In this video, I discuss the course structure of each course, as well as the philosophies that have helped me succeed so far.
Disclaimer: I am not an official representative of University of the People; I am only a student. My views are my own!
Great video as usual, Katherine! I'm gonna share it on Yammer. Keep up the good work.
do uopeople have video lectures, i am joining uopeople
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with University of the People! I, myself, have been an online student for five years from middle school through high school. Now I'm considering pursuing my post-secondary education online, as well. It's nice to see how similar the course structure is to what I've had before (the peer graded assignments being an exception). However, I am a bit skeptical of their accreditation and how employers would view a degree from such an institution. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter, so I'm eagerly waiting for your next video! (:
Hello Mava, can you contact me here muyengadelii@gmail.com I would like to aske you some questions about studying online, please contact me.
You have really try in explaining everything. Thank you
I want to know student who transfer to other colleges( regional Colleges or university) after a year or two.
Katherine, your inspiring videos motivate me to go for my new journey. And I've been searching for more details about UoPeople but, only your vlogs sound and look like that gives me some satisfactory feedback. I've found no one without you such a helpful volunteer who knows the proper information about it. It will be a pleasure if you let me contact with you somehow to help me to clear some of my confusions about this institution. Truly, I will be grateful with your response. And I've something to know---- is it possible to take as much courses as I can go for per semester or there's some official limitations for that?
What is duration of bachelor of computer science at uop
4 years
Many thanks, great video, and fruitful information. Wish you the best.
Please, Katherine, make more videos. Are u still studying or did you quit your course?]
Thank you! Are classes offered as lots of text that you need to read or are they offered in videos?
It's texts that you need to read (in my experience. I've been with UoPeople for a couple of terms now, MBA program). Hope that helps
Hi Katherine, again, another informative and excellent video for those of us looking for more information on UoPeople. I think your positive attitude and hard work ethic have helped you greatly in your studies, and I hope to imitate that. The classes sound challenging, but I am going into a different track than you are in--I will be doing the Community and Public Health track. I hope the classes aren't too difficult, but I know that paying attention and studying hard is definitely beneficial--taking the classes seriously and doing your best work. It has been a long time since I've been in school, although I did go to a bricks and mortar school in 2012-2013 school year. I didn't enjoy that at all--I hated having to be at my history class at 10 am on Wednesday when it was snowy and I wanted to sleep in! I knew then that an online school that offered some scheduling or structure would be more to my liking. Anyway, I appreciate your videos. I like.your personality--you keep it real and tell it like it is, the good and the bad, but you also keep a positive attitude about it, which of course is essential in life. Thank you for sharing about the school. Please continue to put up videos. I thought that if I get accepted by UoPeople, I would also make videos like yours, as I think people need to know what to expect at this wonderful school. Thanks so much!
Wow yes please share your experiences and let me know too! You'll do great in school, I predict!
And what is this peer peer grading??
Hi Katherine, that you so much for your helpful videos about your experience at UoPeople! I am in the middle of my enrollment application (BS of Business Admin)! So excited! Do you have any tips on how to get started and succeed? Additionally, you mentioned a professional portfolio, could you please share some more details around that?
Great info! I save every assignment I do prior to submission. I also enjoy the discussion forums. I completed the AHIST1401 course in the last term & I learned a lot about different cultures. Thanks for the post!

Hi Katherine, does "discussion Forums" in a Course count towards final grade ?
Hi, the discussion forum posts count for 10% of the grades
I loved your videos, just enrolled in BSBA 😨, very anxious, i already have a degree but want to change careers, never done any online learning curse, and i hope i have enough discipline! I really wanna learn and i work full time ugh. You seem very organized so far.
Don't worry, you can do it! 😊 My advice would be to make sure you do a little bit every day so you don't develop anxiety about your assignments. And start with 1 class at a time so you can get a feel for the pace and how it'll fit in your full-time work schedule. Congratulations on starting your new journey!
Katherine Mays omg thanks for your answer, it really motivates me. Good luck to you too. Lets keep in touch and i will let you know how i feel! if you have facebook or any contact info i can get, i would love to!
What if you fail the quizzes or the exam? I heard you can only do the exam once. Is this so???
Can anyone answer this pls
Please answer please
Thank you very much for your video, Katherine! It's great to know your experience at UoPeople. I just completed English Composition 1 and I'm really looking forward to start UoPeople foundations this next term. Good luck with your studies, and I look forward to watching your future videos.
Great positive attitude, Estefania! Keep up the good work!
Hi, Can I ask question. When you started with English composition, did that mean you had already confirmed for your enrollment and saved your spot yet? Hope for your reply. Thank you😊😊
Hi Catherine, Have you graduated yet ? how many courses are left for you ?
It's not bad, but am getting emails from uopeople saying when I could enrol. Am not saying uopeople is, but I can't help but think most universities are for profit institutions. Studying is expensive, and although much cheaper, uopeople, their degrees seem rather intense. Not easy if you got a job, family and a house to run. I understand uopeople is tuition free. I am able to get a business degree equivalent to a bachelors for about over 2k. In Europe. 2 year study. No exams. These are online study. For a bachelors, I am able to study for double the price of uopeople. Online study and no exams. Also 2year study. It's too bad that uopeople degrees, just don't seem very flexible, for working people. And the proctored exams. 40 exams for a bachelor.
@@jayangli which school in Europe do you attend?
@@1990chula Hi YR91. I am soon to do the Power MBA program. Or a Masters Program. It is an alternative MBA. Do a search on here if you like.
