I'd wager a nickle that's it's literally just a cheap Taiwanese android tablet with USB controls under all that plastic.
It's not even running a freaking rom of the original pong, or even an attempt to recreate it. It looks like some shovelware you'd find in the google play store.

  • @dekky3908

Swung by MicroCenter in Detroit to build a computer for a friend, they had RTX 3070s in stock and was able to pick up a Raspberry Pi 4 8gb for 65 dollars and a 512gb microSD for only 50. Their prices are great and it's an amazing brick and mortar computer parts store.

This just look like a rebranding of some chinese crappy console. And the fact that the 18650 compartment isn't fully populated with terminals just shows that the shell probably isn't even for the device, is just a generic shell because is cheaper.

So there's room for two more 18650's, but they didn't even parallel them up to triple battery life and charge all of them at once? Wait, it takes 12 seconds to boot for Pong? Oh, it's running ANDROID? FOR PONG? This is an Arduino project at best, but at least that would cost $30. And you can get all the parts at Micro Center.

The spinners on this thing feel great but operate horribly. I had a chance to demo this and it’s glitchy as hell. Turn the dial to move, then stop, and the paddle keeps moving, sometimes to the far end of the court. It’s also jumpy on screen. I played one game and it was nearly unplayable for me.

In the real world, how many games can be played on that thing?
You say breakout, but that would really only be a 1 player game here on this.
You would really need to have nostalgia for pong to want to buy this. I doubt most people that were living when pong came out, have that much love for that game. It was ok, if that was all you had at that moment in time.
Other then being a collecting item sort of thing, you have to assume most will not care to want to buy such a thing.

Prior to home video games with interchangeable cartridges (like the Atari VCS) becoming popular there were some home video game systems based around chips such as the AY-3-8500 that played a number of pong type games. It seems like in 1972 the original magnavox odyssey had a pong type game and interchangeable cartridges though.
