- The main benefits of this handtrap is to get rid of all of your opponents important monsters during their turn. And since a lot of combo decks do not get their good boss monsters out until the very end of their combo, you can usually drop a nibiru on your opponent mid combo to completely ruin their turn.

Its not just summon 5 or more times. Its summon 5 or more monsters. A pendulum summon is a single summon that can summon more monsters at once

And Salamangreat. There's a combo flowchart for them that has half a dozen one or two card combos and just has all of them point to a Nibiru token.

Then there's Dragon Link players with Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres: "COME ON, DO IT! TRIBUTE MY CARDS, GO AHEAD!"
And then you have Tearlaments that go "lmao k" then proceed to fusion summon 80 more times.
Except that the Tear names are all HOPT so that can't happen. There's a reason that until Rulkallos came out, Nibiru was a key side deck tool against Tear

The problem was even before, Nibiru did nothing against Tear. "Oh, you wiped my board? Okay, I'll just Mudora my fusions and Miller's back and then Havnis on your turn."
Nowadays especially in the OCG, they can either end at 4 or setup a negate with the adventure engine to deal with Nibiru.

Whenever I get the chance, I always activate Niburu during my turn. It ruins my board, my opponent’s board, both of our days, but it’s funny
One time I activated Tri-Brigade Revolt against a guy so they nibbed the board on their turn since I Shuraig'd their only guy and they wanted the material

It's the worst feeling when you drop the asteroid on someone, but then don't draw anything to get rid of the 6000 attack token you gave them. Though people summoning another nine times *after* you Nibiru them is some bullshit.

Rekindling, Soul Charge, and a Pendulum Summon will trigger Nibiru with a single summon

@@flockaflowerthere are ways to summon multiple monsters at once-like soul charge, rekindling, and pendulum summoning, which they mentioned. For example, if you do all 3 of those it, it would only count for 3 summons even though you might get out like 10 monsters. Nibiru can activate once the 5th monster is summoned regardless of how many ways you’ve summoned them. If you summon 5 monsters off of soul charge, you only summoned once BUT Nibiru can activate

Nibiru is the gift that always coming, the peak of it is that Konami made its Master Duel Animation soo satisfying (the meteor was shown being vibrating), plus its a great tool to counter kashtira
In my day, we were lucky to summon twice in a turn.
I've only faced a nibiru once I then proceeded to win the duel with the token
I think nibiru is probably the least hateable handtrap. Since its condition is just strict enough that if you didn't play around it it feels kinda like it was your fault a little bit and it becomes slightly hard to hate your opponent
100% true, droll and shifter are both really frustrating and annoying because they have such low requirements in order to be used against your opponent, and they take so little brainpower to use effectively. Sometimes you can hold a Nib past the point where your opponent has summoned 5 times in order to hit them at a more annoying point in their combo to make them waste resources.

Honestly, it's definitely doing a good job. Combo decks aren't great in the TCG right now, with midrange control decks like Kashtira and Purrely mostly running the format, and Nibiru is a big reason why.
Nibiru is one of the worst wdym. It completely slaughters many decks that can't really play around it, truly an auto win

My literal counter to Nibiru is playing an ancient deck archetype that has my opponent like "What loser plays this deck?!" Then maybe win.
I remember winning more often with the juices up beatsick token rather than losing due to nibiru getting rid of all my extra deck summons
When Absolute Zero leaves the field, Nibiru and token are both destroyed.
This is why i hold a dark fusion in the back of my combo to summon dark gaia.
I love this big shiny crystal.
It's actually a good boy that reinforces the line instead of instantly killing itself just to get rid of a search or whatever.
I used to play a fossil fussion deck so that when i got nibirud i could say "thanks for the rock token and the gy set up my friend" and still beat them

It's a good thing that card is always a brick in my opponents hand with my Blue-eyes deck. I summon 3-4 monsters tops.
also if they dont have a way to get rid of the token, you can just kill them with that on the followup depending on how chunky the field was when nib was activated

Back then I played a special summon heavy rokket deck and this thing was my worst nightmare.
I got hit with a Nibiru once, then I Refusioned my Master Diamond back and continued my combo. My opponent forfeited.

As a traptrix player this is my favorite handtrap. It's a free 2k damage if you go rafflesia before pinguicula.

The tributes everything is something a tear opponent i faced learned the hard way as the nibd the second i brought out my boss monster but i just kept going while they just essentially nuked themselves (and i could easily just bring my boss monster back)

Should have mentioned that also some decks lock out Nibiru, such as Spright due to Gigantic Sprights effect, not to mention decks that use floodgates to stop special summons.

That, and it's removing a ton of card advantage from your opponent if you're removing multiple monsters
Yes, if you nibiru mid combo then they would lose tons of advantage and would either have to rebuild or just pass. Nibiru is also good since if you do it at the right time your opponent may have extended too much for hime to ever recover the game.

Nibiru imo has just made the game much faster. Now combo decks are judged by if they can counter nibiru.
yesterday i was so so lucky. i played cyber dragons my board was very well built but on 3/5 special summons i decided to climb to cyber drag infinity from 0 so i xyz summoned nova and xyz summoned infinity overlaying it on nova as my 5th special summon. the guy's only card in hand was Nibiru which i promtly negated by this freshly summoned c.drag infinity and after that he surrendered
Nibiru. I don't have a joke, I just like saying "Nibiru".

I once used nibiru on my opponent and was running some kaijus so I had owners seal for them, and I learned that it works with the nibiru token, so I had nibiru and a 7200 atk token, they ended up quiting, I'm not up to date with yugioh so I never knew it would've worked, just in case this was simple knowledge😅

I remember a friend who built a Lair of Darkness deck with 3 structure decks. It was kind of impressive.
Rikka is just better at it than any Lair deck..
Requiring field spell to be on the field and then another card that tribute stuffs is the bottleneck of lair, you could have just play Rikka that do everything on one card.

Are you thinking of Ra sphere mode? That's the one that works like lava golem except you can tribute 3 monsters, and then it switches control at the end of the turn for the player who controls it, and then can be tributes to summon a regular Ra from the deck

quick look at the rulings, the answer is yes but the tokens forgot the atk/def because is isnt in the main monster zone

You do have to out the token.
Your explanation is wrong, it is not when your opponent special summoned for the fifth time, it is when your opponent special summon his or her fifth monster, so when your opponent special summons 3 monsters at the same time, it counts as 3 for the effect of nibiru.

Yes but you should always be able to go into your own plays which in any competent deck will be able to deal with a defenseless token. Its size is also no bigger than the monsters you got rid of.
