Amazing series on empress Nara: " Ruyi's royal love in the palace"
I was just going say that too! It’s one of my favorite shows!
Came to agree! This is one of my favorite Imperial Dramas!
beautiful yet tragic show. i could rewatch it so many times
I loved that series so much that I even made a video tribute on my channel :)
I loved that show. The end destroyed me.
So wonderful to see some non-European history here. It can be so easy for English-speaking history channels to be eurocentric with their content but there is so much history on other continents that we just don't learn about, and so much of it is really interesting! We wanna learn it all! :D
Yes, it offers cultural enrichment we can all benefit from 🌎
Yeah, it's called World History. We all take it in high school.
@Rulya.BaruchHaShem.Morrigan There isn't enough of it in public education. European culture was all that was mostly taught in generations past. Please don't pretend that wasn't the case.
Nothing like late Imperial China for the dramatic, the bizarre, and the tragic. Thanks for posting this compilation!
Right?? I am sure there was murder and intrigue all through those courts with the jealousy and , the heirs having to basically compete.
Sun Tzu perhaps perfected his craft from these courts! lol
There is a life I would like to know about!
Congratulations! 309K! Thank you for the awesome upload FLives
I love the fact I’ve been here froM the 100s numbers.
His content got me through a difficult time back in 2018 and I knew when I stumbled upon this channel then it was a hidden gem .

That is great! His historical research is amazing. I have been a subscriber since his first video. Love his work. He deserves the best!
As usual, your stellar work, blows me away. Thank you for introducing me to these long forgotten young women, and a glimpse of their lives. We can just barely imagine what it was like then, but you are able to place us in their shoes, so to speak. You manage to capture their emotional and human feelings. Which brings them to life for me. That's an Art my young friend. You truly have a gift.
Yes!!! 👍
❤Thanks for a whole hour of a wonderful forgotten history. Fascinating as always.
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Your content is so well done and thoughtful..I appreciate your research and work! You definitely have a calming presence. I’m glad to be a subscriber..sending love from California 🌺
What you said but from the UK 👍
This was really good, man.
I'm in awe of your ability to find topics for videos and then curate enormous amounts of information into such fascinating stories about people I never knew existed and then become fascinated by their existence.
You have such a rare talent.
Thank you.
Thanks very much for your support:)
SINCE THE START IF COVID I HAVE BEEN WATCHING CHINESE DRAMAS NON. STOP.... I LOVE THEM . ❤️ ❤❤🥰🥰
Listening to this whilst making a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies 🍪 ( my son insists on calling them biscuits). Anyone fancy some? Pop on over especially you, FL.
Yum! May I pop over? My husband would especially enjoy some oatmeal raisin cookies! I’m listening while making a cheese pizza. It’s a bit too warm in California for that but oh well ❤
I'll be there in like 20 mins
Hello FL from Exshaw Alberta, love how you bring history to life.
Canada? I went to Vancouver once while staying w a friend in Washington. 🇨🇦 I’m in California and something that I love but haven’t commented about is crossing paths and reading comments from all around the world on channels like this. ❤
Love your stories and admire your hard work in researching them.
Thank you!
Well done!
That was really interesting 😊
Glad you think so!
I'd love to see a video from you on the fall of the Northern Song dynasty, especially the Huizong Emperor
Thank you. Enjoyed.
Great video, as usual. I’m happy to see your channel continuing to grow. You should do a Q&A. I’d love to know where your interest in this subject was derived.
Thanks for the idea!
Thanks once again for another great case I enjoy listening you narrate these great cases
Glad you like them!
Fabulous, thank you ❤🎉
You’re welcome 😊
Such a great video. What fascinating lives these people had. Your voice is lovely and very relaxing to listen to.
Thank you so much!
❤❤❤ the history ❤️❤️❤️ this channel
Your content is always interesting and well-told.😊 Congrats on 300k+ Subbies 👍🎉-🌴 just me in Palm Springs 🌴
Awesome! Thank you!
Yes! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾.
Thank you for the videos, I love them and appreciate all you do researching the content. You do have a comforting and calming voice, have you thought about also doing night calming relaxing videos in some way maybe reading well known novels? Theses videos are great but also very interesting and keep me awake because I’m so interested BUT if you had a second channel reading for night time listeners to calm and relax ready to sleep then that would be great 👍❤️ if you do please let me know. Thank you 👍👍👍👍👍❤️
Thanks very much!
PUyi was said to be very cruel, sadistic and violent to his wifes and that he never had relations with them as he was gay, hence why his wife may have had relations and a daughter elsewhere.
He ordered to throw the infant girl in a furnace. I red this in his biography and was totally shocked.
I loved this video, lots of great information. I just wanted to say some of the imagery used was actually japanese or korean artwork.
Thanks! And I will work on that for future videos !
Hello, Forgotten Lives. Do you have any plans to start a patreon membership? I have a very cool video suggestion about a great-grandson of Mary, Queen of Scots that no one knows abouts (and he was a criminal). I'm doing some great research over him, it's a very tragic and beautiful story, but sadly there's nothing about him in terms of a book, video etc. I'd be glady help you on the script and title suggestions (via email), I believe it'd be one of the most viewed videos of your channel. I don't even want my name to appear on the video or anything, and I'd actually even give you a tip. I love your channel, and hopefully it'll get to 1M subs one day!
Hello, I do plan to, but I have been busy with work! And please send it over to my email, it sounds very interesting! :)
Nice documentary. It is a tragedy to be the emperor's queen or concubine. And China is not alone in these tragedies that still exists today. By the way, the documentary did not mention Puyi lost his "man ability" at a very early age because of over indulgence with maids in the palace. He didn't sleep with either of his wives after they get married.
Interesting extra info, thanks !
❤
Would be an interesting one on Korea! About Korean Men. And why they are getting taller in the past 50 years. Something going on there!?🤷🤔🤷🤗❤️🔥🙋
We should hear about Chris McCandless
👏
I love Yanxi Palace!
Good job! Could you do a biography on Nancy Quan?
Great suggestion!
You look like a young Elvis Presley!!
❤😊❤
Some of the paintings were korean and japanese paintings
I was going to say that
And? He may have focused on stories about Chinese people but also talked about the influences around them including Japan and Korea so including art/photos from those places was entirely appropriate.
I don’t see what shocking about these stories
Please consider learning correct pronunciation of the Chinese words. For example, the e in Chenglong is a schwa sound, and the o in long is pronounced as a sound between o and u,
Half brother, not step brother cuz they share same biological father.
Ads ruin the story very annoying
Thanks for the heads up. First one I come to after I start watching in done.
His voice makes me cring
Welcome to RUclips, is this your 1st day here on the internet? Get RUclips premium or an ad blocker. Complain to RUclips itself about ads not the creators. He isn't inserting ads at his own whim lol
@@terryl858 All you've done is leave comments complaining about his actually very lovely voice. You could've spent that time/energy finding a channel you like but instead chose to be a complainer. Go find content you like.
@@-xxMelissaxx- what you taking about go back and listen to his first stories no ad's the more subscribers the more ad's
It was suggested I find another channel - so I have unsubscribed. Thanks for the advice to look elsewhere 😂
Those lips drive me wild. Be still my heart :)
Creep
@@RiskieBiscui Creepy or not you're looking to!
Very creepy. Stop it.
So let me get this straight. I am a queer, I looking at look at handsome men, what's wrong with that? No, I'm not trying
to pull that WOKE BS or the queer card.
Any chance of you having a rethink and talk like a normal person your uptalk makes me cringe. Uptalk
That's how he talks... his voice, tone, pace are all lovely. If you don't like it, go find another channel to watch instead of complaining about something that # 1 is part of what makes him unique and # 2 is something that he likely cannot change.
Thank you for these interesting tales about people I wasn’t familiar with.
Respectfully, Grace 🩰
Glad you enjoyed it
