2014 528i Motor Mount Replacement

  • Doing motor mount replacement on a 2014 F10 528i with the N20 engine. The driver side is the easier motor mount to replace. I am doing both sides and you can get the driver side from up top and the passenger side has to come out of the bottom. I removed the mounts from the engine as well. The torque for the bolts are: Mounts to Frame = 38 nM, Brackets to engine = 52 nM, and brackets to mounts = 60 nM.
    In the parts below, if you click the link it will say left motor mount but the motor mounts are the same on both sides and you will need to order two of these mounts if you use the link below.

    Thanks for making the video.your video was very detailed.after watching your video a couple times.I was ready to tackle the job..
    my 2012 528i n20 took me about 4hrs today to do both mounts.

      May i ask the symptoms of your mount issues? Its hard for me to diagnose....id shakes when its idle but goes away when accelerated...

      @UnKnownn2520 this one started out like that. It would only shake/vibrate at idle then when the mount started to get worse the owner said that it would vibrate constantly then when you would accelerate from a light or stop the engine would make a popping noise allowing the mount to move to the point of the mount collapsing on itself

      @operationoverhaul the fact u even replied is something these youtubers seem to busy to do. Thank u so much..subscribed..one more ?...so i dont get screwed... how much should i expect to pay to get this fixed? To scared to touch it myself

      @UnKnownn2520 it calls for 3.5 hours of labor. Just in labor you are looking at around 400 minimum just for the labor at an independent shop. The part depends on where you get it. I know bmw charges about 300 an hour here

    If the 528i N20 engine is so busy looking in there, I can only imagine the N63 V8 in there.

      Car manufacturers do not think about working on them anymore. They see an empty spot and say, "hey, let's add this there. It does not matter that it blocks this bolt and hose." After all the hoses, wiring, and covers the n20 is not the big of an engine either.

    Are the left and right sides the same length? In my BMW F01 N54, the right side is shorter and the left side is longer.

      I cannot remember if they are the same length or not to be honest. I thought that they were but I am not 100 percent sure.
