You can apply this technique on any pure fabric. Fabric paints should me used on cotton

Do not Heat the wax so much. Place a cotton fabric on the runny nozzle of the tjanting tool. And use it quickly. It's just a practice.

If you are talking about batik wax. It became golden after heating.wax should be removed from fabric otherwise it will melt and absorb in the fabric and make it oily. And if you are talking about just wax color yes you can color the wax with wax colors. You can find in powdered form. And if you want to paint your wax like candles etc you can paint with acrylic paints,oil paints etc
