As someone who's owned an NP2 copy since he dropped in JP, I feel the need to warn people. Even at NP2 with Black Grail, he STILL misses kills in farming nodes. If you want him, you'll want him INCREDIBLY pimped out. I honestly think it's a sucker's bet to roll for him unless he's a favorite that you'll be ok with at NP1. Especially since both Koyanskaya and Oberon's banners will have pity (and Muramasa wants Oberon anyway)
From what I understand, his main 'problem' is that while he was great on release, the new Buster meta and the existence of append skills (ie, the existence of mana loading) made his main selling point (really, really good at looping) not that special anymore (it's way easier to loop when you can start with free 20% and when Oberon exists), while his main issue - ie so-so damage - is getting more and more hampering with 90+ and 90++ quests.
I do like his style, though - and I'm not even a Shirou fan.
@@Talyrion *Kind of*. His damage is like, legitimately low. Like "Have NP5 or fail benchmarks" low. Being Shirou just led to a lot of that being covered up by the hype. And yeah, Oberon letting much older units like Artoria and (eventually) Altera hit MUCH better numbers while being Gen Pool made him look much worse in hindsight. I think he's still a really solid CQ unit, but if you're rolling for a farmer make sure you sell that Kidney first.
@@Talyrion Last I checked space Ishtar, summer Kama and summer Ibuki still see lots of use in farming. Muramasa has problems that dont relate to buster farming, because if his problems where universal for aoe arts loopers, the others would struggle too

How high would you have to grail him to essentially remove his damage issues? Just curious, I'm not rolling for him. I already grailed Spishtar and Chen Gong to opt out of these kinds of issues.
I need all the Shiroufaces, I want him for the nostalgia of Fate Stay Night. I wish the Swordboi had different classes for different gameplay roles. Fate Ace Royal states EMIYA's possible classes as Archer, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker.
Nah we need more original servant (especially male servant) who have unique design and not using the same characters face that we are familiars with. Look at how generic and boring saber face servants looks like.

Muramasa is a complete luxury roll for me. He won't revolutionize my account. He won't be my most-used Servant. But he will be well loved. What more could I ask for?

I’m going to stick with my Jason for now. He can’t run black grail, but with enough investment he can pretty consistently loop most lancer nodes with double Castoria and painting summer (Plus his buff in the future helps address his biggest issue of damage).
Honestly if you really wanna make him loop you could just stick to plugsuit Paracelsus

You can pick Tamamo in the next (and last, for now) SSR ticket and increase his NP gain (to the point you can use BG, at least against lancers, as far as I remember) and damage (both because of Tamamo's buffs and the possibility of using more offensive CEs, like BG).
@@engrel at that point Paracelsus still works with double castoria because he gives a 50% np gain up and Jason has enough arts stacking so you don’t need Tamamo
I don't REALLY care about whose the BEST looper is. To me, Muramasa is A MUST HAVE. I have been waiting for him to be summonable since I finished Shimousa about 3 or 4 ish years ago. I NEED my boy.

I really love him. Its one of those units that scales in the gameplay and that feels really cool to see "oh he is not hitting that harnd" and when he is fully buff "ohmygod he just recharge his NP with 1 card wtf"

As someone who has multiple np5 farming servants from skama to arjuna alter, Morgan and arcuied, I use muramasa the least(but he is fun to bust out when its a full on lancer node). I use Arcuied the most since I can bring her to anything with a black grail and buster farming ignores refund. Close second is arjuna alter then Morgan. Cause juna is more consistent.
You'll find future events 90++ node to be even more difficult for farming servants and you do kinda need specific setups to mindlessly 3t and get farming done without hassle. I would not reccomend np5 muramasa if you are saving for other servants too.
As much as I'd roll for my favourite servants like np5 Bryn or Arthur, I'd kick myself if I missed out on rolling strong servants in the long run. Farming is 70% of the game and it being easier helps A LOT.
Fun fact, on JP I decided to roll for him while watching this video. Got him in 60 quartz.
Now if only I had a Castoria. Or literally any support besides Waver and Xu Fu.
Considering what is coming next year with Morgan, Fairy Knight Lancelot, Koyan Light and Oberon, I'd advise to save your Quartz.

...of course he would. Art NP damage mod is smaller than Buster damage mod. It's a unfair comparison from the start. Plus, Artoria has NP upgrade and he is not.

And like I said, it's really unfair to compare two different color in first place. Art has lowest NP damage mod, but to compensate with high refund. Buster has high build in ATK and damage but cannot refund normally.

Ive been saving as a f2p for several servants next year... but getting extra copies of muramasa might be too tempting
Og emiya is my favorite servant in the franchise. I have castoria and mlb black grail but I probably won't be able to get two unless I get Really lucky. Hopefully this boy will live up to the hype, even at np1.
He does live up to the hype, he’s really good at all content in the game, although you do need a castoria for him to be properly used
All DPS NP units need atleast NP2 to be servicable

Most (but admittedly not all) 5 and 4 stars are more then serviceable at np1, even if you cant 3 turn farm all nodes or min turn a CQ. Especially if you have an op support of your own.

@@asheqabeer1798 if you have enough variety of servants even at np1 you can still 3 turn or at worst 4 turn a note, I agreee NP2 or higher is recommended but there are a lot of workarounds, depending on what you have
Tldr review for me; jack of all trade,master of none. Low np damage but compensate with amazing looping ability, great crit damage And most importantly of all,shirou face.
Basically emiya but saber and more expensive.

You can't loop if you have low NP damage. You need high NP damage to regenerate enough NP to loop as ideally the character needs to overkill. Muramasa cannot loop even on Lancers. He needs plugsuit for that last bit of NP charge on wave 3.
Now Spishtar has amazing looping ability. She can regain over 100% np charge with each NP so long as there are 3 mobs she can kill in each wave.
metaslaves when the servant in question cannot produce 99 giggalaboons of damage and 500% np refund when its not np5 (np4 is not enough)

if I roll for np3 miyu despite her horrendous skill set (even before her np upgrade announcement in jp), I think muramasa is good enough to justify my gambling sides, also I personally like them

I think if he had like a longer invul pierce or better atk stat or something he’d be extremely solid regardless if you have castoria or not. But as of now he is leaning very heavily on the fact that you can double castoria. Which tbf most people prolly rolled.

Because I started at the very beginning, at this point in the game all rolls are luxury rolls for me.I roll for people I like and grandpa is one of them.
Hmm, I feel like I'm better off saving for Ashtarte. Spishtar is an amazing*"catch all"* unit IMHO.
From experience she seems to require less resources to get going. She's more forgiving for a looper.
And when farming dailies you never have to swap out for a new DPS especially since she can one shot the last solo boss in the hardest dailies. So I think getting more copies of Avenger Rin is worthwhile in the long run.
If you just want an anti everything looper, she is the better choice. But I still want a 5 star AoE saber that can properly benefit from Castoria
@@octapusxft Fair point. There's a form of status on having an SSR AOE arts looping Saber that's better than the rest of his so called competition.
And now that I think about it... I might not even get Ashtarte in the GSSR or her since it isn't a solo banner for her... So I might as well start the new year with a Saber that I can put on my support list as a status symbol.
That and I can just keep using Kiara for anti-calvary and Summer Kiara for everything else I guess... But I hope I can get the ultimate arts looper in Spishtar one day.

sadly i already have spishtar and castoria so my farming looper comp is already fixed and also im a former unga bunga buster enthusiast having several buster servants with np batteries so im also fixated on saving for both koyanskayas.
This is where I’m at with an np6 eresh in waiting. I’m telling myself that I’ll really appreciate a second copy of spishtar and more funds for koyanskaya than one bladesmith boi
@@Kidynamo123 i'd say i was pretty unlucky too when rolling for spishtar. only got her to NP2 with 700+ SQs and 30+ tickets. same with castoria having only 1 copy from 600+ SQs. that's also one of the reasons why imma save pretty early for koyanskaya because of my bad luck. i wish us both luck from rolling koyanskaya when her banner comes, i even stocked up 3 mil FP from the recent lottery to roll for Habetrot too xD

Man. Don't I just hate when Nasu goes for an untranslatable pun whenever he names things.
Like the name of the NP, 無元の剣製. I get why that'd be translated as Baseless Blade Works but the thing is that sounds exactly the same as 無限の剣製, which is the actual name of Unlimited Blade Works in Japanese. So you have a pun that you cannot exactly translate except in the most literal way, which leaves everyone confused.
Just the same as Castoria's buff, Anti Enforcement Defense, which in Japanese is 対粛正防御. Taken literally it makes no sense, because it's meant to be a pun on 対粛清防御, which means "Anti-purge defense". The kanji change in such a way as to make it sound cooler while still letting people know what was meant by the sound of the word, the translation teams pick up these names in the most literal way instead of trying to localize the pun somehow and everyone else just ends up scratching their heads as to WTF do these weird names even mean.

I like doing a 10 pull every banner, Muramasa came home (stg Sabers love me) that said so far I enjoy him. He's pretty neat and looks nice
I might try and go for one copy of him for pokedex, but I've been having rotten luck lately and I think most things where I'd use him I can probably get away with Spishtar or Zerksashi.

I'm obligated to warn people here that an NP5 Muramasa is about on par with an NP2 Spishtar on neutral, so if you're rolling for him because of farming, you better be doing it because you want a shirouface, and not because he's that cost efficient as far as gameplay investments go. #BuiltInBGVroomVroom

I've seen so much hype for him but having NP3 space ishtar makes him really unappealing right now for my account.
I got him with a two ticket roll and a multi roll. Np2 makes him broken and become even more broken when I put current new year arts CE and castoria at his side. See him deal lots of damage when I put him in a np chain.

Well, I guess this kinda solidified my choice of not rolling Saber Emiya.
Truth be told, I was initially hoping he would have taken more of a Supporter role, as opposed to the Emiya we have now. You know, he "makes" the weapons that Sabers use, so I think it would have been cool to see him buff his allies, perhaps extra for fellow Sabers, as opposed to the role we have now.
I mean, another functional Arts-Looping Saber is nice and all, but I've already figured out how to jerry-rig Jason setups on Heian-Kyo, so methinks I'm good on that front.

Man, I'll be honest, I'm kinda disappointed. Even though I'm saving to spark either Koyanskaya or Summer Kama (I can't decide xD), I was really excited for Muramasa; dude was an awesome character in Shimousa, and hearing he was good as well got me in the hype train.
I think I'll do one or two multis, for the heck of it. I like Shirou, and I don't think the low damage is that big of a deal breaker to me. I just wish he didn't need so much investment to be good.

No black grail, no fucks. Still rolling for at least np3. Still gonna 120. Ive got 1600 f2p sq saved with a small war chest I've been able to save over the last few months if I need to bust out the $. I almost never spend aside from GSSRs but my boi is worth it.

honestly, what ends up happening with muramasa for me is, I like that he's shirou and I kinda have to get him because why not, plus cool np and that's it. he's not going to be as much of a staple as say benienma in my team (even though she aint that good, just that I like benienma. hope vermillion comes out soon, don't care if she's a separate servant.) but I will get him purely because he's fun

i got him in NA because of all the hype, raised him to lv100 and I am very disapointed from his damage even with black grail and his inability to loop anything really other than lancers . So back to the good old gong

Does it make more sense to invest in Spishtar? I mainly want Muramasa just because Shirou. I already have NP2 Spishtar and now I'm thinking about just spending for her 3 copies after I get a single copy of Muramasa (Gachagods willing).
Np2 is more that enough on most dps so going any higher is only for going to 120 Ishtar ramps up her dmg fast enough and with black grail you won’t be hurting in dmg so you can save your quartz for some one else
Yes. Spishtar is way better for farming. Not so much anything other than farming though.

How does Muramasa compare to Chen Gong?
He jumps in the way of attacks directed at party members that can take a hit better than him, while Chen Gong is... the exact opposite.

Going to feed him all the grails I can and max out Fou him so maybe NP1 wouldn't hurt as much. But expecting low damage for SSR is fine with me, meta slaving too much is never good for me, plus I got what makes Arts so that will be enough.

Simple answer no. His dmg at np 1 sucks, even at np 2 you will have hard time farming some nodes, im not even talking neutral enemies here. So unless you will roll for np2, don’t expect much from him.

Emiya np initially are arts np but dw decided to change it to buster because he would be broken because of the np refunds so yeah, emiya doesn't need to prove anything to muramasa because the devs itself nerf him because he would be the best 4* servants if they keep his np at arts.
You know that Emiya was nerfed by DW on release right? He had an arts np from the beginning, but they thought that was too broken and made it buster. And now , 2 years ago they returned him his arts np, which he had from the beginning. So Emiya >
@@kael6832 yeah even with that it still isn't doing much aside from letting him spam every now and then. His S2 is still downright useless without it turned into Hawkeye and UBW only hits hard for 1 Turn and he's still hard to work with as a Farmer since he has no Charge for Convinience

His skill upgrade is enough to keep him looping for wave 2 and 3 and just put him with a kaleidoscope and he can loop just fine. How do i know this? Because i've been using him all the times in saber farming (for wave 1 just used waver or merlin if you don't have both of them you can used stella). My kaleidoscope are not even max limit broken and i have no troubles of looping, and saying that his 2nd skill used to be useless are kinda understandable but you need to understand that it was fully on dw because they really messed up a lot of year 1 servant command card and skill placement so your argument is flawed at the fundamental. Emiya is basically muramasa before muramasa was even created whether you liked it or not, and muramasa skill are not perfect either he is only good for farming 🤔.
@@lordtouchme77 yeah that's just proved my point with him. he can't farm even a 3-3-x Node unless you give him a 50% Charge and a 3rd Charger just to clear the first wave. if Sengo is just for farming then I don't know how Emiya is supposed to be any better since his kits don't have that much compared to him. the only CQ Utility he has is the Ignore Defense on his NP, 10% Atk Down, Evade and 18% Defense and that's pretty much it, Sengo at the very least can Ignore Invul, remove Offensive Buff for a safer following Turns and of course ramping up his Damage with each NP
while i'll definitely roll for him, i thankfully don't need him, i got a level 100 Jason and Cute Orangette
