It can feel really nice when I settle in for an evening, make tea, and set up videos like this one and feel like I’m hanging out with a friend. :) it’s a lovely way to relax a bit and just unwind.
Put the maidenhair fern in self-watering. My friend was really struggling with his and then he put it in self watering and it’s thriving. I’ve seen maidenhair ferns in the wild and they literally grow on the rock edifices around waterfalls. Pretty tricky to replicate that environment in a house 🤣
Yes this! Or let it have a saucer of water under it constantly full. They are native to Australia too where I live and they are found next to rivers ets where their roots are always wet. They love it. Mines in a self waterer and it’s loving life.

Birds nest ferns are easy. They can handle drought better than most ferns. I have one that I’m always forgetting to water & it’s not thriving per say but it’s not dead.

I brought in a tree limb that had fallen out of one of our trees, it’s maybe 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall and potted up one of my wild growing plants with it. It really looks kind of nice, natural.💚🙃
This is a great idea, I’m going to have to try it. My neighbor has like a bamboo forest that I’ve gotten pieces from to use as supports but I’ve never thought about finding a more indigenous piece of tree to experiment with 😊

What about a systemic for your cactus?💚🙃 It says it treats scale and your not going to be hurting any pollinators? I use it when I bring my houseplants back inside for the winter💚🙃 just a thought
i'd do that, but i'd also put my cacti in a pumic-ey like mix where there's no moisture retention and i'd physically wash them often. that way I'm not overwatering because their potting media is SUPER fast draining.
I went to Costa Rica once in March and once in December and might I say December is the best time to go everything is at its healthiest and everything is green and lush March there was alot of fires and way way less green

To be more eco friendly and less harmful to your plants try using vinegar to rub of the pests instead of rubbing alcohol, this is just a tip but what you do is amazing 🤩
F the haters. Enjoy the fern. That being said, I was/am the victim of a crocodile fern. I still have it, but it looks like she survived a house fire. The baby growth is healthy so I'm hoping it makes a less crispy return.
I’ve killed three Crocodile ferns. They do amazing all summer then crisp up like little nightmares in the fall...are completely dead by winter. They are a tough one for sure.

The Rabbit's Foot Fern is pretty easy and spreads like crazy!

Same. Every time I prune my trees I will keep different sized branches to use as supports. They work great and seem to blend in nicely.
