Indians need to understand that we have a big power of population, we need to utilize that. We need to force politicians for improvement. Iskcon is already trying to do that. They distributed millions of books like Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. They are most successful in USA , UK , Russia and India. A few problematic points here: 1. Caste is a real issue for us. If we can talk about Western racism, they too can talk about casteism. 2. Has Bernie Sanders explicitly stated or displayed any form of hatred towards Indians? If he was talking about H1B visas, do remember that H1B is a privilege not a birthright. 3. The average American white doesn't distinguish an Indian whether he's a Hindu or not. 4. Not knowing to speak a single Indian language doesn't mean people neednt know about India. Brahmins are banned from more than 60% of the govt jobs and college seats in India. As Bernie Sanders seems to be at the forefront of this video I am wondering could you site anything he said about/against the Indian Americans? I know he is against H1B visas but that give job opportunities to all foreign nationals and has nothing to do with Indians specifically.

I agree with some things, but what Bernie Sanders says is absolutely correct. Large corporates are hiring Indians for less than 75% of the pay that they would give an American for the sake of cost cutting and cheap experienced labour. I dont blame Indians in any way for taking advantage of an opportunity to uplift their quality of life by moving to the US, but it is a fact that cheap immigrants are reducing the employability of US citizens.

If they don't have Indians, they will hire cheaper staff wherever they can. They can hire remote workers across the world. The problem is Indians are not white, not Christian and alien to Americans. This happened with the Japanese in the 80's. The Vietnamese in the 70's, Koreans in the 50's, Italians in the 50's and 30's. Americans see and identify with fair skinned blue eyed people. They hated Obama because he was a Black president. They embraced Donald Trump because he wanted a return to White Americans. White Americans are inherently prone to White people. There is nothing wrong with that. Indians are weak for wanting Americans to embrace them. The solution is build up India like China built itself up and then meet America as an equal. That is 100 years away. India is too weak right now.

Thanks for talking about this. I have always had this feeling. The US has always had a problem with Indians and India. Although that being said a lot of indian immigrants are conservatives, too traditional and some rather reject a lot of cultural change.
This video is misinterpreting (or deliberately misrepresenting) Bernie Sanders’ message. His view was that H1B visas increasingly go to foreign workers who get paid LESS than their American counterparts. I work in IT and regularly hire Indian staff through large IT companies which are either Indian based or have a large presence in India. The one thing I have noticed consistently is that quality Indian talent is paid less and forced into a bonded labor situation due to these unscrupulous actors exploiting the shortcomings of the H1B visa program. If you watch the Sanders’ speech in its entirety, he says explicitly that this system is unfair to both the foreigners they are issued to, and the Americans who miss out on roles as a result. There is plenty of racism to go around these days, luckily BS is not yet on that bandwagon. Insinuating otherwise is false information.

Prof Vamsee Juluri's words were beautiful and rang very strongly with me. I came to the US as a student and have been here for decades. I'll add a few additional things on top of what the professor said: - "Speak softly & pleasantly but firmly" is spot on. Being kind and assertive can co-exist within the same person - Don't get triggered by random people's opinions. You can't get everyone to like you or agree with you, and that is okay - Stay true to your purpose especially if you are a student on a massive student loan or new to this country. Your education/job is your priority, not narratives on social media, let your actions speak louder - People on both extremes (extreme left and extreme right) generally don't like people that are honest, work hard and succeed. Ignore them, don't waste your precious time on them - Social media amplifies loud voices and the dumbest people often cry loudest. Don't come under the illusion that everyone hates you. I have come across wonderful people from different races and cultures. Judge people based on the quality of their character, not race/ethnicity. - Stay safe, that is priority number 1 above everything else

Interestingly the rather grotesque depiction at the beginning of the video is actually about restraint. Kali the blue woman is actually killing demons who are terrorizing people. Shiva the destroyer thinks she’s gone a bit too far and lies down to teach her a lesson so that when she steps on him, she immediately stops her rampage. It’s interesting for a few reasons. 1. It shows the almighty Shiva (Batman) being stepped on by a lesser god (Robin) yet Shiva is lauded for his brilliance. 2. The image is supposed to be scary. It’s trying to show that even a good god with good intentions trying to do their job can look and even be totally evil because the god “went too far”. 3. It can easily be misinterpreted as devil worship and hard to explain the significance. Which is a totally valid criticism.

But to be fair, some of their arguments seem genuine - Indians do make up 70% of H1B Visa. This is over the high number of Student Visas already going to Indians. We highlight the point that they contribute to US Success and Remissions in India while missing the point that India has failed to provide enough opportunities for growth and research. That is why people flock to US. And if more people flock, there will be natives who will feel threatened by it and try to fight it. Rather than blame them, I would like us to work on bettering India so that people don't build for US but for India - If we keep on supplying our best brains, we will never be more than a lower mid income country

I think it's a bad idea to seek solidarity amoung jewish people. There are very strong prejudices among christians against them, and they're not always baseless. Christianity actually harmonizes well with devotional tradition in India, especially Vaishnavism. Sanatan Dharma has the potential to benefit every beliefsystem, but Judaism would be quite a challenge. They think themselves to the choosen ones...by God's own Authority. A partnership over a limited period of time is okay, they are very good in manipulation and hidden strategy.

Speak truth and speak pleasantly. However, this video conveniently avoids some facts. Indians shown in the video are high achievers, C- Level executives, doctors and scientists. However, there are so many Indians who come on H1B, L1 and work for cheaper salaries compared to Americans. It’s not the Indians on H1B to be blamed but the consulting companies who exploit them. Perception of Indians needs to change in America. It will change when we assimilate into the American society.

My mum & dad came away from india to live in Fiji in the 1930's. Both were hindus who went onto abandon their hindu religion in favour of Buddhism and they explained to us that they did not approve of the hindu caste system and class and skin colour bias discrimination and treatment of women. So we were brought up as Buddhists. Both my parents always encouraged us to always be fair to everyone regardless of race, religion skin colour or language. He always encouraged us to go out of our way and mix with people of all races. I'm greatly indebted to my parents for not bringing us up as hindus.

Your parents didn't know hinduism well. Caste system discrimination is a societal problem and not religion based. Castenor varnaa is simply classification of pple as per their profession. It is jot treatment of pple according to their caste. Indian society used this 2 differently treat pple. Sanatan dharma doesn't dictate this. Aqme goes foe color based treatment. It's not religious but societal problem. I am indo fijian and we certainly don't have such caste system differential treatment here in Fiji. Same goes for color. There's a demarcation between societal issue and religious issue. Don't use it interchangeably. Your parents, having come from India must have carried that societal issue to Fiji. There is no caste system in Hinduism, period! What your parents experienced was the height of castes interpretation by the British Raj, and sure it was prevalent throughout India by then! But Buddhism is in a sense Hinduism for export, it contains almost the same philosophical principles without the extra layers. While Buddhism can be compared to a banyan tree, Hinduism is the forest where all trees grow. Sanatana Dharma is an incredible forest, the likes of which we are just beginning to understand after a thousand years of persecution! Your parents understandably faced caste discrimination, but you can try to find out why India survived the Greeks, the Mughals and the British. I can assure you it wasn't because of Buddhism. 250 million Indians (general castes) are banned from more than 60% of the govt jobs and college seats just because of their identity in India. This is what real discrimination looks like. I agree with some things, but what Bernie Sanders says is absolutely correct. Large corporates are hiring Indians for less than 75% of the pay that they would give an American for the sake of cost cutting and cheap experienced labour. I dont blame Indians in any way for taking advantage of an opportunity to uplift their quality of life by moving to the US, but it is a fact that cheap immigrants are reducing the employability of US citizens.

This video is misinterpreting (or deliberately misrepresenting) Bernie Sanders’ message. His view was that H1B visas increasingly go to foreign workers who get paid LESS than their American counterparts. I work in IT and regularly hire Indian staff through large IT companies which are either Indian based or have a large presence in India. The one thing I have noticed consistently is that quality Indian talent is paid less and forced into a bonded labor situation due to these unscrupulous actors exploiting the shortcomings of the H1B visa program. If you watch the Sanders’ speech in its entirety, he says explicitly that this system is unfair to both the foreigners they are issued to, and the Americans who miss out on roles as a result. There is plenty of racism to go around these days, luckily BS is not yet on that bandwagon. Insinuating otherwise is false information.
You can only wake up the one who are at sleep, you are not going to convince any in West by speaking the truth. They already know Truth or at least the one who makes the calls know it, but still their goal is the eradication of the Sanathan Dharm. Prof Vamsee Juluri's words were beautiful and rang very strongly with me. I came to the US as a student and have been here for decades. I'll add a few additional things on top of what the professor said:
- "Speak softly & pleasantly but firmly" is spot on. Being kind and assertive can co-exist within the same person
- Don't get triggered by random people's opinions. You can't get everyone to like you or agree with you, and that is okay
- Stay true to your purpose especially if you are a student on a massive student loan or new to this country. Your education/job is your priority, not narratives on social media, let your actions speak louder
- People on both extremes (extreme left and extreme right) generally don't like people that are honest, work hard and succeed. Ignore them, don't waste your precious time on them
- Social media amplifies loud voices and the dumbest people often cry loudest. Don't come under the illusion that everyone hates you. I have come across wonderful people from different races and cultures. Judge people based on the quality of their character, not race/ethnicity.
- Stay safe, that is priority number 1 above everything else

Interestingly the rather grotesque depiction at the beginning of the video is actually about restraint. Kali the blue woman is actually killing demons who are terrorizing people. My mum & dad came away from india to live in Fiji in the 1930's. Both were hindus who went onto abandon their hindu religion in favour of Buddhism and they explained to us that they did not approve of the hindu caste system and class and skin colour bias discrimination and treatment of women. So we were brought up as Buddhists. Both my parents always encouraged us to always be fair to everyone regardless of race, religion skin colour or language. He always encouraged us to go out of our way and mix with people of all races. I'm greatly indebted to my parents for not bringing us up as hindus.
