- Denny Laine mentions Jimmy McCulloch during a radio interview after the radio interviewer played Spirits of Ancient Egypt...hence Jimmy's lead guitar solo during Spirits to begin the video.
He was a natural talent playing at a level beyond his years. Amazing!
Aww I’ve been a Jimmy fan since his Thunderclap Newman days. He really was a naturally gifted guitar player, so sad he died so young, being found by Jack must’ve been absolutely heartbreaking for him. I love the photo you put up of Jimmy, Jack and the little dog Jock. He seemed so sweet and still looked about 16 in his Wings days
@Corsina Jimmy didn't write the lyrics to Medicine Jar. Colin Allen wrote the lyrics and Jimmy put those lyrics to music.
@janfreidun No, Jimmy didn't play on Playmates but he played on the short British tour supporting the album. Yes, he joined the Small Faces in early September 1977.
I agree and she stated earlier in the interview that she grew up listening to Wings on the radio..
The interviewer should have done some research before the interview. Denny might have thought the same thing when she asked "Was that you playing?". What a dope.
To be fair, these were the days before the internet. You couldn't just Google stuff.
She worked her ass off on her husbands songs.
I loved her voice.
She didnt have to do it.
