Thanks for the kind words about our pants! So glad to hear you like them so much! We just sold out of that fabric and now everyone wants them haha. Cheers! -Amos
I recently switched to Darn Tough Socks, specifically the 2017 quarter work socks. Although they're $20 a pair, they're amazing and I'll never wear anything else again.
@@Grumpyoldman666 I have a drawer full of Smartwool socks. I have various cold and hot weather pairs. I also have base layer pants, boxers, a couple tees, a long sleeve shirt and a few pairs of gloves. With that said, I'm thinking about switching over to Darn Tough. I bought all of the Smartwool during different sales over the course of a few years. Once I maxed out my drawer I stopped buying them. Now they are starting to wear out and that DT lifetime warranty is sounding very appealing. I've spent several hundreds of dollars that I could have invested into lifelong items instead of only a few years. I have a feeling Darn Tough is eventually going to change the warranty like LL Bean, and if you aren't grandfathered in you'll miss out. Maybe not, but I don't want to wait and miss out. With that also said, I really do love Smartwool. They make great clothing and the company seems really cool.
Find a Kershaw Appa. Yes, you might have to sharpen it, but i use this daily to break down dozens of boxes for work. The clip is awesome and the blade action is AMAZING. Trust me if you want a tiny EDC knife.
I am not going to lie. When I bought The Morning Dram coffee, I bought it to support you and good people who support you. When I got my coffee with a hand written card and tasted the coffee, I no longer need to justify my purchase. Coffee really does sell itself. Thank you for introducing me to The Morning Dram. :)
I love my Birkenstock Boston clogs! They’re practical and comfortable beyond belief. I got my first pair in ‘94 after having had the sandals since ‘90. I still have a few pairs in my regular wearing rotation.
absolutely loved this style of video and i believe i am not alone in it. taste is a superpower and curation is ever more becoming a currency. would love to see more, specially because this was masculine but not ridiculously cliché (i gave up on edc channels and their lists). keep it up and happy new year!
Hi Weston. I follow your media for the boots. But I watched this video and ended up buying a pair of Birkenstock Boston Clog’s in Habana Oiled Leather because I was looking for a slip on to wear around the house. I’ve been wearing Topsiders to fill that role for 50 years, but wanted more support. Can’t believe I never bought a pair before. Very pleased. Thank you!
The London by birkenstock is not new. I wore them as nursing shoes decades ago. The benefit to the leather heel piece is that it covers the cork and prevents the cork bed from degradation. London shoes are awesome.
I second Ashland Leather as an amazing company. I bought my wallet from them years ago, and even after multiple seasons of concrete masonry, it still looks amazing. Customer service is incredible as well.
Two options for your knife issue is get a big idea’s TPT slide or get a Milwaukee 6-1 knife. The slide is lighter then the Gerber but the Milwaukee is more useful. Also you can get the Birkenstock Boston winter version that is lined makes better house shoes IMO.
+1 for TPT Slide. Super light (titanium) and $80. Great gift. But my fave is the Leatherman Squirt S4 (no longer made). It’s the scissor version. Very light and I use the scissor ten times more than any other feature. The new PS4 is not as useful IMHO (pliers and scissor as small fold-out). I have S4s stashed all over the place where they can be seen and used.
I would even say the Milwaukee Fastback Compact would be a good choice. I carry the 6n1 now for the screwdriver but if you're just looking for a knife, the compact version is really lightweight. It's a fun thing to fidget with too.
Very wholesome excitement over 'the little things' makes me super happy. I had this playing in the background but it grabbed my attention and I may have to grab that pine body wash. Love me some earthy/woodsy smells :) best!
I once had your knife, but when I replaced it, got a WorkPro box cutter instead. The WorkPro still uses replaceable utility blades, same liner lock, but it's smaller (in all dimensions) & has a better, screw on clip. All for the same price too.
After losing several nails to severe stubbing in my diabetic shoes, I was compelled to try Birkenstock Arizonas, and I was amazed at how comfortable they were. Now that my nails have healed, I am getting a pair of Bostons because Birkenstock footbeds have brought tremendous relief to my formerly painful diabetic neuropathy. I'm not fond of the look, but I can't quit the comfort.
Lol it’s cool seeing you so excited and passionate about things. Humans just being human and excited about their interests is one of the best things about being human haha
I never thought I was a birkenstock guy, not even really a sandals guy at all, but a few years ago my girlfriend got me some Arizonas and I have lived in them for 2 or 3 years now. I've sent them off to get resoled and went to grab a second pair in a different color but ended up getting a pair of the bostons instead. Absolutely love these shoes.
It is fun to share your favourite things. My Birkenstocks have been my favourite since 2006 (same pair still). I bought a hand-knitted natural wool jersey at a craft market, quite expensive, and I love it. Wearing it now. Finally bought some Fjallraven Vidda Pro pants and then promptly lost weight so they’re too big, but really enjoy them anyway. I have a few pocket knives to chose from but recently I’ve been enjoying just bunging the Victorinox Bantam in a pocket and forgetting it’s there till I need it. I also got a Swedish folding cup from a surplus store and it’s become another funny, cheap little thing I’ve really been enjoying along with my Clever Dripper for making coffee and my Hydroflask for taking it out on mini picnics.
Slippers, man. Working from home you really can’t live without them. My new ones are RockDove Hearthfire moc. Rubber outsole, memory foam midsole, fake shearling lined, wool felt upper. All stitched together, not glued. I got them in green. They are so freaking comfy.
Try the Big Idea Designs TPT Slide. It's basically a titanium edc utility knife that you don't need tools to swap the blade on and it has a great clip, screwdriver, 1/4" bit slot, and makeshift wrench on it. They're $85 but worth it if you use it every day.
thank you for your vids love both channels I also love good boots have had many wesco and whites over years gives you a new love for boots that really fit must get new soon and there is nothing better than a good soft wool shirt/over shirt or jacket so warm even when wet good clothes make for good times outdoors
Yes to so much here. But wool socks are the best, and worth the cost. Smartwool is regularly on sale at REI and they feel way better, breathe way better, and last way longer.
I do enjoy this type of videos where I can discover new ideas for presents and also for myself to improve my gadgets…. So please more like this content
Great stuff Wes, love the insight into your psyche..4 favorites from me: Knife: Gerber paraframe, serrated edge for the same price as yours. MUCH better clip, decent edge with some TLC. Had mine for 5 years now. Slippers: Grey's Outdoor wool Slipper Boot from Huckberry, amazing- best slipper I've ever had. Wallet: Ridge wallet, original, gun metal. Solid, rugged and looks better with age. Hygiene: Grandpa Soap Co. Pine tar soap/body wash and more recently Old Spice Royalty body wash. Love the more casual stuff her on 2 - keep up the good work
Love both channels, I appreciate all of the entertaining content. Thank you! I’m a huge Ashland fan myself as well. I’ve been itching to try out the Fat Herbie, if you end up doing a giveaway or anything I’d be super interested! Thanks for an awesome 2022, cheers to lots of cool things in 2023…
The Gerber EAB is a fine little utility knife, I carried one for years and still use one whenever I need to use a disposable blade knife. If you look hard enough you can find screws that fit the little flathead screw that holds the blade in, that are similar to thumb screws you find on PC cases that allow you to exchange the blade without tools and they function as a thumb stud for one handed opening. For pens I love a Zebra F701 with a Fisher Space Pen cartridge, and Darn Tough Steelies for socks.
Suggestion for a MUCH better alternative to your Gerber is the Milwaukee fastback line. They have several models, some come with extra blade storage, some have a folding screwdriver built in that takes standard bits, others are more minimalist. Best part, same price and much more durable. I carry one with extra blade storage daily on the construction site. One of my favorite tools.
Always handy to have a utility knife. I have one of those Gerber knives somewhere, but right now I have one from Outdoor Edge caled the Slidewinder. Very handy with a couple screwdriver tools built in. Won't work in every application, but can be as handy as the blade itself.
I bit the bullet and ordered some Red wing Arctic socks the last week. Life changing honestly. I checked out Grease point earlier in the year when you mentioned them. I currently have way too many jeans though. Maybe in the new years I'll look into grabbing a pair or two.
Gustin is another great clothing brand for us tall guys wanting to get into the denim world! I'm 6'3" and also slim, their 31 fits great. I have a pair from them that's my go-to
I love the personalized pen!! I bought myself a Pendleton cream zipper jacket with the rainbow stripes. It was 20% off but I don’t think it’s all wool. I need to run and check!!😂
If you’re looking for the high end version of your knife, take a look at the Chaves CHUB. You’re going to shell out $175-$200 for one but they’re built like tanks. Uses the same blades as the Gerber. I have the locking blade version, but they’re basically unobtainium now. The current version is a slider, but still checks all the boxes. And their pocket clip will not fall off.
For the slippers, I really dig the look of those Quoddy ring mules. I don't want fuzzy slippers because then they're too warm in summer, and would rather wear them with wool socks in winter. I also really dig the thick chromepak soles - perfect around the house or for quick errands. Definitely on my radar. I've been jonesing after some GPW pants for a while now. After some of my other pairs die I'm going to replace them with Grease Point.
I love Grease Point. Got a pair of their Nihon Menpu Olive Work Trousers at the end of spring. Completely different fabric than yours but they quickly became One of my favorite pair of jeans. Amos is also great to work with. Asked about having something slightly customized which he happily helped out with.
I recently bought a pair of Birkenstock Bostons in Horween Football leather, definitely a step up from their standard offering. The type of Boston with a back on it? Not a Boston, the model is called ’London’ and was introduced decades ago : )
You should make more videos on heritage clothes!!! I am as tall and slender as you and it is so hard to find high quality clothes, especially trousers, shirts and jackets, lots of heritage clothes come from Japan these days and they are tiny.
Enjoyed your excitement about these products. I’m all in on your version of the Gerber! There are relatively few utility blade folders out there. Just got the Milwaukee “fastback” utility folder with a screwdriver. I like it but I wish it was a touch smaller and more premium. $19.00
I gotta thank you for the Packers pine tar body wash. So I had mostly used Dr. Squatch pine tar soap and my wife absolutely hated what it did to our shower with the black residue. I received the packers and love it! Best of all I'm not pissing off the wife anymore either.😉
Check out the Giltek RUK-S in aluminum. It's only $20 and is super slim, fits great in the watch pocket of your jeans. If you're looking for a similar style to the EAB but with better fit and finish check out the Exceed Designs Tirant V3
Love this video and actually both of your channels. Happy to see your channels and business are growing. I can still remember the earlier days when you start cutting up boots. Merry Christmas and happy new year!
I'll recommend a good quality knife at a great price. The Morakniv Basic 511 (carbon) or 546 (stainless). Fixed blade, so strong, no lock or pivot to fail. Sheath with belt clip or button clip. So either you're using it or it's in the sheath, you never have to set it down anywhere else, so it easy to keep track of. The button mount is versatile, anywhere you have a button, or anywhere you can put a button, you can hang the knife. Quick to deploy, pull it out, done. Nothing to flick open or unlock. High quality manufacturing in Sweden, made from high quality Swedish steel. The best part is the great value, you can pick one up about $12.
ALSO! To get a more high quality “pocket knife” there is an Exceeds Designs Tirant It has a titanium frame and you can still use any blades you regularly use. $85 for a life time quality build.
If you’re looking for a much better knife on Amazon for a dollar more check out the Ganzo firebird line. I’ve been carrying the F753M1 for a couple weeks now and it’s better than some 60-70 dollar knives I own at about 19 bucks. 440c blade steel, very smooth action for being on washers, and it’s a crossbar lock.
If you want an upgrade for the utility knife, I reccomend any or the Gil-Tek RUK (rapid utility knife) models. They're light and compact and surprisingly very well priced for being USA made. I like the RUK P (plastic) for how light it is, and the RUK S (aluminium) becuase I have the optional pocket clip mounted (much better than the Gerber clip).Run by one or two guys making them in their own shop, so it feels good to support a small business.
It's funny I started watching this video and then went out to fix the heater on my Tacoma and clean it out and I found that exact same gerber knife in the cup holder! I found it on the ground at a construction site after the snow melted last spring and then forgot about it. I put a fresh blade in it and will probably just leave it in my truck as a spare knife!
You’re so right about pant lengths being odd. I’ve worn 38-42 waists for years, but those are most common in 28-30 leg length for shorter stouter people. 32 works, but is hard to find in stock. 31 would be perfect for me, but is nonexistent. If I’m having that issue at 6’1” w/ moderately long legs, then I can only imagine how hard you find getting pants. Thanks for the great content in 2022!
I recommend the Birkenstock Zermatt Rivet for inside slipper. Really comfertable! And they have an anti slip sole which is very nice on hardwood floors.

Thanks for the kind words about our pants! So glad to hear you like them so much! We just sold out of that fabric and now everyone wants them haha. Cheers! -Amos
Any plans to get more in stock at some point?
i was gonna say, ive been waiting for this fabric now! hopefully you get some more soon, i need new workpants soon!
I was just looking for that fabric also. They look 🔥🔥
I would definitely order if you restocked them in that fabric!
Yup, now I want a heavy pajama too
I recently switched to Darn Tough Socks, specifically the 2017 quarter work socks. Although they're $20 a pair, they're amazing and I'll never wear anything else again.
Theyre probably the cheapest socks you can buy considering the life time warranty.
Every person I have ever gifted a Darn Tough sock (wife, brothers, dad etc) has stopped wearing any other brand of socks. They are that good!
i dont buy any other socks. whenever I wear through a different brand I buy a pair of Darn Tough
@@Grumpyoldman666 I have a drawer full of Smartwool socks. I have various cold and hot weather pairs. I also have base layer pants, boxers, a couple tees, a long sleeve shirt and a few pairs of gloves.

A knife collab is the next Rose Anvil collab that we need please! :)

The 2nd channel has become one of favorite channels to watch. Its nice to get into the details.
I’ve been wearing Boston Birks since high school. Around 35 years. It’s 95% my daily wear when I’m not in work boots.
100% agree on the house slippers. Recently bought a pair of Clarks and they are definitely one of my most favorite things
I love that knife i Have been buying them for years now I bought my dad and my step brother and the both are still using them today.
Ive had two ashland leather wallets for two-ish years now. Best wallets ive ever had.
Agree love mine, have had it over five years.

I love shopping vintage Pendleton stuff. Far more likely to find 100% wool. Not to mention the vintage look is amazing.
Love to see you sporting The Used hoodie!

Loved the sock and shoe choices. Sometimes the "nice" thing is something that you don't have to worry about too much.
you're a very personable and friendly guy, and your channel is very helpful and entertaining. happy christmas
Splurged and got my reverse shell Ashland wallet a few months back!! Absolutely love it !!! Thanks for the hard work Wes! Merry Christmas
I love Acorn sock/slippers. Wool sock with leather soles. Comfy around the house in the winter. NASA Apollo Astronauts liked em too.

Thanks for this! Twas fun to hang out with you and get a wrap on your favorites. Have a rad Christmas and enjoy that Pendleton!
You rock. Merry Christmas!
Really loving the second channel
Hell yesh. The Iron Snail is my favorite youtube channel.
Yes to so much here. But wool socks are the best, and worth the cost. Smartwool is regularly on sale at REI and they feel way better, breathe way better, and last way longer.
some really cool stuff. thanks for sharing.
fun channel ... and informative. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
This is hilarious. I love my birkenstocks and just ordered the londons. Appreciate your channel bro.
I’ve been carrying my Gerber EAB for 3 years. You can tighten up the clip by squeezing a little with a pliers. I use mine in my pocket as a money clip

I’m a huge Ashland fan myself as well. I’ve been itching to try out the Fat Herbie, if you end up doing a giveaway or anything I’d be super interested!

I also have Bostons as my anti-cat litter house shoes !!

I really enjoy your videos so thank God for Packer's Pine! 😄
Love my tactile pen!! Ordered one off your video and they are awesome!!
My feet always get hot. So I wear the Birkenstock Arizona's as house slippers. Great call!

I wear the Birkenstock Amsterdam as my house slipper. So comfy and good for my feet.
You are guys defo my fave thing or #2022 💖💖💖
I love the personalized pen!! I bought myself a Pendleton cream zipper jacket with the rainbow stripes. It was 20% off but I don’t think it’s all wool. I need to run and check!!😂

I’ve been wearing the Birkenstock londons for about 2 years now and they are my all time favorite shoe lol.
Bosch folding knife is the best.excellent knife,
I love Grease Point. Got a pair of their Nihon Menpu Olive Work Trousers at the end of spring. Completely different fabric than yours but they quickly became One of my favorite pair of jeans. Really loved 3 of the things you recommended.
Check out the Giltek RUK-S in aluminum. It's only $20 and is super slim, fits great in the watch pocket of your jeans. If you're looking for a similar style to the EAB but with better fit and finish check out the Exceed Designs Tirant V3
The Iron Snail is my fucking jam! I love watching his videos.
Cheers to The Morning Dram Coffee! 🥃🥃☕☕
Love this video and actually both of your channels.
Happy to see your channels and business are growing. I can still remember the earlier days when you start cutting up boots.
Merry Christmas and happy new year!

Best damn video, Weston!! Merry Christmas!
ALSO! To get a more high quality “pocket knife” there is an Exceeds Designs Tirant
It has a titanium frame and you can still use any blades you regularly use.
Respect.......
Nice Hoodie 👌 by far my favorite band of all time ! I have really expensive taste in knives and its a very deep rabbit hole, similar to boots .
In terms of an upgraded Gerber knife, you might check out the Gavin hawk shorcut.
I carried that same gerber before upgrading to a TukXL. Highly recommend the switch
@RoseAnvil2OnNicegram SCAAAAAMMMMM!!!!
I recommend the Birkenstock Zermatt Rivet for inside slipper. Really comfertable! And they have an anti slip sole which is very nice on hardwood floors.
I like those cargo pants you demo in this video. You look great in them! I never realized you are 6’4” tall! You style clothes and boots very well! 👍
