I found the same thing when I went to Samoa, we stayed in a 1 ☆ fale on the beach, a 3 ☆ and a 5 ☆ resort with full meal package. To be honest, my favorite experience was the fale on the beach. It included breakfast and dinner, the other guests were freaken cool, we could snorkel with turtles right outside our room and the family that own it put on a fia fia night for us. I would absolutely stay again ❤
Harriet an I went to Fuji about 8 years ago for a wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time there. Our biggest issue was the plane fare. We live on the East Coast of the U.S. Very expensive. So for Americans, that's a cost that you can't ignore. You do look for deals when you can find them. We managed to find reasonable accommodations, travel and food prices at that time. Hope you guys are doing ok.. And Dane, it's time to get rid of that t-shirt. I had to get rid of mine. I'm surprised Stace didn't get rid of it . hehe All the best Guys ! Sending much love🙏❤️🙏 from Harriet, Jim and Yuki (on our way to a wedding in Rhode Island and on to Boston, Ma.)
Ahh yes, we totally understand the feeling of being verrrryyyyy far away from a lot of things when we're flying from NZ! Glad you guys got to experience it despite the cost. We're doing great thanks, hope you're all happy and well too 😄
Hello, from America and thank you for all the useful information and suggestions. 15 counties and counting with many car rentals. I fully agree you can’t really experience local cultures unless you explore on your own. Heading to Fiji first week of NOVEMBER to miss the election chaos here in the states. It was great watching you both agree about the beach house and the crab shack as they were already part of our itinerary prior to watching.
Oh great call escaping in November! Woohoo you've made great choices including Beach House and Crab Shack on your itinerary. No doubt you'll have a blast 😊
@ We absolutely loved it whereas lm a little well travelled as Fiji was country #16. Stayed on the coral coast and we had a rental car so we were moving around freely and frequently up & down Queens road. We ate @crab shack twice (delicious), wonderful time @ecotrax ( Brittney was absolutely fantastic), picked up many Fijian’s hitchhiking (awesome conversations and great way to meet the locals), even invited into a local village (amazing), toured Nadi’s local sites (temples and garden of the sleeping giant), drove to Suva (museum, market and local eateries), visited Sigotoka including the Sand Dunes National Park. Yes, we did relaxed along way with some kayaking and daily snorkel trip @high tide. So again our experiences are very different than your average tourist. However if you’re not convinced of our experiences? We already booked our next trip in November 2025 .
Thanks for doing the work to figure this out, you guys. I'm going to Tahiti in January and I'm going to follow your lead to attempt Tahiti on a budget. ;)
You did mention about the pizza not being good, I wont disagree with that as a Fijian myself. Although I would have recommended before going towards Suva is to try the the Mamas pizza that is obviously in Denarau it is the most famous pizza in Fiji. As for affordable resorts I would highly recommend shangri La to be the best in terms of affordability, food as well as the activities that they have included with it. I have always gone with my family from when I was little and have always craved that place ever since. Just because I currently live in New Zealand 😃But other than that the videos you guys made was great and would love to go those places as well myself ♥
You guys have to please try “Bula Bites” it’s located in the western suburbs… 614 Ballarat rd. Authentic Fijian food! Sooo good! Lamb curry and chicken chop suey is a must!! Hidden gem in melbourne!
Thank you! Totally agree. Honestly, not the best beach right out front in terms of swimming because you have to walk a fair way but it was clean and clear when we were there.
Can you please let us know the names of the hotels in Fiji? The bjdget beach hotel anr the all i clusive hotel names please? Thanks a lot for your help. Amazing video review on Fiji. Congrats!

Fiji Airways has Direct flights to Dallas for those living in the east coast.
That's awesome, direct? How cool
definitely helpful to know you don't actually have to spend an arm and a leg to Fiji!
Yesss! And it's actually quite fun to travel on a budget (never thought I'd say that 🤣) - Stace
Very good video. I rather spend money doing activities than in a hotel. Just curious, how’s the beach at Beach house? Clean and clear water ?
Thank you! Totally agree. Honestly, not the best beach right out front in terms of swimming because you have to walk a fair way but it was clean and clear when we were there.
Love your videos
Aww, thank you so much! Means the world.
