Back in the early fifties my Grandmother used to collect snow In our winter season and add cow's cream, sugar and strawberries or peaches to make ice cream for us. I can appreciate your joy in eating it.
Sometimes the unsung heroes should get more credit than we realize. In some of your dishes, the person who prepares the dish to give it a certain, appetizing look, deserves an A for Excellent. Just seeing the serving is making me crave strawberry ice cream even before the first bite is taken and we get to view the villagers' reactions.
Good to see them enjoying their ice cream. We take things like for granted over here. Never knew it wasnt available for them to try.
Give them a hot fudge sundae with strawberries. Make sure you don't leave out some whipped cream!

Oh, yes! With fresh strawberries as well! There are ways of making small batches at home, but it would require the availability of ice. it is a simple recipe but absolutely requires cold. I'm so glad you got to enjoy it! As others have mentioned, my grandparents used the snow outside. Cream, sugar, vanilla (or fruit!) My favorite is pistachio or butter pecan.
Pistachio is a definite favorite. (Though butter pecan is what's in the icebox.
Maybe a banana split will be on the menu one of these days!!!???!!!! Glad the young men enjoyed this treat!
Can probably split that 2-3 ways and finish it off between them [as it should be!]. Banana splits are just about "made to be shared," considering how much is usually in/on them. Very much a "social' dessert, popular at old-school "ice cream social" gatherings, and such. Good for sharing amongst friends, old and new! :)

I definitely prefer either fruity ice creams, or chocolate ones.
Mint chocolate chip is great, too... Though yes, fruit ice creams are quite lovely. Strawberry, peach, blackberry/marionberry, blueberry, etc.
