To think that the oldest living man alive (as of September 1st, 2024) was born after the Titanic disaster. Every man, whether a survivor or not, alive when the Titanic sank has passed away. Anyone who survived the Titanic would be 112 and one of the oldest people in the world. Even if there was miraculously a survivor alive today, chances are we wouldn't have them for very long. With all that, it's amazing that we had a survivor alive as recently as 2009, 97 years after the disaster. Very few ship disasters had a survivor live on for that long afterwards.

He have 4 children Walter Charles (b. 1912 before Titanic) William George (b. 1913) Phyllis Gwendoline Irene (b. 1916) Ernest Jame (b. 1919) He served WW1 and he awarded Mercantile Marine War Medal and General Service Medal He also served in WW2 His eldest son Walter died in 1916 (4 years) His daughter Phyllis Gwendoline Irene died on 1923 Walter become Widow on mid-1924 after he lost his wife His 2nd child William married Florence Alice Rose Stride Walter become widowed again after his dead of His second wife Florence on 1943 He remarried Mary Hicks, née Simmonds (b. 1898) Walter died from disease on 30 June 1960 (69 years) he was buried in Hollybrook Cemetery in Southampton, England His 3rd wife died in Fareham, Hampshire on 31 Aug 1989 2 remain children Ernest died in 1980 William died in 1996

@cate_abreu I was 11 when the 1997 movie came out. Pretty popular. The internet wasn't in your face ever hour you're awake like it is these days. As so the movie was the biggest talking point with friends in school. Being said all these more informative documenties and the like I've seen on the internet in more resant times give me more information then the movie. And wow you weren't quite born. I feel kida old despite the fact I'm really not all that much older than you.

RIP. It was a great tragedy. But these tragedy has made the RMS Titanic as a legendary ship. The sisters ship Olympic and Brittanic were forgotten.
