The Tribe of Levi = Haitians! This is a hidden fact!! 👍🏾
Ethiopia … luxurious coffees…superb long distance runners…resistance to European colonisation…inspiration to Bob Marley…
Africa’s powerhouse airlines…
I can't agree more👍🏿
The most respectful people, Habesha got so much respect for everyone,I wish them well with progression of their country's growths.
You are getting one of the best education a person can get through traveling!
100%💪🏿
Great presentation! Ethiopians are very warm people and appreciate your trying to speak their language. Their history is so rich. Wonderful Ethiopia!
So far I have traveled to 18 different countries prior to hitting 35 and out of ALL Ethiopia 🇪🇹 was my second in total, second on the continent of Africa and I love ❤️ it more than any country I have experienced. I am happy you are able to enjoy. It is special.
I have to agree. Ethiopia is one of my favorites so far.
I went to see my family for the first time in Botswana. Made my eyes water seeing all black people. I didn't realize how odd I feel in America🤣🤣 complete comfort back home. I'm moving when my kids are old enoigv
@@slyslife who hates the food?
@@RUTHLESSambition5 Yes, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 was so special to me. I am sure your children will love.
Wow really?! 👀…that makes me excited cause I’ll be going there in a couple of months. It will be my very first time in Africa 🙌🏾
Bro, I'm from Addis , born and raised. Currently in Maine, US. Haven't been back for about 4 years. Loved the tour. Keep it up!
How’s the weather there❄️😢
@SLYsLife- another favorite of mine. Of course, as I'm Jamaican I had to visit as this country's ties to ours are very cultural. Ethiopia- beautiful people- beautiful country, DEEP culture. While there I visited - Merkel Square, the Museum of Arts n Science, Friendship park, and Addis Mercato market. Remember eating is a culture there and it's best to eat with others but I understand your predicament. I'm enjoying this vlog.
Yeah, I didn't know about the connection between Ethiopia and Jamaica - that was pretty interesting... and yeah, it takes time to meet people in any country. Continue to enjoy the vids👍🏿.
Yahd man here as well.. This is one of the many reasons I have Eithiopia as number 1 for my African travel countries. Isn't there a statue of Haile Selassie somewhere in the capital?
@@proverbs3133 Hail Up brother- RESPECTS one Yawd man to another. I remember visiting a BUST in Cannizaro Park and I think a statue was unveiled in Ethiopia by the AU in 2019. I haven't seen that but when next I visit I will. Love N Light King
@@ptseti Big upp yuhself bredda.. Mannaz, love and Respect King.. All Praises to The Most High God!! I look forward to this trip and I hope the people gravitate towards me well. Thank you for all the info you shared..
Eithiopia has one of the a richest histories in Africa and some of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to go back!
I can't argue with anything you just said - 100%
Ethiopia has one of the richest histories in Western Civilization.
In the Old Testament and Torah, no other country is mentioned more than Ethiopia outside of Egypt.
@@TrillEverything Ethiopia is the richest & oldest civilization in history. It's the cradle of civilization. The original Egyptians, Jews & Christians are the Ethiopians! And yeahup to what Hatian Vagrbond said, the most beautiful women in the world are in Ethiopia. I'm about to marry one, she's unreal beautiful. I'm Puerto Rican & as beautiful as Caribbean women are, Ethiopian women are right up there with them. Drop dead gorgeous.
@@biggalaxy9102 Some of y'all do too much when it comes to Ethiopia. 😂
@@TrillEverything ethiopian isn't a western nation lol.
When I was in Addis Ababa I was tearing that food up. Ethiopia is in my top 2 Counties for food. For Coffee #1 and I'm not even a Coffee drinker. Nice video Brother!
I am from somalia, used to live in Addis, Ethiopians are very polite and I love Ethiopian Ajera(may not spell correct)
Thank you our wonderful Somali family from your proud Ethiopian brother in Minnesota!!

Great video, I am from Eritrea but live in Seattle. The Afar region is actually north eastern part of Ethiopia not in the South. This region borders Eritrea to the north. In fact their is a region in Eritrea where ethnic Afar people live too. Looks like a fun trip! Safe travels brother!
You are truly adventurous,I’m from Ethiopia and living in Sydney,Australia I came here to study….wish you all the best in Ethiopia also whenever you go…

Love Ethiopian food. That restaurant is so beautiful.
You and me both👍🏿
Ethiopian food is the best in the World. I am not saying this because i am Ethiopian. But it is reality. If you know how to cook Ethiopian food properly. You do not even get tired of eating it every day.
True, it has only been 5 months since i have got to UK, but i really mis injera that i go to london or Birmingham so that i can go to Ethiopian restaurant.
You are actually walking through the old Town of Addis. Addis Ababa Restaurant is one of the old joint serving traditional Ethiopian food. Piazza was the spot to be back in the days.
Good of you to give shout out to major languages - Amharic, Oromo, Tigrigna, and Afar. Love your natural curiousity and adventurous nature. Great stuff man. Keep going!
This makes me nostalgic. Had the most precious time there a few years back.
Sly, this is your brother Karl from the Rainer Beach area. I see you finally made it to Ethiopia, thats great! I love it, I'm sure you will as well.
Yo Karl! Yup, I finally made it and I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

"Princes shall come forth out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch forth her hands unto God" -Psalms 68:31 KJV
Ethiopia, the home of the Solomonic dynasty, the cradle of early Christianity, one of the few countries in Africa that was never colonized by a foreign nation. 🇪🇹
I'm headed to Lalibela now. Watching your video in Addis airport it's 12/20/2022.
Thank you for visiting my homeland Ethiopia is rich in culture and history Our people are very Beautiful and kind .
On top of Wednesday and Friday which is a fasting day for ten months throughout the year, currently it is a solid fasting season from November 24 through January 07 2023 we are fasting; no meat, no animal and no any animal products consumed. On Jan 07/2023 we do have our own Christmas holiday. I hope you will enjoy the holiday with Ethiopian delicious authentic cousins right there on its original spot.

25:36 the 't' sign is not missing, they purposefully removed it so that you can take a picture while making a 't' alphabet with your arms spread out.
This video is so good, I feel like I can say I actually visited Addis Ababa. Thank you.
I made my pride with the capital of Africa Ethiopia when the westerners are trying to limit the sub-saharan Africa to only oral tradition transmission. I said to them to not spread their colonial ideology here, because Ethiopia has writing, and has never been colonized. And for just this evidence I never receive any silly reply about this ideologically mind set. Yes Ethiopia, my proud. Keep up the good work bro.
Nice video! I miss Addis when I watching this vlogs! Keep going brother!
Golden content Sly, I love your videos. You can also say Salam as a greeting in Amharic.
Thank you brother for visiting Ethiopia. I hope you will tell good things about Ethiopia to brothers when you get to the U.S.
Lovely place, I love Ethiopian traditional dress and the music..
I fiker Ethiopia, the country and its people are beautiful
Thank you. I really really enjoyed your street walk commentary. Thank you. I missed Addis
I remember this area coming as a kid. I hardly see this area in other videos. Thank you for showing
Much respect to the entire Ethiopian people really loved the dressing keep it up ♥️🖤💚
It looks absolutely mouth watering. And it's worth the walk.
Thank you for visiting our country. Thank you for the show also.
Good for you brother! I admire your interest and taking your time to check out my home land that I miss so much. I hope some day it will be peaceful enough to visit because I am not limiting myself to only the capital city as I have so many family and churches I need to see. I will write down how you say thank you in Amharic. Ame-seg-nalhu ( Amesegnalhu) and to say hello you say ‘Selam’ enjoy yourself be safe! Enjoy the delicious food and coffee!
You doing very well 👏 dear ,learning the language. Bless you and well done.
I can smell the fresh air omg. I will be there. Counting my days to visit my grandmother.
Great video Sly! I was hoping you would make it there. I visited Ethiopia 2 times back in the 90's. Lalibela is a must see!

Wow bro thanks for the invite...
Walking along piaza @ the beginning of the video lots of good coffee ☕️ and jewellery
I m heading there in two weeks. I am from there but moved to US about 20 years ago. I have been back twice since and each time I visit there i would taken aback by the explosion of the city population. But Piassa looks the same as it was 20 years ago. Nice video.
Think they keep it looking the same to keep the historical-ness of the Neighborhood!
Great video! Very good tour of the city!
Thank you for a Great educational video Brother.
Love this video and the way you explain everything 🔥👏🏽
You in my home country no way!!! Make sure to try some Ethiopian food bro.
Most of the shop you pass by around piassa were gold shops
You also passed by #Greek Orthodox Church & #Armenian Orthodox church
It is the Ethiopian Tewahado church. Belong to the same branch but different.
Omg ur quite very educated. There’s lots of Oromos in Addis Ababa, I think u most likely seen/talked with one
Very enjoyable. Really nice tour.
I'm glad you enjoyed it
This must be on Sunday, I don’t remember Piazza that quiet and slow. Thank you for visiting my home town my city, my streets … my ppl, how I miss it ❤
Looks like all the Toyota echo inventory is there
You are a cutie pie thank you so much for your politeness
The washing of the hands explanation killed me💀💀😂😂😂😂😂😂but it's the truth, tho!
On the side the Toyota Hiace van at 15.48 is says Konetyö KO-MI Oy. So its former Finnish vehicle.
Nice video. I like Ethiopia because it's the only African nation that was never colonized and the only African nation that can boast centuries of Christian, Jewish, and Islam traditions. The country is rich in history and has been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Twelve in total,#1 in Africa). Another fact about Ethiopia is it has its own written alphabet and numbers. Everybody else in Africa uses Arabic or the Latin/English alphabet to communicate in written format.
Hey bro♥️👋👋👋
I am from🇪🇹💙
From the US but live in Addis. I know exactly where you were. FYI: They teach English from 2nd grade and a greeting is Salamno for men and Salamna for women. BTW: Keep up the good work, my Brotha and safe travels!!!

I think the missing "T" in Ethiopia was meant for you to stand in that space and make a "T" formation. Thank you for the boots on the ground experience.
ah ok..makes sense😅
Exactly 💯
Great video!
Nice my bro
It is called Lalibela brother
11:15 "Ok ..asmegunal law" !!
He got me on that one . I'm playing it over, and over again.
*asemnagalu.
REALLY appreciate you explaining the handwriting thing, cuz i surely was like 🤔
The diet must be low-fat...I don't see obese people. Nice tour. I want to visit the churches of Lalibela

This is next up on my list.
Just subscribed and you made me laugh the way you pronounce Thanks in amharinya 😂😂😂.
I am somali and i have problem pronouncing that word.
I visited Addis Ababa two times and loved the city and the people.
BUN is my drug
New subbie! Love the video
21:05 that monument is for people who got massacred by Italians during 1935 - 1940 invasion...it is called Yekatit 12...It is the month and the day the massacre took place..
It’s cool man! That place is my favorite place to eat when I go to Ethiopia. I was laughing when you translated the meaning of thank you,
Reversed the word: instead of ameseginalhu, you said asemginalhu.
Well done bro.
Hey bruh ! Nice walking Trip you are wonderful walking through all those streets are a little bit difficult, especially if you are from the US. Born and raised in that city I know everything but I'm appreciating you even your amharic word " Thanks"
I see you Champ.......... African to the World........
For is the how you said the greeting, ''Dananinani'' kkkkkk. Dahnaow for men and Dahnanish for women.
Ethiopia Addis abeba has a good climate all year round.
The "T" is not done because the want us to take photo stretching our hands out and make T. Great video from Ethiopia 🇪🇹
Ah ok..thanks for the tip
Enjoying your content! Funny, another person I follow on RUclips, she just got to Dakar, and she’s had a bit of trouble with her Airbnb, and how some aren’t at the address, as given. He was also surprised by how dusty it was along the roadside. Well, I saw how dusty it was on your video. So, I’ll be prepared. 😁
Thanks and yeah, the sand everywhere surprised me also, but it wasn't like that in the more "upper class" areas. So, I'm sure they could do something about it.
If you stay in a cheap area expect that !!!
I hope you’ll have the chance to visit my country of Somaliland across the border. Most of the RUclipsrs that visited like it and as another brother from Seattle. I recommended if you have time to do it, please visit the coast of Berbera. 🎉
great
