Being a black woman, I can say identity theft in our community is a real thing. I actually worked with a nurse, who I thought skill set was off for what she said she could do. I shook my nerves so much, that I went to my manager and requested for the safety of our patients, that she NOT be allowed back in our ER. She was an agency nurse. So it was easy not to have her back. I just explained there was “something off and not right. I felt like I was teaching a person who has never practiced as a nurse before. Her confusion, and not knowing how to do simple tasks. I first chalked it up to her being a manager for so long, but after a couple of hours, she got worse and not better.” A few years later, I run into another nurse who had worked at that nurse’s agency (Yes this nurse ran a nursing agency, so why was she taking a ER shift? A nurse for her company didn’t show, so she ‘replaced’ her. What I didn’t tell my manager was this nurse was my ‘other’ boss, cause I too worked for her nursing agency, resigned after that shift with her.) She came flying at me and said “V, did you hear about….?” I said “Nope.” She said “Girl, she wasn’t a real nurse, she never went to nursing school.” I said “But she had a valid license and ran a nursing agency.” She said “Nope not her, but her TWIN sister did all that. Was the nurse, went to nursing school, everything. All nursing awards were her sisters’. She killed her twin and took over her life. She pretended to be both, so her parents wouldn’t get suspicious. It was her nieces and nephews who figured it out. They were in their home country, and one came here to surprise his mom. Instead, he found his aunt pretending to be his mom. She even tried to gaslight him.” I looked at her and said “I knew something was off, that night she took a shift at my ER. She wasn’t that award winning nurse, she was so bad, I had my manager DNR her butt. Damn a murder taking care of innocent people. All so she could have her twins’ life!”

So….Calamarus killed 2 people, which he got 40+ years, but the bank fraud gets him 300+ years? Way to show money over a life or 2! All of these case are so interesting, scary a/f, and completely sad for the victims and their families 😢 Disgusting what people will do for money!!! Life is more precious than pieces of paper, falsely given value!! 💔💔💔

Another first degree murder case in which Colin Coates who tortured Lynda Spence for many, many hours was sentenced to only 11 years in a UK prison. The variance of sentencing is disgraceful, especially in the UK.

Yeah! I’ve watched some shows, such as FBI files, dateline mysteries, cold case files, etc where the music is played too loud which makes the narrator extremely difficult to understand. This show doesn’t do that. The narration is clear and easy to understand which I really appreciate!

Reminder, folks: There are no laws (nor has there ever been), in any State, requiring you to wait 24 hours (or 48, or 72) before reporting someone missing.
It still wasn't right in the 90's and prior; many people (especially women and girls) were murdered or never found because of these internal policies within police stations, but it it is completely inexcusable in today's world. Damn near everybody can be tracked via GPS, cell pings, apps like Snapchat, CCTV, and even facial recognition in certain places. You know your loved one better than any cop. I'm not saying go to the police after 2 hours when, for example, your cousin doesn't show up for the family BBQ on time and won't answer his phone. But if its been like 8 hours, you've tried tracking him on apps, you've tried calling all his friends and nobody's seen him - report that shit. There are still outliers, but by and large, most police departments no longer wait to file missing reports. They may not blast it across the news right away like you'd hoped, because to you they're "special", but most police will now at least issue a BOLO for the first few days.

Hey guys I've got a quick question:
Does anyone know of any similar sort of videos as new detectives? I've been absolutely loving watching new detectives and FBI files for almost a year... except I'm running realllll low on new episodes. I've been rewatching some out of necessity.
Anyone know of anything similar I could check out?
    Thankyou!!!

@fitness3447 Have you tried any of these? The second one is ona par with "the New Detectives", but you can see for yourself
      (1) MysteriousCases007 (Just type that as one word in the RUclips Search Bar - if I add the link in here, YT sometimes just deletes my comment entirely 🤷🏻‍♂)
      (2) "The Crime Atlas"™
      (3) "Retold - Documentaries & Reconstructions" - and
      (4) "True Crime Daily"
      Happy watching!

I second the recommendation for Forensic Files & add The FBI Files. There's also a couple of series with Lt Joe Kenda, one called Homicide Hunters. You should be well occupied now with all the recommendations you have now, but if you should run out, just search YT for true crime channels. There are a lot of creators that give great presentations, here are a few, That Chapter, Rotten Mango, The Little Shop of Crime & Coffeehouse Crime.
Enjoy! But be careful, true crime is addictive. 😄

It’s amazing to think that this episode was filmed back when Detroit still had a metro population of around 1 million people. In the 25-30 years since this episode was filmed in the late 90s…the population of Detroit has DECREASED by approximately 50%…& from what I understand now only has a population of around 500k people. Crazy to think that a city can totally sh*t the bed in that short period of a time.
