If the 19 Astros won the title they’d probably get that praise as well. It’s hard to imagine 2022 was without springer, cole and Correa who are all superstars. Not to mention peak Roberto Osuna (not that he should be celebrated)

76 Reds?.. IDK, I always thought this Astros run was eerily similar to the Big Red Machine of the early to mid 70’s.. With a few differences, such as the Reds winning titles at the end of their run instead of the beginning and end.. Not that this is the end of the Astros run..

One could argue that the 2022 Astros were even better than the 2017 Astros, & this doesn't put in regards any of the controversy that followed their 2017 WS win. The simple fact is that the 2022 Astros were flatout dominant( yes, they had their share of stumbles, but overcame them all obviously ). From top to bottom, both in hitting & pitching, the Astros were consistently good throughout. And even when certain players went through slumps, they came out of those slumps in a big way. They ran away with the AL West & swept past both the Mariners & Yankees in the postseason, and then won the last 3 games to beat the Phillies & win the World Series again. Overall, the Astros proved without a doubt that they are the best team in the majors.

From a 2017 perspective, that run should be remembered for what the team brought to the city following Hurricane Harvey. They gave the fans much reason to cheer as they were recovering from the disaster. It was a magical run all throughout and it was a great joy. Obviously, that part is buried and will be a long time before it gets uncovered. We now know what happened and that run has a yeah-but (I don’t like saying asterisk because I think it’s stupid and a sore loser term and I feel that every championship team should get one or there shouldn’t be at all because it’s disrespectful to the purpose of that). However, they needed to redeem themselves by winning. Forget the haters and all that, just go out and win the whole thing which they did. They won and all those people who refuse to admit the fact lost.
As far as them being a dynasty, they’re kind of on the border. They are, but at least Another championship or two (which is possible) would put them more in the same conversations with the Yankees and Cardinals.
Regardless of how you feel, you have to admit their ability to overcome adversity and be resilient while being a great team. I think it’s a lesson all sports franchises and everyone else should follow. How do you overcome the obstacles that you created to get to where you want to be?
No hurricane, hell, or hate can ever bring down the H. Hoping for another ring and continued success.

"Redemption Season?!" 😂😂😂 Redemption would imply that the Astros and their fans are concerned about what other teams and their fan bases think about them. I can assure you, WE DO NOT. The Astros cheated just like other teams did that season, including the Yankees, including the Red Sox, including any team whose pitchers used foreign substances, including teams whose players used steroids and won the WS in using those players, i.e. the Yankees and I could go on and on. That's the very reason MLB wouldn't even CONSIDER stripping the Astros. Cuz they wouldn't be able to stop with just them. And that's how MLB wants it and nobody has to like it. Let me be clear one more time: WE DON'T G.A.F. ABOUT REDEMPTION cuz there's nothing to redeem. The Astros played by the same unwritten rules of baseball that you hear about sometimes, only they were the only team that got caught. 😎🏆🏆

  • @jimmypop4539

You did just fine.. however, just as many of those who bring up 2017, you fail to mention the almost 14 other teams who have been either told to stop or outright punished for cheating by the league for sign stealing during or since then. And if you add those who were in the 3 years previously the number to 20 plus.
But just as mlb did, let's keep the focus on the one name. Kinda like they did during the steroid scandal. Let's only speak on the best of the best names, even though most of the league was doing it..
