Getting the original stuntman for Keanu to play the Trinity's substitute partner? Now THAT is f*ing meta.
He was also Brandon Lee's stunt and body double for The Crow, and is now the director of the John Wick movies.
One thing that stood out for me was Keanu and Carrie's chemistry throughout the film. Both their performances and chemistry were great.
meh
Spot on a piece o garbage.
You watched a different movie lol, they were both phoning it in the whole movie
Their chemistry throughout the whole entire franchise is bland at best. As a couple, they don’t seem like they have chemistry at all with each other and they also seem like they act like a robot couple trying to emulate what human love is.
they looked really disinterested and kind of dull, there was no atmosphere between them
"this is my husband Chad."
- Chad Stahelski (Keanu Reeves stunt double in The Matrix (1999) dir. of John Wick films) walks into frame.
oh. i get it.
also great to see that Lana Wachowski got a bunch of the cast of Sense8 to pop up throughout the movie.
The two things you liked were not about this movie. :D
@@tsogobauggi8721 And?
@@goodoldfashionedloverboyy Wonder and ponder about it, maybe some day an idea will form in your mind. :)
When he first appeared, he seemed familiar to me. And then I thought about John Wick and realized Chad IS Chad Stahelski.
@@tsogobauggi8721 The idea doesn't seem to have formed in your mind as you are unable to answer a simple question.
I'm really happy to see Suraj recognize all the Sense8 cast members. I remember when it was just Suraj reacting to Sense8 season 1, this was before The Normies group.
Yup, it was good to see Capheus, Wolfgang, Will, Dani, Amanita, Zakia, Felix, and Rajan all together again!
@@AceCruzat You forgot "The Bug" he played the coffee shop guy Smith used.
Wolfgang was Suraj’ male crush
Twas quite a flex for Lena to put WB's "We'll do it with or without you" blackmail directly into the movie.
I remember getting something very different out of the original Matrix especially Neo's speech at the end.
The way I saw it, they were saying that Neo isn't special. He was just the first one who gained the presence of mind to do what he did. ANYONE could and the when he says "I'm going to show them a world without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible..." He's basically saying he's going to teach everyone else to be like he is. Because everyone can do it. He's only unique in that he did it first.
They seemed to abandon all that in the sequels but now that Trinity can do it too, and the way Smith says "anyone could have been you" makes me feel like they were alluding to that as the case again.
Big thank you to the Normies (plus a shout-out to the crew of YaBoyRoshi) for making me feel less alone in how much I loved this movie.
Fun Fact: Matrix Resurrections was filming at the same location as Venom 2 and Tom Hardy makes a cameo in the background
@@thedarkknight2221Apparently during the last sequence with a bunch of people running, Jessica (Bugs) and Tom joined as well, just for fun. Don't know if we can actually see them though.

Not a sequel, not a remake, it’s a co-op new game +
Jessica Henwick was great in this movie. Yes, she played Nymeria Sand on GoT and was also Colleen Wing on Netflix's/Marvel's Iron Fist.
She also played an X-wing fighter pilot in one of the Star Wars movies.
She also would have had her own Marvel spinoff show called Daughters of the Dragon with Misty Knight but Disney and Netflix ended their deal and Disney+ was created
It’s amazing how much the first matrix stands out
It is amazing how bad Hollywood has become in the last 15 years. Shows and movies have just become PC woke bullshit.
@Nybbl er The directors made those 3 movies when they were sane. Clearly, they are not anymore.

The frenchman is now the metavingian.
The message in the movie is: STOP BEING USED BY GREAT CORPORATIONS THAT JUST SUCK UR MONEY LIKE IF U RWERE A BOT...
It is all in the movie.
@Necramonium Yes and no. WB was gonna do the movie with or without Lana, so she took the opportunity to make a big "fuck you WB" movie. The biggest problem is not really her or big companies doing shit like this, is the public that keep consuming, keep giving them money, and that makes them want to do even more no matter the lack of quality, so thecnically WE are the problem here

That's why Lawrence (Morpheus) is not in it...Trinity and Keanu are in cuz they do not care about money anymore...

i knew i could trust suraj to recognize the sense8 cast, so nice to see them working with lana wachowski again
This was like a sense8 reunion.
The Matrix: Sense8 Reunion 😂
Lana Wachowski and Hugo Weaving were trying to get his Smith back, but Hugo was doing a play at the time and the scheduling was too intense.
It was a great epilogue for the series. They've confirmed that it was a one-off.
Edit: here's what Lana had to say about why Resurrections exists:
"Something really hard happened in which both my parents got ill. My dad first got ill and my wife and I went home to take care of them. We were really close to them - also a good friend also died in this short period.
It was just this constant grief: my dad died, then this friend died, then my mom died. I didn’t know how to process this kind of grief.
My brain has always reached into my imagination and one night I was just crying and I couldn’t sleep and suddenly my brain just exploded this whole story. I couldn’t have my mom and dad - I couldn’t talk to my mom or dad and yet suddenly I had Neo and Trinity, arguably the two most important characters in my life.
People can look at it and say 'well Neo's dead and now he's back and Trinity's dead and now she's back, isn't that comforting?' Yeah it was! It was immediately comforting.
It's simple and that's what art and stories do, they comfort us."
Look up Jean Baudrillard and Hyperreality. This entire film is pointing to that. 'The Matrix Resurrections' has become a Matrix for 'The Matrix'.
One more Sense8 correlation, the guy that Smith changed into after saying "I've always been anyone" was the same guy who played Bug on Sense8

Great movie. I’m glad so many people also feel the same way as us 👀👀
Sadly they don't, movie cost around 200mil without even adding in advertising and had only made about 125mil in theaters. Many are calling it a flop and even if Lana had ideas for another which it didn't sound like from her interviews, there def won't be one now probably 😕
...
I just noticed that neo mentioned that it was about 20 years he’s felt like he’s been in the matrix almost matching up with the release dates of the movies
Just got back from the theater.
WTF. So many questions lol so many answers.

The ending?!
@Nybbl er to you maybe. I loved it. I don't watch it for the action. But the story. And based on what I've been reading and heard in theater as well, a lot of people didn't get it. But that's okay took a decade for some to get the first one 😂
mickey, i'm also all in. tbh, the one thing i absolutely did not want out of this movie was a flashy sequel hook and they went and made "how to brainstorm a flashy sequel hook" part of the goddamn simulation. i think making thomas anderson a game designer was a fucking genius move. i love how reality and even the camera frame warps around this morpheus and accentuates his role as psychopomp. i have a dark brown cat named io. she doesn't have a bell around her neck, but hey, now i'm automatically investested in the survival of io as a community. i loved when niobe talked about waking into silence. i'm praying for that someday.
and i love the preciousness of a strawberry. i grow things to eat and to remedy. people don't see the revolution in a seed, but you have the feed the minds you free.
I see a lot more buddhist influence in this one. the flickering of past lives and altered egos in reflections while a recurrent simulation runs on suffering. they are able to build on the cycle of samsara that they set up in the original trilogy and make it more acute. i like how the movie makes a distinction between choice/free will and consent. they risk everything to give trinity the choice that she didn't have before, not only to be free but to be equal to neo if she wants him. she's not in love with him because he's special when she has the same abilities, we're not doing the ubermensch thing, we're talking community building and justice and consensus rule that includes all sentient life. yes. more of this please. i wanna see if we can get there
btw, I’m assuming “nodal fibrillation” is referring to the sinoatrial and/or atrioventricular nodes of the heart. they initiate the electrical impulse that causes the heart to beat. A nodal fibrillation isn’t really a thing as far as I know but i’m not a cardiologist
I would think it would be more atrial or ventricular fibrillation.
@@Heroesfullyalive for real, that would make more sense, but the line of dialogue is that there is a nodal fibrillation, so...??
Loved every minute of it ❤️ Thank you Lana
33:56 "don't pull him out" 😂
i think i saw 3 of the guys who did the special effects in the original trilogy making a cameo in this
I truly enjoyed it. While it contained many callbacks to events from the previous three films, it also felt very unique and like an effective standalone storyline.
Oh, it is definitely "unique"...
I enjoyed the first third a lot, was onboard the second act, but the movie lost me at the final third with the save trinity heist. I would’ve been happy with the whole movie just them trying to extract neo and exploring io and the new machine/human power dynamic instead of rushing to save trinity as well. Save that for the sequel so that we have more compelling and choreographed action instead of world war z zombies
The best way to describe this film would be if Robert Zemeckis was forced to make a Forrest Gump sequel but with Ben Stiller's Simple Jack character.
Good reaction folks!!
Man this is the most positive reaction to this movie
This is a good continuation, but I perfectly understand the director, Lana, why this fourth part feels less intense than the previous trilogy and why the plot dialogue feels like a direct attack on the Warner producers who pressured the sisters to make a sequel to the original Matrix trilogy. For the Wachosky sisters, everything had already been said with the trilogy, the Animatrix movie and the Matrix Online game, that's why they didn't see a fourth part as necessary.
27:36 I thought Smith just woke up too
Oh he did
Lol at her putting lost hair on the guy head twice 54:55
the rumor was that the og idea for matrix 4 wick 4 was that neo was wick after they erased his memory

During your review... what did Rana keep putting on Mickey's head? lol
Glad you guys liked it! I know the reception has been... uh... divisive? But I really enjoyed it. I had a few qualms, but overall I had a good time. And it made me wanna go straight back into the first three movies, not because they were so much better or whatever, but because it reminded what a fun time these movies were. Bravo to Lana for releasing a movie like this in today's current blockbuster climate. What a ballsy move, and I hope she gets to make more movies like this.
Also Smith's line of "I can't believe Warner Brothers is getting us to make another Matrix" (or something like that) blew my mind as I was watching. I had to pause to comprehend for a few seconds. XD
I did a watch through prior to Resurrections
let's take a moment to mind the fact that Neo coded a Morpheus knockoff by himself, sub-consciously, for one specific purpose, and *IT* delivered, on the first go.
tell me the name of *ONE* programmer who had pulled half a subroutine from their asses without having to double check it immediately after running it.
it's like shooting the breeze, with your eyes closed, and nailing the bullseye of a target that wasn't going to be there until a week later.

Actually flabbergasted you didn't include a single portion of by far the best part of the movie, the montage.
@Nybbl er it was great
I loved sense8. So when they used similar scene tricks for operators, I was very happy lol even them bringing most of the cast in too 😂 I enjoyed it
I liked the movie although I find it weird af. The cinematography is off sometimes and the action scenes weren't good. I think the first half of the movie was great but some different plot choices would've made it insanely better. Trinity being a program should've been the big reveal, with the machines deceveing Neo into thinking she's in the other pod. It would've opened up a whole new set of great ideas for the ending. Who's in the pod? Why do they need Neo there? Just an opinion :)
Remember the trilogy is about the transition.
@@estebanogazon Not entirely
@@d3l3tes00n You are right, but I think making Trinity a program would miss the point. It's the exact same thing the movie is criticizing, it's not about the plot twists and the flashy action, it's about a personal journey told through art.

I said the same thing: it looks like it was shot on an iPhone!
You guys are the only reactors that get the plot, you guys are awesome.
They fly now.
I loved the inclusion of the Merovingian, but not because I thought it added a lot. Rather, in the time leading up to the film there were theories about the role he'd play and many thought he'd be the big villain. I liked that they brought him back as a fakeout so the movie became less predictable.
The Oracle didn't say Neo wasn't the One she said "Sorry kid. You got the gift but it looks like you're waiting for something." Which he was, Neo only became the One after he was killed by Smith at the end, then he came back as the One of that particular iteration of the Matrix. This new iteration Neo is not the One, it seems like in this new iteration Trinity is the One.
There are so many people from Sense8 here. Not just cast, but even production crew..
30:05, so, Monsters Inc are AI?
Man, I wanted to like this movie, but seeing familiar stuff doesn't make for a good movie to me. I like that they handled it better than other reboot/sequels. The action was just so bland compared to the first trilogy and I think it's because Yuen Wo Ping didn't come back to choreograph. Some of the filming choices and effects were damn near CW show quality. Good on folks enjoying it, but I just felt sad afterward.
I’m with you. This movie was highly disappointing. The action was terribly shot and nothing like the OG trilogy. Yuen Wo Ping was sorely missed here. Story had good moments, but good moments don’t make a good story. Overall it was a convoluted mess with terrible pacing and corny ass line delivery. I think people who like it just don’t want to accept that this was an obvious cash grab from WB trying to capitalize on a reboot/remake craze and we love the OG trilogy so much, we don’t want to admit how shitty this movie was
@@EdgarDiaz-pt4qx It actually wasn't a cash grab as folks love to say. Lana's reasoning behind it makes the movie really meaningful. This isn't a reboot/remake either. Sorry you didn't like it.
I think the movie actually says this isn't about the action or the visual effects.
It blows my mind that Neo and Trinity didn't fire a single bullet in the movie
I mean, Neo literally stopped using Guns when he finally got his powers at the end of the first Matrix.
@@BlueSkullX oh shit I didn't even realize that
the first part of the movie (what is real?), the chemistry and the humour holds this movie together, the action scenes are a bit crowded imo
exactly the only two problems that I had with the Resurrection was the lightning and the camera work. Most of fighting scenes were poorly shoot. Not clean enough and I wasn't amazed and in awe of fighting scenes like I was during the trilogy. The story was good, the chemistry between Neo and Trinity was perfect. Like those 20 years I considered them to be one of the best cinematic couple and them being together at the end of the movie was everything I was hoping for crying my eyes out during Revolution when Trinity died.
All in all it was a good experience just a little messy I guess. Got sad by lack of distinguished OST like in the previous movies. Except for one song (the same in the trailer) no other cost was memorable. Also too much flashbacks that were so strange to see cuz of the differences in lightning.

@Lee Brown You are allowed to like it. But it was obviously many many many steps down from the original Matrix, even the sequels, on a technical level. my thoughts exactly. it felt lazy (not the best acting, not super digital effects), but the story is simple and flawless. Like the matrix was about self acceptance and not bullet time..
I think this film was wrongly criticized (not by The Normies, but by other "Critics").
The first viewing is a little confusing admittedly, but after some mulling over and looking at it a little deeper, it's actually a rather cool film that makes the Matrix Universe a bit bigger.
