    If you’re on probation for two OWI’s, and you’re willing to violate your probation for a glass of wine, there’s a big issue. Clearly, he doesn’t think that drinking and driving is that serious, nor does he think his probation is serious.

      Yeah, the guy that looks extremely hungover in a dirty hoodie JUST was using mouthwash only. It fascinates me when people cannot take responsibility. I got caught once, was quiet and polite, took my punishment, all fines, quit drinking for good, and made it through everything court related just fine. If I had a problem, I emailed my probation officer and the court if needed, and made myself available to the court as needed.
      That was 4 years ago and it went quite smoothly, I learned my lesson. and am 4 years sober.
      It isn't that hard to grow up and take responsibility for your actions, people!

      It's like hearing Judge Simpson say 'Mr Allen' during proceedings, which makes me giggle. I watch the bailiff/sheriff quietly move up behind the defendant and you know exactly how things are going to end!😂

    To be fair, my depression meds show up as opioids. The difference here, is I can prove what I'm on and what they show up as, as they are registered and shown to do so. If you're on meds like this, make sure you can prove it if you're on probation.

      What the fuck kind of "depression meds" are you taking that they show up as opiates? Or, the alternate question: How pathetically useless are these tests if these kinds of errors can happen? Normally SSRIs are what's used as "depression meds". Haven't heard of those showing up as opiates on drug tests.

    I was once on probation and required to take random drug tests. My PO asked if it would be clean and I told her very definitively that it would be clean because I have literally never used drugs or had alcohol. She was amazed when it was completely clean. Said everybody tells her that and it’s never true.
    I also kept up on my payments, always checked in, kept in communication when I needed to travel for work, etc. I was arguably their most responsible.

      Wearing a shirt like that to a job interview is a polarizing thing. If the business's focus is on queer representation, that shirt would tell the recruiter that the wearer is likely to fit in. Otherwise, it tells the recruiter that the wearer is likely to be an HR nightmare. The guy in this video wearing his Martin Luther King t-shirt to court is sending a message, but it's not helping his case.

    The liar said something interesting. He said that he lied because "all the other times I was good." That's one of the problems with many people - they treat everything as a video game, where as long as you do more good things than bad things, you can still "win". Well, that's not how real life works. In the real world, no matter how many "good" things you may have done in the past, it only takes one bad thing to fuck it all up.

      Depends on how the lawyer acts in front of the judge, after all they are lawyers themselves and have been lied to many times in their career, they realize that defense lawyers get lied to by their clients, it's when the lawyers double down and triple down on an obvious lie that judges really put them in a bad position.

      What? People are too dependent on substances. Your brain won’t be able to produce dopamine naturally, as this is what the drugs do as changing the brain’s chemistry with continued drug use. The only way is to have the brain drug free to heal and maybe the brain will heal enough to again produce its own dopamine.

      You should always show up to court respectfully, no matter what it is for. Time and time again, I see people show up like it's a slumber party or they are going to hang out with friends. For some I guess court is a meeting of new friends they'll be in jail with. Super disrespectful

    That first judge is so out of touch.....that lady said she has prescriptions for the opiates and amphetamines that are on file with the probation office and said. "No she doesn't" without even checking.....he is the epitome of everything a judge should not be.....

    I was trying to remember earlier who was the guy (I think he had Johnson as a last name) that Judge Simpson always told not to speak cause he would inevitably violate a bond condition and then he would still talk and violate a bond condition.

      They choose not to stop smoking. My husband has smoked daily for 50 years and quits whenever we go on vacation without any issues.

    The guy that failed for alcohol, if it was drank then it was metabolized and the test would show the alcohol and the metabolite.
    That's why you do a UA if the breath test is positive.
