luckily my hobby journey started out painting miniatures, and those skills i was able to carry over to scale modeling (which I prefer now) but it doesn't make me shy away from any figure painting.
    Great video!

@@makoajohnson2341 Thanks for watching, I do like figure painting. I am just not very good at it.

@maddogmerv I still live by the "2 foot rule". We are looking at our models/figures with magnifying glasses, while most people are looking at them 2 feet away on the shelf.

@@modelrestorations Well, I wanted you guys to see it in a very organic situation and know that you can go back and clean them up a bit, which is what i'm going to be doing today. And then we'll move on to the uniforms.

I didn't think they looked over dark. I think you've got a good effect of grimy soldiers,in the field.👍👏😃🤔 None of them was going to be on parade🙃

@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 I'm still gonna clean them up just a little bit. And particularly the one that I used the oil base wash on. It's not my favorite technique, but I've only been trying it on a few heads so far. But I have found this technique is much faster and sometimes if I get it right actually looks pretty good

I still do most of my figures with enamel, but I've got gallons😉🤣,I do like to learn of new techniques for all types of modelling and painting.🤔. I had a can of bad acrylic aerosol. The thinner nearly eats styrene, but it created a brilliant vinyl roof effect.👍😃.unfortunately all over the car and dissolved my filler too😭😭

Thanks! Those 1/35 faces are difficult for me. It's easy to lose all the detail. Will try this method.

@@ronandanne1 Well, you can see at the very end that they did not turn out perfect. And I really want to go back and clean up the area at the top of the nose by the eyes where I think there's still too much grime and a few other little places, but with some practice, I think this technique will work out really nice. In the next installment, we'll be doing some uniform work and I'll update you guys on the faces.
