  • BINANOG DANCE (way of the hawks)
The Panay Bukidnons of Calinog, Iloilo and nearby provinces practice Binanog, (Kinaraya, meaning “way of the hawks/like the hawks”), considered as the Panay Bukidnon’s courtship dance.
On special occasions, they, especially the women wear colorful ingenuous costumes/personal adornments. Children also come to these schools to learn Binanog, a courtship dance that mimics the flight of a mighty bird and that involves the use of scarves or a piece of cloth to catch or elude a partner.
