Ardenleigh Tour

Mental health hospitalisation can be a scary and unnerving time for our patients, even more so for their loved ones. To help ease any anxieties, a film has been produced to show the public what life is like at Ardenleigh and how we aim to provide a safe, structured, and comfortable environment for all our patients during their time with us.
Ardenleigh is our Women's Secure Blended Service located in Erdington, Birmingham. The 30-bedded unit covers the whole of the West Midlands, consisting of multidisciplinary support ranging from clinical psychologists to occupational therapists.
Throughout the video, various clinical professionals across the hospital guide the viewer around our site, showing us everything including a look at the patient’s bedrooms, dining areas, sports facilities, therapy rooms and much more.
Our colleagues care for patients with severe and enduring mental illnesses and personality disorders who require rehabilitation in a highly supervised and structured setting. On paper, this can sound very scary and there is often many outdated and inaccurate misconceptions about what psychiatric hospitals look and feel like.
By opening up our site to be filmed, we hope that the following video will provide a transparent and helpful overview for current and future patients.
