Its nice to see actually achieveable and inexpensive things that can make a difference to a kitchen - I can't say I'll ever be brave enough to sand my counters, but apart from that it's all possible and not insane!

Remarkable changes, for so little money, Kate, Moon (drill-man), and Joey! You are so talented and creative (and cute, to boot, Moon)!
We did a texture change to our existing shinny countertops by spraying a clear matte finish paint over them. If the style changes again any time soon we can easily remove the clear texture to reveal the shinny one underneath.
Quartz counter tops are so nice. Just leave them and design around them? I feel like messing with the surface messes with their quality. I'd be terrified. That said, I admit it looks amazing so good on you for being bold and experimenting to show us the possibilities. Love your content

When she was holding up that backsplash it looked WAY too cool toned. Between the countertop and wall color I did NOT think it would work well..... then MR. KATE GOES AND GEL STAINS THE COUNTERTOP AND ADDS WARM UNDER CABINET LIGHTING AND *BOOM*... everything is cohesive!
Lovely kitchen makeover but I really missed your 'under $$$' budget makeovers for other people. You may consider making over other islanders's rooms though I am not sure where your nearest thrift shop is on haiwaii.
Expensive bathroom would be really helpful. I have to share a small bathroom with another adult and a baby. Plus I need to cut down on clutter

Great job on the kitchen! Beautiful take on modern farmhouse that isn't at all tacky! Loved it!
So a fun thing my family did together was flipping the cabinets. The original front of the door was a very dated look but the inside was a straight edged shaker style look. So we just flipped the doors, filled the holes, and painted them and it made the kitchen look so much more modern and clean. And it was cheap because we didn’t have to buy new cabinet doors. So if your cabinets have that on the inside, I definitely recommend.

That kitchen is beautiful! It's astounding! I wish you could help me make my kitchens and bathrooms...and we'll, other rooms, too...look really good for low expenditure! I'm trying to make my house look expensive without spending a lot (because I live on disability Social Security income and just don't have a lot to spend). I'm moving and want/need the house to look too notch. I did a small wall in one bathroom of peel and stick tiles and it looks fabulous! I just can't get the kitchen and sun room to come together. Then, there's the cabin I'm moving to... It was a little hunting lodge that's being revamped/upgraded. I can't quite get the flow to come together there. There's a separate guest cottage, and a chapel on the land. They need a little work, too. I've been trying for so long to get these projects done...I used to be able to do so much, but now I'm disabled, and it's even hard to stand up for very long at a time... We'll see what happens. I just need to get both spaces in the best shape possible for the absolute least cost...so I can sell one and move into the other. Are you all ever coming back out "on the road" to help people?

We named our puppy Moon after your Moon, because they both have beautiful blue eyes and are the cutest things alive! **Quick Edit** It was our kiddo's choice, because they watch your videos with me and absolutely love your son... but duh! who doesn't love that kid?

Also leathered countertops are amazing. I had a black leathered granite countertop in a house I renovated and I LOVED it. I miss it. I sold that house with my ex. We bought another. And then we divorced and sold it and now I own a condo. First place on my own. Love making it 100% my own.

I’ve always wanted to try adding peel & stick backsplash to my boring kitchen, but I’ve been scared that it will rip off the paint when I eventually take it off to move out (I rent). Does anyone have any recommendations for good brands that won’t do that?
i’ve seen some ppl put painters tape down first as a barrier!

Fav tip was refinishing the countertop. I never knew u could sand and stain stone.
Loved the idea to paint the handles and knobs of the old appliances. As well as the sanding and staining of the counters!!

Whoa. This might be my fav transformation yet. It’s so much more accessible than a lot of other projects and makeovers I’ve seen.
I have these adhesive tiles. I bought them from amazon and it worked out quite expensive but initially looked amazing. Unfortunately the corners keep pealing back on random ones all the time. I keep trying to reglue without it being noticable but they keep popping back up. I've used gorilla glue even! Do you have any hints or tricks that may eradicate this problem 🙏 . I'd be really grateful. Many thanks! And as always gorgeous job!

Gosh I love everything y’all do! I wish I could work with y’all. It would literally be a dream come true 😍. In high school I decided I wanted to do interior designing, but then I realized I also like remodeling the structure of the house, so watching yalls videos is SUCH an inspiration!😍 I’m now considering getting free or cheap furniture, refurbishing it, and reselling! I’ve done it with our dining room table/chairs, and our TV stand. I got it for free and could easily sell the TV stand for $400+ and the dining room table for $300+. And the good thing is is I love doing it.😍

U can recover with laminate sheets u glue it over what u have. We have laminate to. Look up laminate sheets on lowes
