I remember my friend pulling his hair out trying to get the scavenger's bauble. It was one of the first amulets I ever got.

Ok, for those struggling to make the thing spawn at the time of writting this, the analyzer don't makes the "Dranception" event even when it's there already, so i kind of found a way to make it a bit less rng.
Start adventure in dlc, roll until you get Cotton's Kiln, it will be the first zone after the guy giving the speech, you have to make sure, it has no injectables, it seems it can only support one injectable, so if it has the graveyard one for exaple, re roll, make sure it has none, as most likely the analyzer don't recognize Dranception as an event right now.
It worked for me the first time i saw this pattern, so i hope it works for others, until the analyzer gets updated again and recognzie the event.

If there are people wondering why the dran doesnt appear in the labyrinth here is the answer why: if the campaign playthrough was started before the dlc dropped, you need to restart a new one.

This is easily the most surreal and beautiful quest in this game with the final area being beautiful.
Xbox player here. Only took a couple hours to complete. If you reroll the one true king map and run pretty much straight and past the guy that doing his speech, that dungeon is going to mostly always be a fire dungeon map. Just speed run it looking for the manor and reroll if it doesn't appear. Only took me a few rerolls to get it.
I can't even imagine how people first figured this out. I will never have the patience for that but I'm glad they put fun things like this in the game.

Feel bad for everyone who re-rolled the DLC before getting this quest line. You could get lucky with a campaign roll and have every place that you need so you can have the weapon in 15 mins versus days or hours of trying.

Fun fact!. the file folder for this quest has been in game since lunch.. i have seen it over the save guardian it has been eating me for a long time to know what it was.. finally i can get it
good things to note, if you go get the drans dream with a 3 man team. using 1 gives all three the gun leaving the other 2 with extra drans dream you can bring other people to drans dream for the gun. i did it for a couple people.
Same thing happened... Some guy came online coop.. Poped his drans dream and we both hdad the gun.. Willdo the same.. I haven't tried it but u guess it will be usable once...

i made an infinite ammo high fire rate build with alchemist gunslinger, high crit chance and devoured loop, and Nightfall/monarch and Anguish. the goal was to keep swapping between Anguish and Nightfall spamming their mods, but Anguish apparently doesn't generate mod power. once that gets fixed, i think it will be amazing. its stagger power is stupid high, so you can keep a decent size group of mobs staggered the entire mod duration.

This is actually a very flexible search. I jumped from adventure to campaign and found it all in an hour. Had my best tank build on because I drew Bruin boss at the end. 😂
For anyone searching, in my experience, the Remnant 2 save manager does NOT specifically list the Ethereal Manor. Instead, I had to search for one of the burning areas (Cotton's Kiln, Butcher's Quarter, etc) until I found one with no injectables at all. I don't think the save manager recognizes it yet, so it leaves it out. No injectable means there is nothing conflicting with the manor spawn, so it should be there. Also, the Consecrated Throne (the zone after you Liquid Escape) can show as an injectable regardless of the presence of the Manor, so don't use that as a compass. EDIT: It looks like Save Guardian was recently updated as of 11/19. I haven't tested it, but manor *might* show now.

Its called Dranception
@nFExo Dranception is the name of the event itself and shows on all of the world rolls that can have the Dran spawn for this quest. For instance, Dranception will show on the anazlyzer for any Nightweaver Losomn roll because the Dran's spawn is in the asylum basement. But specifically, to start the event, you need the Etherial Manor injectable, which does not show on the analyzer.
I completely randomly acquired this weapon! Insane to see how it happened because I didn’t know how I came into possession of the dream and by chance used it, turned in the vessel and BOoM! 💥
This was literally as hard to unlock as the archon class. Absolutely psychotic requirement.
??? You know if you lucky enough you can get this in 1 campaign run? If you roll morrow parish with a side zone with the manor. Then get red throne and forgotten prison too.
It’s really not as tedious or long as archon.
Completed it in 90mins with that lucky one campaign run.
Apparently I have Tal’Ratha and Red Throne campaign but not Losomn…seemingly I’ll have to roll adventure for it

@@Regianldo56I mean, you can get Archon in 1 campaign as well, with a good roll... just need Seekers, Red Throne, and Morrow Parish. Don't use the override pin on the seeker boss so that you can come back for the void heart and get the ring from the empress to get Ford's gun. And in Morrow Parish, you just need to make sure to grab the Dreamcatcher so you can get Invader. Then it's just a matter of beating the game, leveling up Invader and Explorer, and buying the remaining equipment.
Having multiple saves makes it FASTER, sure (since you can get the classes in a separate roll and then go through the process of leveling them up in the new roll) but my husband and I got the perfect Archon hunting campaign roll on our coop characters.
important note, if your campaign was completed or past these zones PRE DLC the dran wont be in the labyrinth, and likely root earth. Before pursuing this weapon you should reroll and do campaign because otherwise you have to get thru to root earth without dying.
Do I need to start a new campaign? I played my last campaign run at veteran and turned the difficulty up to do forgotten king when I stumbled across this quest. Everything worked fine first half, but when I go back to the stage where you return to your campaign and hit ingress, the dran is not there for me.

I think you need a campain re-rolled after the DLC came out. Had one from prior but drow didnt appear in any of those places, even ward 13, but did appear on adventure ward 13. (Edit: Confirmed this, need a campain post DLC launch. Try to get one with the Narud and Asylum Bits you need, as theyre the longest to get to).

I got Anguish, and honestly, I like. It’s a great deal of fun. The only question is figuring out which Mutator to use.
Sequenced Shot increases your weapon charge time drastically per charge shot making the gun way more effective. Add Archers Crest to increase projectile timing makes it much better. 🙌

I had so much luck with the run I just redo to get this weapon : Yaesha Red Throne, N'rud Tal Ratha, Losomn nightweaver. The only one thing i had to create an adventure was to start the event at the etheral manor and i had it on my 1st attempt :p

For anybody chasing ethereal manor on console
Reroll losomn and get the nightweaver roll.
Just put on a sprint builld and run to the first side mission door. Its usually a fire door. Pop in look for the mansion. If no mansion leave and sprint to the first main quest door. If its goes underground to a tunnel just reroll. If not a tunnel, then its a fire area roll which can have the mansion in it.
If mansion isnt there re-roll and just check those two spots over and over. Once i narrowed it down and put a speed build on i was able to check both zones and re roll in about 5 minutes.
what if my first reroll put me at cottons kin as my main quest?

Managed to get this gun yesterday and yes, its anguish just to get this gun.
Interesting idea for a weapon. I'm known for making shotgun sniper builds lol... gonna have to hunt this one down just to try it out. The Devastator was my favorite gun from the first game for being a shotgun sniper.

To anyone whos' using World Analyzer, Ethereal manor is not the event name, the event name is "Dranception" so if you see that then it means you have this quest. And dont keep rerolling because you didnt have the knowledge like me
Throw on the Detonation Trigger amulet and every shot should apply burning at much higher damage than the Sparkfire Shotgun.
Trick also works with merrifian and starshot

Hey I think I have a bug or something cause after I did The red Throne and switch over to story mod to the labyrinth he doesn't appear you sure you have to do all of it in Adventure mod or can you just stare on adventure then go through the campaign mod?
Well it took me pretty much all day, since I did it solo! It's not a bad gun, but I will stick with my enigma! It was definitely fun and challenging, but a must-have, if you're a completionist!

Im probably gonna grind the campaign on survivor, cause im not risking death on my apoc campaign lol, then ill so all the steps, get the dream item, and open my lobby to public, and some lucky people can get it free without the anguish
Edit: I suffered much anguish, so a couple others wouldn't. Only gonna ever do that again if I see the mansion again. I did my part.
After the Halloween event, I think collecting guns now will benefit in the long run

Because the Halloween event introduced a corrupted version of some base game weapons which are better than the original so maybe in the future we get a corrupted version of anguish that actually does damage 😂 or a better version of monarch (this weapon was a complete joke)
I got the quest started with me and some friends and I found him in the first spot inside of the ward 13 but when I went to Yasha, i found him but it wouldn’t let me press square on him. i’m assuming because I have that glitch where the Ring icon is stuck on the screen but my friends was able to and that made him disappear but when I went to the next spot in the labyrinth he wasn’t there. so idk what to do. 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️. i need help
still working on this thing. tho in my opinion, given it shoot nail, and we slit blood to get it, it should inflict bleeding
I'd even argue given how "mid" the gun feels, it should deal a different element based on what fire mode you choose to use.
Shotgun mode applies corrosive, charged shot applies explosive/burn, mod power does bleed. Thats just what I'd do with it considering there's almost no way a normal player would've stumbled upon this gun on console without looking it up online.
i was lucky enough that my 1st playthrough had most of the zones needed to just warp to them :D i love that they are still adding more stuff to the game in hide and seek puzzles

I got insanely lucky when I went for Anguish my first time. I got every world I needed in 1 campaign playthrough, including the dran "haunted mansion" that you need to start it in. I was worried I was going to have to keep re-rolling my adventure over and over again to do it.
You could do everything in adventure outside of the labyrinth and corrupted earth.
This Dran just trying to have a peaceful moment and you keep chasing him down like some stalker xD

Edit: Nevermind, it HAS to be done on a campaign that got started after the DLC release. This really is taking too long. That is a whole new campaign playthrough for a single weapon.
Hey, love the content, just started remnant 2, does this channel have full guides? like the maps are abit confusing for me when watching some videos, example, i think their is 2 parts to butchers quarters, im trying to get a bow and some armor, it seems though most content creators, literally start right around the corner from the item wanting to obtain, really looking for help, finding out how to progress awaken king, i swear eveything on my map is discoverd lol
I don't know if they changed the rules for xbox players to get this, but this was surprisingly easy to get. Took me 30 minutes, which was mostly just running through areas.

I got super lucky and had the perfect combination of worlds with all the checkpoints needed. Such a breeze and just walking through.

That's where I'm at...It would take me like all of 30 mins to warp where I need to. Hell I still need to get the heart via the ignition cap so maybe I'll just say forget it...beat the final boss and start over
The dialouge is almost like the dran is dreaming about the period of time when SPOILERS
Clementine is merged the index before realoty resets root free. Also he always resets with the worldstone sound, like us when we travel.
P.s i think the dran have their own god thats not the one true king or nimue. Its the great hag or whatever. I dont think this dran is referring to the nightweaver, but this entity instead.

Here’s the build,
Archetype; Archon: Prime, lvl 10, Chaos Gate Gunslinger: Sub, lvl10, Bullletstorm
Relic: Tranquil Heart
Fragments: Mythic Mod Damage, Mythic Mod Duration, Mythic, Ranged Fire rate
Amulet: Detonation Flash
Rings: Point of Focus, Anastasia’s Inspiration,
Focusing Shard, Feathery Binding
Mutator: Bulletweaver
Traits: (10) Longshot, Fortify, Untouchable, Vigor, Spirit,
Expertise, Chakra, Siphoner (remaining 9 points)
You will be able to spam the mod and essentially won’t need ammo or to wait for cooldowns. The spread will be a laser with insane rate of fire. The amulet will cause a small delay and massive explosive damage. Combined with the Horn with Searing Wounds equipped and its mod make for a hell of a build.
So i got a question: i eas able to roll a campaign mode for losomn with the mansion, am i able to still start the quest or does it have to absolutely be adventure mode to start the quest?

What Codiak forgot to mention is that after you use the liquid escape you must NOT DIE AT ALL afterwards. Otherwise that Dran will no longer spawn at those certain areas and you`ll have to restart the quest. Happened to me recently! :))

Got lucky and my campaign spawned every area necessary besides the red throne, and that reroll is easy.

Has to be a fresh clear after the DLC dropped. Old campaigns don't have the injectable for the Dran spawns in them.

I just found out that if you unlock anguish on one character, you can go on a different character and buy it for like 2,500 scrap from the gun merchant.

I hate that this is a thing but damn gotta love secrets that take awhile for people to find.
I mean this easter egg is actually achieveable through playing the game.
Unlike the secret of getting the Archon Class and the 2 other items within the backrooms.
That easter egg was litterally impossible to find, had it not been datamined.
I expected this weapon to be way more broken for how hard it is to get. Sad to see it's not that great. I'm sure you'd have to put on a specific build to make it really strong though.

Fun fact: if you go back to all spots you found him in and pin or aim at where he was standing, you'll get a green indicator. despite him disappearing before our eyes, his still actually there (lore accurate 😜)
Out of curiosity, if you get the manor in a campaign losomn instance, could you just roll the other needed worlds on adventure to get the respective drans?
Save Guardian is bugged anyway. Doesn't show the Manor. And when it does list the Manor is on your Map, the Manor is just not on your Map. Sometimes it lists the Manor in the Forgotten Comune within the Sewers.

Thx for this guide my brother and I got lucky and had every world we needed in campaign and the event dungeon on adventure so we just had to start it and just go to each location he was at. Very easy.
It was realy fun to look for this item! On Xbox little long if you miss the start and than looong time you are waiting to spawn this dungeon again but after it starts it's fuun(sorry but I have looooots of it)😅
I wish Anguish was a long gun. We still have no primary weapon scaling with Detonating Trigger.

Ok so I got Ethereal Manor, took liquid death, spoke to the dude at ward 13, went to Yaesha found the dude spoke to him till he said wake up and disappeared, went to campaign mode and to the Labyrnth and the dude isn't there. I haven't died, I haven't used liquid death.. I've followed this 100%.... any ideas?? Do I need to start over?

I got lucky. I was playing with a couple random guys and out of the blue he threw down something and we teleported to the dran and got the crafting material needed for anguish.
What happens if the quest resets? Do you have to reroll?

Reset is accurate. Albeit you have to reroll the manor if you die at any point afterwards. Enemies will be in the manor you used to start the chain of you try to just use the same manor again.

My guess is that if you reroll the campaign or adventure mode that you start this, it removes the quest line and you'll have to start over.

I received the quest but I was in night mare mode and the areas were not open yet. How can I receive this quest again?
So I ran into an issue at the end where the consumable was red on the quick slot and I couldn't use it. Ported back to Ward 13 and switched from adventure mode to campaign mode fixed this issue. What a weird bug.
I do everything u mention to no avail. The last dran is just not spawning on the sanatorium man. I didn't die either. Is there an explanation for that? Am I missing something?
