It is between loose rubber suspension (SVS) and tight fabric suspensin (Klipsch). Tight suspension is very nice to listen, much more revealing, has more midrange clarity.

I think the new SVS speakers are impressive. I think if I owned them I would use equalization to reduce the bass slightly between 50 and 80 hz. In your demo, with my headphones, I liked the Cornwalls. They have that presence on the high end that really stands out. Some will dislike the "bright" sound, I dont dislike it.

Im currently playing with a pair of Crites Cornscalas that are on loan from a friend. They have the Lascala top end horns w the Cornwall bass. They are pretty good but I find that you need to listen at higher levels for them to sound their best. At low levels they tend to lose micro detail and some lower mid and bass info. Play a 32 hertz tone through th e Klipsch Corns and the Forte4s. The Forte reach 85db with ease in medium rooms @ 32hz and have a bit authority, not so on the Corns. They are down at least 6db @32hz given the same power. Some claim to have measured a 10db drop. Goes without saying the reason you get the Corns is bass, several sound tests have shown this- ie the Paducah video.

I like the highs on those cornwalls and the bass is something you can feel in the chest but the svs towers not so much, I guess if you would pair it with one of there subs then you would be better off but some audiophiles hate adding subs on there setup when you want that true 2 channel stereo output.
