Bad call on penalty. Two players going for the ball, one trying to shoot, other trying to block. There will always be incidental contact. This is not pansy sport like basketball...
Kane falls down in agony, and apparent pain...rolling and screaming. Once ref awarded him the penalty kick, he springs up to his feet like nothing happened...all the pain gone...and calmly scores a goal. So many Oscar worthy performances on this tournament. Very dignified in defeat. This guy oozes leadership
@JezzadachezzaThat's a strange thing to say about a player who's won every major competition in the English club game. Every competition and 3 out of the last 6 CL finals. Most people have a dignified respect for Virgil, seems you don't. And it quite obviously wasn't a penalty, however much we where all happy it was given
@Jezzadachezza salty much. Was my comment correct? Has virgil won everything in the club game. Once or 10 times, he's still won everything. And Liverpool have won the league and CL much more than just once. And you are correct, given how many CL finals and close calls in prem etc you could quite rightly say Liverpool slightly under achieved, fair enough. But he's still won everything, which was my main point. And lets be honest, unless your a city, Liverpool or united fan, coming so close to winning the league and getting to 3 out of 6 CL finals is a big thing is it not? Plus I think youl find city broke every Ffp rule in the book, where losing favourites for CL 7 years on the bounce, whilst Liverpool got to 3 finals on a quarter of the money, so you could say city sponsoring themselves and spending what they like, but being losing favourites 7 years on the bounce is massively under achieving, much more than Liverpool I'd say if you compare money spent and profits made etc. And Liverpool dont have to make fake achievements. they've won everything many many times. Have a nice life
@Jezzadachezzanot a Liverpool fan but saying ONE champions league as if that’s a bad thing when it’s more than most players will ever win is so disrespectful. Especially using that against a world class and respectful player

I feel the media helped with this win especially all the spotlight on the ref coming into the game of people saying we doomed with his match fixing scandal and issue with Jude.... He felt almost obliged to endear himself to the England fans, you cant tell me most of the big calls went in our favor, but we can all agree to disagree that we have been very lucky, but does the luck run out against a top team like Spain? 👀
If the refs want to help a specific team to win, that team will win. It happened in Qatar 2022 too.
I am a lover of the beautiful game. The referee didn’t call the penalty on Kane and Dumfries. Then freaking VAR gets involved seriously??? There is cause and effect to the action. Kane hits the ball higher and the ball left his foot already. So the trajectory of the ball is decided already. A defender has to defend that ball. What is he supposed to do - put his face there ? I believe journalists have a right to ask these type questions but players should be allowed answer honestly without repercussions. This was a valid question at the end because this referee was involved in a scandal where he intentionally made wrong decisions as a linesman after accepting €300 from the referee of a match. That was no penalty to England and that FK decision to England towards the end while it was 1-1 and the Dutch were on the attack was a dreadful call because that is how England were in posession leading to the goal. John stones also headed the ball out for a corner and a goal kick was awarded late in the game. The decisions constantly went against the Netherlands in this game and it should be questioned.
