As a scorch main, I gotta say - inferno shield is a must have. You have no time for mid range fights where you stand and aim, you always move to the enemy and apply pressure. As long as they have time to gather their mind, you're losing the fight

As an Ion main, I can tell your not too familiar with it. Zero-point trip wire is arguably the best ability. It allows you to use your energy to block with your Magnetic Shield while still damaging rushing titans such as Ronin with spamming trip wires. Really the magnetic shield just shreds titans like Ronin, Monarch, and especially Legion. I will say if you aren't going Zero-Point Trip Wire, then the Refactor Lenses is decent. Just depends how you want to use your energy. Ion might be the easiest titan to play, but by far the hardest to master with your resource management and timing with your shield blocks.

    • @YaBoiiMarz
      @YaBoiiMarz Год назад +8

The thing with is that an experienced player can counter them so easily. With the trips on ronin you can just phase pass or hell on other titans just disengage and look for a better fight later. Her laser shot is generally a good ability that I think in the hands of good ion mains can be devastating. Her vortex shield absolutely destroys newer players and as you said especially Ronins legions. However as someone who's maind both legion and Ronin extensively, a legion can simply just not shoot and try to wait out some of the cool down before popping sheild and spray during the last half since with good timing most bullets fired back will be eaten by the shield leaving an ion mostly defenseless, with ronin its a simple as closing the gap as his sword deals damage through vortex. I do think ion is a great character who is of course effective in a good players hands. A good ion will be able to out play a ronin trying to close gap or even a legion trying to bait out vortex shield timings. Which I think is a great thing it's this level of depth to titans where knowing how every abilities work and where your titan lacks creates an environment where newer players still enjoy the wailing on things with a giant robot and can even find success and the experienced players can create this game of cat and mouse trying to widdle down the other. It's what makes titanfall so great for me you have this marriage of fast paced moment to moment gameplay of a pilot where quick reactions and good movement are required for survival while titans are this game of either destroy every small thing in your path or a game of equals trying to bring down this giant death mech. Just really impressive respawn was able to make both work so perfectly.

this is possibly the best take I've seen in the comments, i play ronin a lot you can tell he like to play ronin as fast as possible, with little to no regard for his own life rushing in and spamming things as much as possible. you can also tell in his description of the titan he's played against some really good ronins but hasn't actuality learned to get good at ronin himself, like how hes calling sword block op when he only uses it when cornered and his ability on cooldown. ive sunk way more time than id like to admit into ronin and i still have more to learn but id say the first step is to slow down a lot and learn to weave together dodges and combos.

I agree, however I think he just straight up does not know what the heck he's doing with scorch. He constantly was backing away down long hallways, actively putting himself at an incredible disadvantage. Scorch is a close range titan that can shred through enemies with flame shield. I'd even argue it's the best defensive in the game. Also, because he thinks he's a sniper, he gets no value out of the mid to close range flame traps that have the ability to put enemies in near hopeless positions. He's all about close quarters and area control, something this guy does not quite grasp. Also flame core does an incredible amount of damage and can kill titans with 2 bars of health left including doomsday. I hate to hate, but this placement seems like a skill issue. As a scorch main, I can get top three pretty often.

The best way to play Northstar is to stay away from everyone and keep moving while looking for opportunities to deal damage. I am a Titanfall 2 veteran, I have been playing since 2017 and each of my Titans are at least generation 4. Here some corrections I feel I should point out.
Someone's already said this but Ion's tripwire is very good. High damage and the blast radius on this thing is actually fucking ginormous, I am continually shocked at how high up it will kill wall-running pilots.
There are only two viable Scorch kits: Inferno Shield and Tempered Plating. Yeah the extra damage Wildfire Launcher gives is nice when you hit your shots but the two aforementioned kits are just so important you're actively screwing yourself by not taking one of them. You NEED the extra duration on Thermal Shield or be able to play more aggressive by going into your own fire. Also fun fact, a full Inferno Shield will kill a Legion from full HP, so if you get close enough to him he's just fucked.
Northstar's Hover actively screws you over a lot of the time. Exposing yourself like that while having the lowest HP in the game is very bad, Flight Core is much in the same boat. The Nuke Eject + Tether Trap combo is funny, but is extremely situational because you want to be as far away from enemies as possible so it's kind of counterintuitive. Also Threat Optics is useless because you don't have trouble seeing everyone anyway because all the maps are very well lit and it doesn't expose cloaked pilots iirc.
The only two kits you're running most of the time on Ronin are Thunderstorm and Temporal Anomaly. Highlander is useless because you can't afford to be an aggressive frontline with Ronin when his health is that low. Trading damage one for one while playing him is a VERY bad idea, which I can attest to from years of Ronin maining. The duration extend very rarely kicks in, let alone actually makes an impact. Phase Reflex is fine but missing out on two Arc Waves AND more Phase Dashes really hurts.
Salvo Core is arguably the best in the game. Yeah it can be inconsistent at times but being able to guide them behind cover and past defensive capabilities is something no other core can do. Pulse Echo is very underrated because you can fire it and get a lock much easier behind an evasive Titan hiding behind cover that you can't hit too easily to fire your rockets. Rocket Barrage is useless in comparison to that.
Legion's Gun Shield sounds good on paper until you realize that he's not actually fully covered. His foot and shoulder remain exposed so he can still be damaged by things like Laser Shot, Plasma Railgun, and 40mm Tracker Cannon splash damage. Not the worst defense but there's way better. Light-Weight Alloys is actually his worst kit, the movement speed doesn't get improved by jack shit in all honesty and the others are just really good. Hidden Compartment is by far the best imo because you get two Power Shots for a straight up damage increase. It doesn't increase rate of fire like you said, but instead is either a shotgun blast or a mini Plasma Railgun blast only for the cost of one/two bullets.
Monarch's missiles are meh. They go all over the fucking place and can be really inconsistent with their accuracy, being basically useless past midrange. Energy Transfer is dogshit because if you choose to give allies shield you give up the only semblance of self defense you have to give someone a shield that's only 10% of maximum shield capacity. Energy Field is also useless because if you hit more than one enemy you don't get shields for every one of them. You absolutely need to use Superior Chassis because it gives you 15,000 HP, which is the highest in the game. Even more than Legion and Scorch who have 12,500 HP. Shield Amplifier is again, useless because the shield you already get is so low the improvement means literally nothing.
If you read all of this you're a real one. You're clearly new to the game but it's always nice to see new players and I just wanna help out as much as I can so they can have as much fun as I do.

As someone who has also played the game since like 2016, I absolutely second this, I’ve played a long time with every titan, weapon, pilot and lethal, my main is Northstar. The ion part for the kit advice, the kit that increases his vortex damage output is good until you start playing against smarter players who know how to counter it, but the free tripwire is the best, with the energy return on crits coming in after it, especially if you want more laser shots.
The advice for Scorch id absolutely spot on as well, those are the only two I use after trial and error with the rest, though on rare occasions when I find myself against more pilots than titans, I give it the enhanced auto titan kit and wildfire launcher or tempered plating, because scorch auto-aim is amazing, but he often walks into his own fire. Scorched earth is mostly useless because the fire extinguishes about as fast as his launchers thermite, which is pretty fast. Fuel for the fire isn’t all that great because firewall honestly plays the small part in terms of damage, I primarily use it to ignite the gas traps behind the enemy at the start of the fight, my shield and launcher do the rest. As this method brings consistent results, it does pretty much go back to what he said, inferno shield, or tempered plating. Over core is typically the best kit 1 for him, because he already builds his core pretty fast, counter ready makes life more difficult for you if you use it at the wrong time, because electric smoke puts out thermite. Nuclear ejection isn’t that great outside of frontier defense, because any player with some experience can’t away nearly every time, although the fact that they have to move away may safe you when you eject, it’s not worth it’s not worth the loss of an extra 20% on your core. This goes for every titan.
Also, as much as I love Northstar, she is a liability during hover and core without viper thrusters. The enhanced payload can be better against pilots since it had a larger area, but it makes the damage less focused against titans, so you need to take that into account. With twin traps, both will catch as close to the same time, and both will break at about the same time too, not too useful, except for in frontier defense, once you get the exploding traps upgrade. Be careful, the exploding tether traps WILL kill you as a pilot. I learned that the hard way. Piercing shot Is incredibly situational, so you will get less use out of it. Threat optics can see through electric smoke, so it can pair well with the extra smoke kit, but honestly, still not that great, you want as much speed as possible with the Strider titans (ronin and northstar) which is why with both of them I always use turbo engine to get three dashes.
To quickly switch positions and get away from titans that pushing forward use viper thrusters and turbo engine. If you are aiming down sights as you start hovering, you will move slower until you stop aiming, so wait to charge your railgun until right after you press the button, and you will move at about sprint speed while being able to aim. It seems that if you used dash and then hover immediately after, you move even faster.
With ronin, all of what he daid is also correct, NEVER use highlander, outside of frontier defense that is. If you are in frontier defense, once you get all of the upgrades, you can stay in sword core without dying just about the entire wave, if you are careful of nuke titans. Ricochet rounds is also incredibly useless, the travel range and damage isn’t even reset after bounce, never use this one either. Phase reflex can be good, but it doesn’t save you from getting crushed by titan falls or reapers spawning, while stealth auto eject does. Be wary of stealth auto eject because your jump jets are very visible and you are east to shoot still without the low profile pilot kit equipped, and pilots can usually still see you pretty well while cloaked. Temporal anomaly is good, but i find thunderstorm to be the most effective because i can stun enemies i catch off guard, so they turn slower while i shoot them, then stun them again and phase behind them, then shoot them more. One mistake i see many ronin make that makes them lose is they keep spamming the sword after the shotgun is empty. The shotgun does WAY more damage, much faster, never do that. The only exception is if another ronin refuses to lower sword block, because it doesn’t not reduce melee damage from any titan. Also, sword block does reduce damage from everything else, including scorched thermite, electric smoke, and nuclear ejections. It doesn’t work against sword core swings, because that’s still melee. It reduces all non melee damage by 75%, so with full health you absolutely will survive nuclear ejections if for some reason you can’t get away. Also if you are phasing, you should almost always hold up sword block, because if you unexpectedly phase out into an enemy titan, you will instantly die other wise. It is extremely important to learn when to use ronin’s sword block.
With tone, to be honest i slightly disagree with him here. All of his kits can be good, but burst loader and enhanced shield are at the bottom because some Titans can counter it quickly and you can walk through it still. With burst loader the regular speed of firing one shot at a time is reduced. Pulse echo IS really good for the reason he said, but I feel that rocket barrage is at least close, because with it your tracking rockets can fully takeout a doomed titan, and just do more damage in general, this is important, since the rockets are toned only real source of damage. However, when dealing with groups of titans pulse echo is absolutely the best kit for tone, since it adds to the lock on for all within range. One more, very important tip for tone i learned, any Titans hit by the splash damage of tones gun still get the lock on. Using this, ive still locked onto tone behind shields, ions using vortex shields, and scorches using theirs, just aim at their feet or at the ground or wall closest to them, and you will still get the lock, even without pulse. I was fighting a legion as ion just the other day and he thought his gun shield would save him from all of the bullets i was catching from him, until i took off over an entire health bar by aiming his bullets back at his feet. However, you can somewhat move his shield with your gun to block damage from some sources. I was able to block a decent amount of damage from a flight core this way. That’s all I really have to add. By the way, legion is the absolute worst auto titan for fighting pilots, (just a reminder, scorch and ronin are best at that).
Monarch survival of the fittest sounds good, but unless you have a team of pilots bringing you batteries, it’s not much help. However, if you decide to use battery back up for your pilot boost, you can grt out of your titan and use your boost as soon as possible, then get back in before you touch the ground. This is faster if you are using phase embark. Shield amplifier is stupid, it adds almost nothing. Rapid rearm is good for stunning and getting shield more often, but energy thief is just about always better because you earn every core faster, and get that battery on executions. But DO NOT chase a titan for a battery for too long. I see so many titans, especially monarch, lose way more health than they would’ve gained and even lose the fight when i was doomed because i was able to keep distance and damage them. Arc round is always the best option, because is takes away scorched thermal shield faster, ions shield, and to my understanding, also drains ions energy that all of it’s abilities use when you hit them. It also increases ammo capacity, which is important. Maelstrom is great against rodeoing pilots, and does way better damage against titans, which is great against aggressive ronins, scorches burning you with their shield, or any titan trying real hard to execute you. Rearm and reload is generally a better choice here though. Both missile upgrades suck because regular ones can be dodged fairly easily by titans, and you can do more consistent damage against titans with your gun. Don’t even use the missiles unless they are extremely low health and your gun is empty, or you are trying to get a pilot. The lockon missiles be avoided by using cover or vortex, thermal, or particle shields, and it tells them when you are locking on, plus you cant shoot your gun until you fire them. Remember these are not the rockets from BT’s titan, they won’t lock onto pilots, grunts, or spectres. Just use the accelerator upgrade for your gun, or the heath upgrade, like he said, your make health become higher than every other titans. While it does give you some extra health it will not take you out of doomed state, though it will refill your doomed health and shield.

Scorch main here, if you’re brave enough to main scorch, I highly recommend using the inferno shield kit. Since you mobility is so low you absolutely need the extended time and damage. Plus if you are playing him on one his better maps such as complex or boom town, you can get in close to your enemies and absolutely destroy them with your shield. If executed correctly, a scorch can completed kill a full health legion if he keeps his upgraded inferno shield in their face long enough. Tempered plating is good too, but it’s not worth using most of the time because the inferno shield is so powerful. Lastly, using the faster dash + inferno shield upgraded kit is what I’d recommend for scorch, because the upgraded inferno shield is a must, and can charge your flame core almost instantly if you get close enough.

3 things. 1:Tone is extremely powerful on PC because you can lock on with your salvo core and then flick the missiles over a building, meaning you have cover but the enemy titan is about to get hit by a hailstorm. Also he can basically aimbot pilots with the tracker cannon. 2: Legion’s power shot ability is actually incredible, what it really is is a sniper/shotgun depending on the mode, and it does insane damage if the damage hits. It also is amazing for blasting pilots and only consumes 1 ammunition. 3: Monarch’s Maelstrom ability can actually be insane if you run the Counter Ready Titan kit, because you can drop like 3 smokes at the same time, and they will all stack damage and be boosted by Maelstrom, it’s and incredible close range health melter.

Salvo rockets are flying wherever your crosshair is pointed at, so you can just shoot all your salvo rosckets in the air by looking up and than put your crosshair down on enemy titan. In most cases all your rockets will hit and completely anihilate the enemy titan. And legions powershot does not increases the rate of fire but shoots 1 very powerfull shot. Ion's zero point tripwire is extremely good. My advice as an Ion main is use it always in close range. I recommend equipping the titan kit that gives two electric smoke charges. I find the most success by roaming until you see a titan, laser shot and regular fire splitter rifle while approaching it, remember to use vortex shield and return fire, then electric smoke when extremely close range and tripwire, backtrack to close-mid range while using laser shot, tripwire, regular splitter rifle fire, and the titan should be dead or doomed. Remember to hit critical hits and to use your dash wisely, especially when in close range to leave space for tripwire and laser shot. The second electric smoke charge is useful for escape from close range back to mid range, where Ion excels. This is just my personal playstyle, I recommend experimenting with her until you find what works best for you.

Keep enemies at range with effective evasive options and keep them in place with tethers, kill pilots with cluster missile, and destroy titan healthbars with charged attacks and critical hits. As a northstar main and someone who has played and regenerated all of the titans at least once, on paper, yeah this tier list is accurate but in game it isn’t really. Ronin’s sword block doesn’t deflect that much damage and you will still be shredded by a legion even while using it so it’s not really something to rely on. Ronin is a hit and run titan but that’s not to say his sword block is useless because it does still reduce damage. And if you master northstar, her heath doesn’t matter because you will know how to play her effectively however this kinda applies to all the titans. As a G10 Monarch, i definitely recommend using the missle salvo, electric smoke, and health upgrades. I found that Monarch's biggest weakness is that surviving is necessary to get going. With these three perks, you are basically unapproachable. Electric smokes and upgraded missles are insane in close range So you can both defend yourself AND jump other players, particularly ronin and scorch, who would usually dominate. It also helps with getting battery executions. As for the max health upgrade, yes, the chain gun is good, but at range you can not compete with the damage northstar, tone, or legion provide. Also, the other titans (besides northstar rip) all have a shield to defend themselves. Monarch requires usually getting into a gun fight to get shields which means you are usually just netting 0 on health, so the extra health and no crits help increase survival.

As a Scorch main. The thermite trap isn't really good for a *trap* , its best use is for extra damage. If you can corner an enemy titan, throw down your traps and firewall, then burn them with your heat shield. You'll always delete a titan's entire health bar in seconds. And if you melee when they are at a sliver of health, you'll always get a free termination since by the time your fist hits the enemy, the fire damage from your traps and firewall already got them to doomed state. But that strategy only works effectively with Tempered Plating because you'll be burning with your enemy while fighting them. So i disagree with the titan kit choice but i see where you are coming from with your opinion. overall decent tier list and while i disagree with a few placements, i understand/respect your opinions. I am a ronin main, and i can say with a fair amount of confidence that ronin is the hardest titan to use correctly. I have practiced with ronin for 7 years and one strategy I have found that is most effective with him is to focus on one titan at a time, and you have to channel some napoleonic energy, (charge, charge, and charge again)
And even if you die, if you have a team of titans behind you, you have just sowed chaos in the enemy titan lines and have given your team a chance to destroy them all!

Great video overall but I have to disagree on Northstar. She's at least A-tier overall, S-tier in titan brawl, and hard carries in last titan standing.
Northsar's main strength is dealing unanswered damage by playing around cover with the railgun. In titan brawl she'll regularly match/beat Ronin and Scorch's total damage with 2-3 deaths instead of 5-7. However, playing too passively and camping is a mistake with Northstar. Take advantage of her movement to flank, peek from unexpected angles, and pressure opponents. In LTS I often push aggressively with a Ronin player and hold the last corner while they engage.
In my experience maining Northstar her main weakness is dropping too early when there are no enemy titans, and taking significant damage from pilots. Like Monarch it's often best to wait before calling her in. With backup battery I often can doom the enemy's first titan and have flight core ready with full health.

As a scorch main I tend to use the tempered plating more than wildfire launcher since it allows more aggressive gameplay, and an aggressive Scorch can at least kill a Titan or two, the block on crits is an added bonus though, which just makes Scorch more tanky and tough.

Hello, Ronin main here. Um…yes. His kit is very strong in the right hands. None of it is overpowered. Arc wave is by far the strongest ability he has and it compensates for the lackluster damage of his weapon (also it knocks out any defensive ability or any titan instantly, which is a little broken). Phase dash is good, but against skilled players who know Robin’s tricks it can very easily get you killed (try to dash through an enemy and they dash with you, you explode when you phase back on). Sword block can even block the damage from a nuke eject, but I would still say it’s not as good as Tone’s particle wall simply because it’s too active. You can’t do anything while holding it aside from recharge dashes and abilities so it’s more for when you’re disengaging.
Sword core is cool but it SUCKS. The infinite dashes is awesome and the potential damage is insane, but anyone with ears is going to know you’re coming and by the time you have said core, you’re likely close to doomed and are more likely to be executed than actually do much damage.
Edit: also, Northstar kicks his ass. Why the hell did you stick the strongest titan in the game in C tier?

    • @HorizonStronghold

Thunderstorm is tied with temporal anomaly for his strongest kit (unless you’re in frontier defense, then it goes to highlander easily since you can quite literally remain in your sword core for the entire round). His power shot changes depending on what mode you’re in, close range grants a shotgun sneeze that will shave an entire health segment and decimate pilots from stupid range, while the long range power shot is equivalent to a northstar sniper shot. Legion is the perfect titan to harass ronins who get in your face, and northstars who constantly run from you, hes a menace at all ranges. Legions krytonite is Ion, DO NOT shoot his damn shield.

Oh man, Tone's Salvo Core doesn't do a lot of damage. Bruh, I had to chuckle at that. Best strategy you can do with her core is aim straight up, fire all the missiles from behind cover and then move out and aim at anything you want to obliterate. If you time it right you can get the 3 tracker locks to fire a tracking missile barage just as your Salvo Core is hitting from above or behind. The real, "No where to run. No where to hide." Tone is definitely best girl and Scorch and Legion are my S tiers as well.

Personally I don’t think having a titan under G2, or at least to where you have all the kits, gives you any right to rank them. Kits play a lot when I comes to how you use a titan and advising to use the weakest or mid-est of them is just setting new players up to fail.
Here’s what I use for my titans:
Ion: Grand Cannon - longer core, more damage against out of position titans
Scorch: Inferno shield - more damage to close range titans and longer use for stopping damage
Northstar: Viper thrusters - faster when I use my core and hover so less down time for other titans to shred me
Ronin: Thunderstorm - two arch waves, twice the stunning and slowing so more of a hit and run play style
Tone: Rocket barrage - more rockets means more damage and more core charge
Legion: Hidden compartment - two power shots for more damage and more pilot kills if using close range mode
Monarch: Energy thief - do I need to explain why I use this? Faster core build up, battery on execution and it fits with her play style.

Giving some tips as an G26 Monarch
My kits are: Turbo Engine, and Energy thief
With my upgrades being Arc Rounds, Maelstrom, and XO-16 Accelerator
Monarch is incredibly weak on base drop. Her strength lies in her cores, so when you play monarch, you are playing for survival and longevity.
Using energy thief is great because it builds your core faster, and the battery execution is just a bonus. Also remember that rearm is your best friend. Rearm not only refreshes your tactical abilities but ALSO your dashes. Its why I choose turbo engine, as when used effectively you have 4 dashes in your pocket. Good for easy maneuver, entry, dodges, and escape.
When using rocket salvo, in my personal experience it is the best pilot exterminator. For titans, aim near their feet, even if you don't directly hit them, the splash damage will. This is especially great when dealing with something like a legion with his gun shield up.
And then for energy siphon, if you're not in a fight, *farm literally everything*. Reapers, Spectres, Dropships, Grunts. They ALL will give you shield.
It is also a very good way to engage and disengage other titans, due to the fact that it will slow down and visually impair them.
As for the cores, Arc Rounds and XO-16 Accelerator are my top picks because its your main device for damage output. If able to reach that third core you become a force to be reckoned with. One mag dump on a beefy boy like a legion will melt their shield almost drop their health in half.
For the other upgrades, specifically the missile ones, they aren't bad, but you will do more consistent damage with your main gun than with the missiles. And it's already strong enough to quickly take out any pilot it hits.
Maelstrom on the other hand, it absolutely melts anything and everything that dares to step into it. It is an amazing deterrent for people chasing you, but when learned to use electric smoke offensively it becomes one of your best damage dealers. One thing to remember with electric smoke, the damage stacks on how many you deploy. This is also helped by energy thief because the more cores you get = the more smokes.
(My personal favorite way to use it, is during endgame if the enemy evac dropship is close enough to the ground, is to deploy all my electric smokes at once and watch the health bar drain to zero in a matter of seconds.)

    • @PuddleWaterIsTheBestWater
      @PuddleWaterIsTheBestWater Год назад

What about missile racks? I like the DPS it provides and helps with her poor Burst DPS, I agree with mealstrom because the smoke is super busted if you get up close, personally I really like superior Chassis because of Beeg health, and the Possibility’s for Titan 1v1s is insane, you get melt 3 titans in 40 seconds but what is your take?

    • @collinnkingg

    My list in ranking
    Tone
    Ronin
    Northstar
    Ion
    Monarch
    Legion
    Scorch
    Explanations:
Tone is just too good all around
Ronin is the best when you master him
Northstar does so much damage and has the Joestar Family's secret technique to keep sniping from a distance
Ion is well rounded, can launch attacks strong back, and stop charging enemies with beefy trip mines
Monarch is great when fully upgraded but just that, it's hard to upgrade them, and both before and after they're upgraded all it takes is a good scorch core or
another titan to knock monarch out. However very good mid distance shooter and staying that way with energy zap
Legion is great damage dealer, but vulnerable due to mobility and shield weak point, especially if someone gets behind him
Scorch is a fantastic damage dealer in the right situations, but being a close range Ogre class can make it difficult to close distance especially in large maps where he can just be sniped. However, if he gets behind the enemy team without them knowing it's over for them as he will set them all ablaze form behind, get his core in seconds, and smash them.
However, any titan can beat any other titan, and while this is a ranking it doesn't really mean much because they're all great, work great, and all beat each other. The only exception is if its 6vs6 titan battle and one entire team is Northstars or tones because they will win but become gay in the process because that is the second most gay thing you can do besides spitfire and A-wall every game (If you do this I hate you and I hope you get titan rushed)

For me, I have way too much time in scorch and the best play style I have for him is area denial, and flanking.
For scorch you really want to get behind the enemies.
Pick up the mobile kit it is the best kit for scorch undeniably (in my opinion). The one thing scorch needs is speed and having that extra dash cool down time allows you to close the gap much faster and secure kills. I also play with tempered plating allows you to do so much burst by increasing your survivability, as well as negating all damage from your attacks/traps.
Another cool thing is if you are in a map with low ceilings and a pilot rodeos you shoot the ceiling, then look forward. It kills them instantly.

  • @VroomNDoom2602
    @VroomNDoom2602 7 месяцев назад +1

Ion tripwire almost does almost a full bar of damage and can be free with the kit. Its AOE is outrageously huge and is a menace to any smaller enemies in the general vicinity due to the huge trigger-box and AOE. It even one-shots groups of stalkers.
Tempered plating is a HUGE deal for PvP scorch. Crit-immunity is great. The ability to combo your fire on the ground with your flame shield is plain evil. You deal stupid damage without consequence if you get a good flank. For frontier defense, the wildfire launcher is the GOAT.
Northstar is the second most pilot dependent titan after ronin. Good tactical positioning with northstar is just OP. I would rank Northstar A tier above Ion and Scorch.
I haven't finished the video yet, but I'm guessing you're a Monarch main because you called ronin the most annoying, or you haven't played much. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the only problem with ronin is sword block. Rework it and it would be perfect. Sword core isn't OP because it is FULLY COUNTERABLE BY EVERY TITAN IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!
40mm grenades bending through space to hit the titan is not a thing, you must be new, not a monarch main. The ticks from sonar and from hitting the 40mm cannon are equal except you don't need line of sight for the sonar to work. Tone's core doesn't do the most damage, but is super is easy to hit. You can miss and try again if you need to. Tone is easy to play, but lack potential. I would say same tier as Ion, but not as good as ion.
Legion is, by far, the most misunderstood titan in the game. Long range mode doubles your ammo consumption while only dealing the same damage per shot (you only get half a mag). It is more accurate, but you should use close range as much as possible to keep the lead flying at your enemies.
The power shots are very simple. They shoot one bullet which deals lots of damage. The short range one hits a big area and has knock-back. The long range one is precise and can deal critical damage. It does similar damage to northstar's railgun. Legion is actually a great counter to northstar due to the gun shield and this power shot.
Gun shield is one of my least favorite shields. It blocks a lot of damage, but only lasts a tiny amount of time. Bulwark is almost useless for this reason. You almost never have your shield destroyed with or without it.
You caught on to this: legion's smart core is your primary objective. Smart core doesn't allow for extra DPS, it just makes every bullet hit. The other great thing is that it shuts down nearby pilots trying to damage you while you are distracted by another titan.
The most common kit used with legion is hidden compartment. Alloys is a quality of life thing. Sensor array is just fun. The sleeper pick is extended ammo. With extended ammo, you can get your core without reloading. Open with a power shot, keep shooting, power shot again and boom: infinite ammo time. They never see it coming. You are basically the final boss the campaign was missing. I think legion is equal to northstar.
I hate monarch, but only because of energy thief and arc rounds. Oh, I was right, you are a monarch main AND you lack experience. I've played this game for too long...
I must defend the true best titan weapon: the predator cannon. It is everything legion does, so immediate GOAT gun.
I refuse to give monarch tips. But, pro tip, SHOOT EVERY MONARCH YOU SEE. They expect you to run away. Legion is a great counter due to high burst and sustained damage and being tanky. Killing monarchs needs to be a priority because it is just broken.
Okay, I'll talk about monarch. The only good kits are energy thief and the faster rearm one. Only really use the rearm on if you are doing a missile build, otherwise, 10% faster core is already insane for energy thief along with the opportunity to steal a BAR AND A HALF of health from any titan. Not to mention you can have FOUR dashes as monarch. Energy transfer is weak AF, missile racks are fun but are paper ball compared to extended ammo that deals more damage on average. All yellow upgrades are great and up to personal choice, but the reload speed is cancerous for gun builds. Multi target missiles is actually trash because you have to wait for several locks and the damage increase is nothing compared to the chaingun upgrade. Superior chassis is also a game-ruiner.
No one will ever read this comment, but it was fun anyways.

Or that it doesn’t block melee damage so a scorch can just melt you by shoving his flame shield into your face while you can do nothing since your gun can’t shoot through said shield? Northstar main here
I use the viper thrusters because they are a jack of all trade. If I want to keep my distance or run away that helps me a lot, and also if I want to rush an enemy titan, allowing me to have the same speed in vtol than on the ground, but I can ads and charge the gun, and the thrusters make the core fly faster than running so on top of doing lots of damage, you can't escape me or get too close if I'm the other way around.
And the thrusters help me as well to brain the facing titan, paired with electric smoke I make them lose track of me, turning behind a corner and then get back right on their head while they are trying to get closer. Also I use the bonus dash to add even more mobility and allowing me to improve further my ambush playstyle.
I use the double traps in FD, I look vertically as they spread on launch, making them spread even more as they travel more distance, and by turning myself perpendicular to the corridor/lane I'm in that makes 2 traps in one, helping to slow down these nuke titans on the way on top of the electric traps.

Figured i'd make a comment on the two titans I use the most this is not to be rude just a general clearing up of certain things.
So for Scorch wildfire launcher isn't typically used when there's 2 options that are just better the first being inferno shield, Inferno shield kit is used due to Scorch's thermal shield be able to do incredible amounts of damage at close range while also eating projectiles for a longer time combined with a gas trap you can do absolutely insane damage the other one which is more for survivability or if you don't want to worry about self damage is tempered plating, you get rid of your weakpoints so you can't get critted by anything and you don't have to worry about stepping in your fire at all. The other Titan is Legion, uh just gonna say straight up that light weight alloy is terrible when Hidden compartment exists as far as I know almost everyone who plays legion me included use Hidden compartment because of how good power shot is. Power shot isn't a rate of fire increase it's a short windup then a burst of bullets for incredible damage the close range version doing knockback and the long range version doing explosive shots, Hidden Compartment is so good because you can spam the ability up close to essentially get a Titan to very low hp the 15% damage decrease is simply not comparable to the upsides you get of having 2 charges of power shot. Like I said at the beginning this isn't meant to be rude or hurtful it's simply meant as a clearing up of things and what is considered to be good or used by those players me included.

The biggest problem with it is that if a Ronin sneaks up behind you, it will decimate you if you do not have turbo engine titan kit on, (which gives Ion, Tone, Northstar and Ronin an extra boost, while giving Scorch and Legion a considerably lower boost cooldown).

I main Tone, and the core is the best, most OP aspect she has. It follows where you are looking, you can shoot the core in the air, look at a titan, and it will track to them. It burst Ronin and Northstar from 100 to fully dead, and pretty much 100 to doomed everyone else. Best core in the game imo. Also, reinforced particle wall is by far the best. Unless you use a core, u ain't breking that wall, its stupid how good it is, even I think it deserves a nerf. Its so broken, i use any other one besides that to cut on the toxicity and out of respect for others. Kill it, its way too good.

I play a lot of tone, i use the 3 shot burst, i am fully aware it isnt the best, id argue it better than the second sonar pulse but what its great at doing is when you know a titan is either coming out from cover or rounding a corner, if you land all three the damage is devastating and you can imidatly follow up with a rocket barrage

as a silly little northstar main, i like to use threat optics because i can put up an electric smoke as cover while i snipe through it, while the enemies basically have to guess (and usually they guess wrong) as to where i may be. the tether trap nuke eject is also rather silly

Don't know if anyone has said but as an ex-titanfall 2 player, ronin also has a way to insta kill a titan using his phase dash and block, pop ur phase dash and attempt to stand where the other titan is standing and hold ur block, this insta kills the other titan

Tripwire is pretty good ability so that kit is one of the better ones for ion. Scorch’s best thing is his flame shield so that makes it even better. Ronin is really strong but only if you are good so he is nowhere near as op as suggested, genuinely ronin is F Tier if you aren’t a really good with him. Tone is ok but really easy to counter if you play it right, his primary damage is the rockets so you can dodge or block them fairly easy with most titans so again not as strong as suggested. The things said about legion are just wrong, legions best but us his power shot at close range so please please please just use hidden compartment because it is the best one, the gun shield is bad you can still hit him when he has it up and alright I’ll give it to him smart core is a decent ability 😂, just note that light weight alloys basically does nothing so don’t bother. Monarch, the energy siphon is useful sometimes but I wouldn’t say it’s op, don’t bother with any first core than arc rounds, maelstrom is better than said but defo go for rearm and reload, don’t use multi lock missiles, it’s a toss up between XO-16 accelerator or superior chassis, whatever your preference is.

You should of mentioned the aguis rank upgrades (hope I spelled it right) they are really op especially legion and monarch’s as monarch gets a 2nd tier one upgrade when spawned and legion get all of his kits

I can't figure if respawn just doesn't feel our interest or what. But I have been waiting for years for a Titanfall 3 as have we all. The Titanfall Universe is unique and interesting. MW and battlefield franchises just don't do it for me. Nothing about apex excites me either. It's the Titans people interested in these games want.

if you want to be good at ion, you don't want to use the ADS on the splitter rifle, and instead only spend energy on laser shot and vortex shield, and zero point tripwire gives you another move to just spam in case of a ronin/monarch

Northstar is S tier. Which stands for Sky tier. 😂 Northstar has a small healthpool for a reason. A Northstar with more health would be broken tho.
That range and poke from the plasma. The anti pilot hiding inside & the anti infantry usage of clusters. And the trap can make even close range titans like ronin and scorch think twice about rushing you.
The hover may not be that good as you're very vulnerable in the air but it gives you more options to poke using different rent angles at least.
Her ult isn't great against a single target especially considering how game changing the other titans ukts can be. but it gives you a lot of aoe so you can actually deal with bunch up targets.
She has a Very flexible kit.

Pretty much any titan is a menace in the right hands. It’s so well balanced there’s really no right or wrong answer of who is best as each one has their strengths and weaknesses and can each be effective when used by the right person. Me personally, I really don’t like northstar but I know people who can dominate with it. It really isn’t a case of which is better, but which one you prefer.
