I like your work ethic. Not many young uns seem to care enough to show such diligence I wonder over time if you’ll discover how useful an axe is for cutting bricks and blocks? Your videos are just great, as it should be, thanks and well done Sir
Been watching the vids for a while Charlie, and only today come across your fights not only can you pick and dip quick as fuck but drop some decent digs in the ring 🤣🤣.Fairplay
hi charlie, just ordered on ebay m10 rod and m10 wing nuts . rod 1m long . going to use on blakes profiles when blockwork is 1 block each way eg 450m and 550mm. rods cost £4 for 2 rods . pack of 10 wing nuts £4, cheaper than other stablisers for sale.
Top vid👍 always up for saving a few squids..that box sections pretty cheap on e-bay too compared to the off the peg profiles ..the firm I order from do nxt day delivery too..nice👌🍻
Alumininu is best, lighter and corners are 90 degree sharp unlike steel as its rolled, so you get a curve on the corners. Mine are 50mm x 50mm x1.6mm an 2.4m long. Prefect
Be useful in an ideal world(site),but unfortunately it’s not,how many brickies do you know that’s still got the gauge tape still on their profiles, not many because they gauge with a tape due to all types of discrepancies especially coming out of the ground on the footing, save you time and invest in a good rotating laser level, you can use it to set everything out you need to,and find high/low spots, start off right and 9/10 times you’ll be flying along..love your work and your enthusiasm by the way.....
instead of messing around with a scriber why not use a pencil and than an angle grinder with a thin cutting disc and make a slightly deeper mark that will be seen for months.
Perfectly fine of you're house bashing on traditional builds. As soon as you land on timber frames and extensions, forget it. Its very rare that the latter will work guage. If you're an apprentice, dont confuse yourself even more. I spent a year bricklaying in Oz, where they will even build a .450mm pier with 4 profiles. The amount of time the idiots relied on the scribed guages. Just get yourself a laser and a sharpie, ladies and gents.
I cant stand multi tools theyre the worst sounding tool on site but they do have their uses as youve just proven although you do get on the odd tradie that seems to use them for everything who tend to very lazy

Nice a neat mate, I carry a carpenter's
speed square, ideal for this, and 45 degree cuts . all the best 👍
you can use a kitchen green scouring pad and some wd40 to really get the metal clean and uniform looking
Good practical demo - thanks for sharing 👍
like the idea of having 2 different videos. Shorter "tips and tricks" and longer vlog.
Well satisfying ! A another good idea Charlie , is wd40 and a quick cloth to get rid of pencil marks at 8am in the morning 😎
Use some wet and dry paper and it will shine like King Arthur's sword in the sun.
Using tape u could change layouts for each job

I put a small cut on the corners of mine with a hacksaw, stays there forever.
Do that too bud and scribe all faces👍
Me too, but it’s worth taking the time and scribing all across.. better job
Good idea pal
Good dog, it's Morrissey wiv tats. Luv Morrissey.

What metal are the profiles made of and where can I buy?
Aluminum?
Aluminium square hollow section can buy it online themetalstore.co.uk
Hey Charlie I'm no brickie but try cleaning the profiles an use blue painters tape then peel off

Where do you order yours from?
Good job Charlie 👍
Mild steel or aluminium wich one would be best for profiles

Could you tell me please what dimensions are the box section profiles ?
Will be 50mm square and 2000mm ish long . Probably 2mm wall thickness so it's not too heavy
We use too many different size bricks in Texas , King Size , Modular , Queen Size , etc
Gauge each side to the different brick then pick the side that you need?
Yeah, what Charlie said! Sorted.
Nice video Charlie thanks for sharing, is there a reason why you don't use the gauge tape on your profiles?
Good job 👍 keep up the good work 👍
@@jims5394 ah interesting thanks 👍
Scratches off and it can stretch giving incorrect measure.
When it peels makes it hard to slide plastic clips
Acetone or a bit or lube I reckon 😜
Do not get those 2 mixed up in the bedroom... 😳
