In this video, Feliks from Super Flu takes on an educational sampling challenge for fun and shows various great creative sampling techniques. He is sampling sounds directly from our own PML RUclips tutorials. Keep in mind: It's important to have clarity on the underlying copyrights of any sound material you use for sampling. Before you use such an approach, produce and release a track created in this way, you have to be sure that you are allowed to use all the sounds. That's an important condition. With that being said, we hope you learned something from Super Flu's inspiring sampling session :)
Soooooo easy to get stuck in a rut, thinking you NEED this genre sample pack, or that exact soft synth, in order to make music. This shows putting the fun and creativity back into making electronic music. The possibilities are literally endless. I started out, way back in 1993, with a Korg M1, Novation Bass Station, Atari ST with a Team Air copy of Cubase, a pair of 1210s with a Made 2 Fade DJ Mixer, and an AKAI MG614 Multitrack tape mixer. We now have countless VSTs and VSTIs, things back then you would spend 1000s and 1000s of pounds to have access to. You DON'T need the latest, greatest plug ins, you just need your imagination and creativity!
