    At the time, I owned a new Mercedes S-Class and GL, but nothing compared to the STS in my mind. I still have a 3,6 RWD, which I love, even though my newer cars are much better on paper. What really stands out, is how ahead of it's time the STS was. Magnetic ride, huge touchscreen, keyless-go etc.

    The 1980 Seville was front wheel drive. Last year for rear wheel was 1979.

    Who knew that when GM and Delphi created magnetic ride suspension back in the day that it would have such an impact on performance cars today.

      that's pretty low miles of course they should still be running strong, when you get up in the 250k miles then I would expect issues

    Oh the continuity error of it all. It's a rear wheel drive car, but the virtual window sticker at the end says front wheel drive. So hilarious LOL

    Ok guys :) So, I just found a beautiful, black on black, V8 / AWD, LOADED for only $7000. My ONLY question ( and the only one that matters... ) is, at this point in the Northstar development, did GM finally fix the oil leak/coolant issues with the engine? Or should I weep openly and walk away because such a wonderful vehicle is so poorly designed? LOL

    • @jamelmoore4356

      1970borntorun, as an owner of an 06 Northstar V8 STS, I strongly encourage you to avoid this vehicle at all costs! It's a money pit! I've had leaks, motor mounts breaking off, engine overheating, suspension issues, and a host of other problems I can't think of right now! Even as a relative luxury bargain, it's simply not worth the hassle to maintain!

    • @1970borntorun

      Jamel Moore Thanks for the info, my friend. I'll take your advice. It IS a shame that a company with the engineering resources of GM COMPLETELY half-assed the engine development.

    • @mackfar27
      @mackfar27 5 лет назад +1

      1970borntorun In addition to what Jamel Moore mentioned to you, I will add to what has already been said.... This car, although really nice, will send you to the dealer every month. Avoid at all cost, oil leaks are still a very big problem unfortunately, and as the engine gets older, burns a lot more oil than expected as well.

      @@1970borntorun Cadillacs require no more maintenance than any Mercedes/BMW... I spend more on fuel than maintenance and I have the older models LoL
