Nice vid. Just wanted to add two things.
I think the biggest reason katars fell off was the move to online with the pandemic. Katars inherently benefit from the lack of lag on lan as it is a low risk, low immediate reward weapon. It did get nerfs around that time as well, but even when it got buffed later on katars still weren't used as much. And if I really correctly, wrenched was always someone who performed much better on lan than online.
The other thing I'd like to say is that greatsword was still good after the nerfs, it's just that nobody wanted to use it anymore and with the buffs it's getting next patch it's gonna be broken again :).
Completely agree with you on Greatsword. While Hardy has spread GS propaganda to make the weapon seem unusable its probably just fine!!. I really enjoy these comments and I am so impressed to see the knowledge you guys have on LAN tournaments. I personally enjoy Lin Fei, Onyx, and Mako as my main characters so I try to keep unbiased.

You just have to make sure you are doing the right combos on GS. Nlight-dlight-nlight is your best combo, completely unjumpable and nlight is a really good move to read dodges with. If you catch a dodge with slight, do slight-nlight-slight, which is also unjumpable and extremely deadly at the ledge. In general, fish for slight, and do one of three reads: dash nlight (catches all dodges away and dodges up and down, convert into nlight-dlight-nlight), dash reverse nlight (catches all dodges in, convert into nlight-dlight-nlight), and dash back dash forward slight (catches spotdodge and can convert into slight-nlight-slight or the 5 hit combo if you know how to do it).

No body uses him because they are BLIND hes super good imo. Sandstorm busted him out once. Also Lahkan plays him. Maybe I can cover some of the more random dead charectors like Sentinel, Mako, Thatch, and Isaiah

Bro couldn't agree more with what you said about hattori. I'm a hattori main, currently at lvl 93 with her and ive played her so much to the point its hard for me to perform as well with any other legend at the moment. You have to be goddamn precise and play her perfectly to actually get any payouts. I'd even say she one of those characters that require high skill to play. Now I know what you're thinking. "Spear the easiest weapon in the game and sword thats completely basic with high speed. Pfft please should be easy" but boi lemme tell you its hard asf landing detrimental hits with character since she so weak and if your opponent got their punish game in check you better not miss any of your hits because her defense is basically like playing at 60 percent damage on a fresh stock lmfao. Really stresses me out but im dedicated to this character even if she completely dies out Imma bring her back to the top some how.
I'm pretty sure in the video I said she's really hard to play because you have to play better than your opponent and not get hit.

@@Vondakay i meant when they massively slowed katars themselves down so technically every katar legend. i remember around that time i was getting some ember and lucien time in when they nerfed the speed by a lot and half of what i learned was no longer possible at any damage range

You mentioned Ember sees some pro level play and honestly she's barely seen. Who plays her ?
She is honestly barely seen which is odd because of how good she was/is. Basically the thing with Ember is she is super good but, it takes some dedication to master her. The low defense makes the character especially risky in the Bo3 format. Java played her a good amount last year and Stingray used her some of the time in 2020 and 2021.

@@ZoneOutWay2 the concept of it is pretty easy , but the weapon doesn’t work how it use to work.
For example the drops , one of the biggest issue for Katars
They are hard to use as you get higher in ranked. The weapon just becomes really unreliable sometimes, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to use, it's just not the best option against certain weapons and situations.
