Thank you! I think it's a good thing but I feel like I had a tougher time with starting strategies in this new edition. I like how balanced it feels as a result though. Still I'm looking forward to your tips as always
Daggers are usually a safe bet, i try to keep track of the access I’m buying and trash based on what I have a lot of access in. ( if I buy a lot of blue access I’ll trash reconnaissance for example)
Well, I won my first game after watching this! I prioritized strong card buys (managed to get the captured mentat and spacing guild discard for 2 spice card combo), rationing troops, and preparing for tier 3 heighliner. Thanks guys!
Any opinions on strength of turn order? Could too small of a sample but in our group 2nd position has won 5 of 8 games. We’ve been drafting from 6 leaders and picking in the following order: 4th, 1st, 3rd, 2nd. Thanks guys, love the insight!
that's a solid theory! one that I hold to a certain degree. But to further expand that....as you play more you're find yourself sometimes at the mercy of the access cards you were able to acquire throughout the game. if you are unlucky enough to miss your diplo on turn 7 who's the first to benefit? Now lets say 3rd player was ready to fight and 4th player also fought, what kind of secondary rewards do you get? 5 and 3 spice respectively. Which means what? you're ready to fight immediately after having lost@@andruwjonez
(thought I commented previously...). Thanks for this very interesting and entertaining video. Have played just one game of Uprising so far and this should help me out tremendously. One question - has your opinion of purchasing Uprising - if someone already has Imperium/Ix - changed?
If you have played a lot of imperium/ix and want to switch things up I’d highly recommend uprising. It changes things in a great way and it feels different enough to warrant buying a different game (I own all of them)
Hi guys, first of all, thanks for the illuminating video!🍀 And second: I played dune imperium UPRISING for the first time this week and unfortunately due to time we couldn‘t even finish the game - so i‘m super keen on playing some more and am looking for the possibility to play digitally >> but after lots of searching I have only managed to find the basic dune imperium (NOT UPRISING) to be played with the Direwolf app 🤷♀ > but you guys seem to have access to an uprising version right here in this video ⁉ >> so could could you or somebody else here please please let me know where I can find this game online?? I‘d be sooooo grateful to finally scratch my itch… 🙏 thanks!! 🤓
Man we played uprising and I got whooped. I was trying to deck build whilst other players were focused on worms and fighting and racked up huge points. I ended both games with under 5 points 😂
thanks. I've only had a chance to play twice so far, in person and only with 3 people unfortunately. i'd reached a few of the same conclusions but there was a lot here to absorb. great stuff from 2 of my favorites
Hey Buddy! Uprising is not available here in Brazil yet. Actually we don’t even have immortality yet. It was announced by Galapagos as next year release, and I don’t think we gonna get uprising anytime soon. It’s worth getting Imperium plus Ix or better just wait for uprising release? I can’t pick between this and clank! Or maybe scythe.
@@DenDen-jk8kt Ohh no. not at all. There are imperium row cards that allow you to access any site you have a spy on. So you could drop a spy on a faction site and then use those cards for faction access. It is not as good as full faction access, but it feels like it is some % of faction access. Similar to how scrying in MTG is not quite draw a card, but it is general accepted to be worth about 1/2 a draw. So my thinking is that the place at a location you have a spy is counts towards some amount of having faction access cards in your deck.
I just hate that they invented Amber for the game. I dont really care for all the card, but as a leader........ There are hundreds and hundreds of characters in the Dune universe written by Frank, or even Brian herbert. There was NO reason to create a new character for the game.
I'll never play her, and I'm tempted to remove her from the game entirely. I've read Dune over a dozen times and all 25+ other books at least twice, and this addition is just stupid and uncalled for.
@@pofruinEven in Herberts original 6 books there are TONS of characters that could have been used. As for Brian and Kevin's books. They are no more "Fanfic" than Sanderson's 3 Wheel of Time books. All those books were made with the approval of the Herbert estate. I'd be fine with pulling characters from those. But they dont even need to. Again, herbert's original books have plenty of characters and houses and plenty of info on them too.
So many houses in the lore. Hell, at this point I'd consider the RTS Ordos canon. Instead we got "Amber". A shitty character and a shitty leader card. Total waste of time and opportunity.
Lanny needs to differentiate using the word turn and round throughout this pod.
I thought I would hear more about placing spies and getting spy placement cards. Spies let you reserve access to key spots in the late game.
Do you know if you have to pay the cost of the spot when you have a spy on it? Water for example
@@louisvillechuggger A bit late, but yes, you do pay

We played like 10 times and nobody ever went to research station on the first round, but it seems so obvious now😅
Thanks, great content!
Any tips on what cards to try to trash first from the starting deck?

Hey, so Tabletop Simulator has a few versions of Dune at the workshop. Which one should I pick?

The 100 plus games thus far position four has been the strongest currently I'm in 45% win rate in that position with over 100 reps

as another middle income country inhabitant, we're better off waiting for Uprising instead of starting with Imp + exp(s)

We've played a bunch, and would you guys say that Spy access == some % of faction access? Its felt like it a bit, just slightly slower.

How to get uprising ?
It's strange that you base half of your discussion on having 2,3,4 specific cards.
Orski, you have forgiven Lannister? For not playing with you, when promised, with in Dire Wolf event? :D
Keep your friends closer and your enemies even closer

any tips for what to work towards early game with a dead imperium row and no one wants to buy stuff besides prepare the way??
Whether or not we play with Immortality, we always include family atomics

@@MrReedMiester because they could have, SHOULD HAVE, used an actual character from the actual books.
