The Cathedral is to be restored and apparently the government and rate payers will foot the bill, although it has attracted protest and the bishop of the Church has been blamed for dithering. A change of government may also slow this process down, along with the problems of non Anglicans protesting the cost, non religious people and non Christians like Muslims and Hindus complaining about Christianity being over emphasised.
Great vid , i,ve lived in christchurch all my life , and things need to move faster , 10 yrs on and still the city has broken and eye sore buildings!
