I was attacked by an XL Bully dog a few weeks ago. The owner pulled the dog away from me and left swearing at me so abusively for being afraid. I have been left with PTSD. Please ban these wild dogs. They are truly dangerous and whoever has the misfortune to encounter one of these on the dogs bad day will either be injured or killed. Please prevent future deaths from these wild XL bully dogs.

@@ispy3836 How will you ban an owner? A lot of times these owners buy these wild Xl bully dogs to scare others and feel more powerful when outside as they know these kinds of dogs are violent and make people feel intimidated. The xl bully dog breed needs to be put down or placed in kennels away from the public/public roads. They are dangerous and so violent. Look at the rise of deaths and injuries over the last two years caused by this breed of dogs. Innocent men, woman and children have been killed and hurt. Enough is enough

There are plenty of other potentially dangerous breeds who also likely have bad owners but the Bully XL is far and away leading the pack. Under good owners it’s clear they can be tamed and disciplined (although have heard plenty if accounts of them turning on their owners even if they have been raised well) but they’re just too inherently dangerous in the wrong hands to take the risk. If the animal is being terrorised then in my opinion it has every reason to retaliate, if however the dog is taught to attack on command then that is not acceptable. Knee jerk reactions only serve to inflame misconceptions. What we really need is leadership that seeks the truth and deals with it accordingly. If the decision made is against the knee jerk reactions then educate the public by being open and honest and sharing the facts behind the decision.

As usual, the knee-jerk reactions whip everyone up into a frenzy, allowing the falsehoods to be spouted the loudest.
Yes, this was a horrific attack, but this is one dog, one attack. We should look at the owners of dogs which attack humans. Dogs are trainable and there should be some kind of certification, to show the owner is qualified to own a breed - any breed. (Like the old Cycling Proficiency Test, for example). There should be a level of competence there, when anyone wishes to possess a pet, be it a dog, snake or a horse.
It is a fact that the breeds most commonly reported for attacks on humans (biting the postman, etc.), are the so-called 'gun dogs', the retrievers and related breeds. In the words of Michael Caine, "not a lot of people know that". I fear many do not even want to know, as they will carry on with their 'ban everything that moves' policy!
"Stan" here cites 75% of deaths from dog attacks over the last 3 years, are the responsibility of this "bull" breed. Statistics can be made to show anything.
Tangentially, if our politicians had been honest and obeyed our Constitution, we would be carrying weapons for self-defence - this dog would have been toast before its first bite! Maybe not the central point of this discussion, but one can imagine that, if people were so-equipped, the dog would not last long if engaging in the act of harming people.

Sick of seeing dogs being labelled as pit bulls that are clearly not, one instance a litter of four puppies one was labelled pit amd as sucj had to be insured and muzzled etc other three free to just be normal dogs! 🙄. This asinine demonising of particular breeds shows a clueless bias against many wonderful family dogs. Banned breed list will grow and grow whilst little snappy dogs will be allowed to carry on with bad behaviour.
